This is a sham.  I called the number because I was concerned about identity theft.  I was transferred to "Carl Johnson" supervisor, who for first said he worked for SMS publishing, he later said National readers sms, he has no email address of website.  He said he had my number because I filled out a survey.  I asked where I could find the survey and he could not tell me. (I never filled out any surveys).

Who is behind this?  What are they really after?

I got similar text message to claim walmart and visa cards. I kept on asking the person about what survey i filled and all answers were evasive. I asked the company name and tried to get more details, but the person on other end of the line always tried to rush past those questions. It sounded fishy to me and I disconnected the call. Do not fall for this.

First, I got a text that said to call this number and get a free $50 dollar gift card. I called the number and they said if I did a free trial for something, I would receive a Target gift card and a discount card. They asked for my name, address, and credit card information. I gave them my card number with the understanding that I would be charged a one time shipping and handling fee. I was okay with this and gave them my card number. The man I was talking to said that I would receive the card within 3 business days. About two weeks passed and I still received nothing. They somehow had the wrong address for me, even after a long process of verifying my address. So I gave them my address again and they said they would be sending a bonus card for the trouble I had gone through and for being so accommodating. They said I would receive the Target card within three days and the bonus card within five to seven days. It has since been 7 days and I have not received either of the cards.

Does anyone have any ANSWERS? lol

I did the same survey for the ipad, but it kept trying to get me to submit all these other offers, which I wold have to pay for something. how did she get the ipad??

this all started when i did a survey for a free ipad,which my sister did recieve.

started getting these ttext msgs & phone calls after activating a Droid with verizon....i bet Google sells the phone numbers...I've had mobile phones for years...never give out the number and never had junk text or telephone calls.  Verizon so far has not been willing to resolve - telling me I could add 10 numbers to block calls or change my number (yeah, so I can get somebody elses junk msgs/calls).  I'm probably going to pay the cancellation fee and go to Sprint!!!

I did not get  a call from this number but I got a text from 7023720131 that says "thx for visiting our site Call 888-210-9442 toll free to claim your FREE  $50 Target Gift Card  RE: STOP to opt-out"

I also keep getting calls from unknown numbers! it is about to drive me insane!!

I got a text from 47879 and then the phone # telling me to call because I am a loyal customer and I will get a $50 Target Gift card. But there was a catch I had to pay them a S/H fee I decline. Who are these people?

Same as Bill. Text reads, "Hi, your name, We appreciate your loyalty, call 888-210-9442 to your claim free $50 Target gift card." also has a bonus code at bottom. Anyone know what this is?
