Got a text message from this number regarding a gift card from Target.

Received text message saying free gift cards.  I did not call back so don't know if it has anything to do with Target (as in other posts above) or just some spam/scam.

Got one this afternoon "we have your $200 Rebate Voucher", yeah, RIGHT!!!

888-210-9445 1-888-210-9445 Just got a TEXT message saying to call this number for a $200 rebate, checked it online, obviously a scam. So I call them, some dumb uninformed bastard answers and I ask, why are you TEXTING cell phones about a voucher.. click I call back, ask the same question... click So I called back a few more times... click next person that answers, you can all hang up on me, I will just keep calling you back, and ba... click So, if you're bored, make them pay for you phone call to a toll-free number, please, call, 888-245-9445 and give them crap

I just got a txt message I went online to check out this no# it was for a $ 200.00 rebate vocher. I don't answer anything that I not familar. I saw the other message on here so not going to do a thing about it. I'm blocking that no#

I called back SEVERAL times, got hung up on each time when I asked "Who are YOU?"    All they would say "what is your name...?"

I received a text message  from 1-440-454-1...   saying:   Please call 1-888-510-9445   We have your $200 Rebate Voucher.

I figured it to be a scam ....but who do you call to report it? I don't have unlimited texting so, I get charged for that call.

The usual scam, if this is a scam, is to get your credit/debit card info supposedly for a small shipping fee, but buried in the fine print is authorization for one or more negative-option subscriptions that you ordinarily would never agree to. Negative-option means your card is billed *every* month and canceling is difficult. Don't fall for it. There's no free lunch.

I wrote this out exactly as text to my phone. I DID NOT CALL the number back as I first came on this board to see what others may have experienced.

I Have NOT Posted ON Craigs List either! , However , yesterday when the text came through ,it was at 3:53 pm , So I went into my history tab to see where or which website I was on at that time this is what i found

AT 12:43 pm, When I was filling out forms for Government Grants for my education a pop up came through my pop-up blocker asking me if I wanted a $ 200.00 gas voucher and $20 gift card... here is the link....voucherhttp://ian.smileymedia.com/r2/index.php

I copied the link off my history tab >>> PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I think this place needs to be reported especially after going on a Government site for Educational; Grants.(at least that what they advertise) talk about FALSE ADVERTISING!  I remember  I DID NOT CLICK ON THAT LINK< and simply closed the tab.

They Obliviously got my number from the forms I had been filling out

Yeah I got that text and I called the number it told me to call and the lady said I was randomly selected to get a $200 wal-mart gift card and that all they needed was a shipping and handling charge.  Well, they asked for my credit card information, I asked them what survey i had filled out to be "randomly" selected and they said they have thousands of websites and they could not access that information at that time.  As soon as I said, I'm sorry but i'm not comfortable giving you my credit card info, she rudely said "THANKS!" and hung up.....this IS INDEED A SCAM!

I called the number, fully knowing that I have not made any purchase warranting a $200 rebate in the past several months.  I passed the ten minutes of hold time by reading webcomics.

Got a Text message this morning from 330-741-9455 that stated Please Call 888-210-9445 we have your 200$ rebate voucher. thanks for visiting the website.  

Don't know who it is.  or how they got my number

I got the same text this morning but from 12164825599. I called the 888 # and was put on hold so I just hung up.

The same thing happened to me only the phone number was 234-521-9517 i called that number and it told me to leave a msg but the mailbox was full and then i called the 888-210-9445 and i was on hold longer then i cared about and i gave up. The weird thing is i havent been visiting any website.

I called the number (because I am curious and also have no reason to be worried about them getting my info, because if they do try and screw me over then..... is what will happen to them!) and was on hold for several minutes then I gave up.

As one user suggested, I also used the Verizon website to block phone calls from this number.

Unwanted text msg, which I have to pay for since I don't have text in my plan.

Got a message that I won 250 dollars for visiting a website.
