OMG Im though I was the only one with this problem. Mine is almost exactly the same. They told me something, according to their notes so I told them it was not so according to my notes. I also told them to listen to the recorded message. I'm so frustrated. I never answer an 800 number so I didn't know it was ATT calling. It seems that every month I end up calling about my bill charges. This time I "hope" was the last. I was told that it would be taken care of for one year!!!!! I've been a customer since 1984.

Survey
It's AT&T wanting to follow up with a survey. Well, to be honest, I had sat on hold on 3 different occasions for over 30 minutes to get to a customer service rep. All three times I had to end the call because I had something else to do. But, no one should have to hold up to an hour and a half (the first time I called) to get to a human on the other end of the line. However, when I stopped paying my bill (on purpose, of course), it was amazing to me how quickly AT&T called and wanted to know when I would be available to make a payment. I was so thrilled they finally called, I left them on hold until they hung up. Needless to say, everything is rectified now, but I honestly don't think they want me to answer their survey because it took me 7 months to get my issue resolved.

Survey
I gave online feedback via a survey, why are you incessantly calling my home?  Ironic since I initially contacted AT&T about the spoofed telephone numbers that have been harassing me since 2013 for a "free medic alert"  and was told to dial *57 at $3.00 a pop. They should just institute simultaneous ringing so nomorobocalls can be used  and read their own survey so they stop calling me.

Yes, ATT - she was polite, but I would not give my ID code from a billing statement as unfortunately the call comes in as Toll Free Caller - not ATT.   I gave only generic replies.....

I had Uverse for one month.  They did the same thing with billing - totally messed it up, and lied.  Like you, I keep careful notes.  I went back to Direct TV.
Everytime I call ATT, they ask me why don't I come back to Uverse.  My response:  It sucks

So glad I saw all these messages. I let a very nice AT&T rep talk me into switching to the new uverse (spell?) plan yesterday but after talking with a relative who made the change, I changed my mind.  She said her Internet service wasn't any better, her bill was only reduced by $10 a month when they had told her it would be about $39 less, and now when she makes phone calls, there's a long delay between dialing and a phone actually ringing.  She said they did waive the $199 installation fee for her and gave her a $125 gift card.

After hearing that, I just decided not to do the upgrade and called back today - talked to a different person of course. I first told her I didn't want to pay the $199 fee because I know someone who didn't have to pay it (I was told I'd pay it, but get a $200 gift card in 2 or 3 months so that would reimburse me).  This second woman said she could waive the fee for me, but I wouldn't get the gift card.  When I told her my relative got one, she said that wasn't true. I told her my relative doesn't lie, and she said nothing like that was being offered now.  I asked her why I wasn't given the option  yesterday to have the fee waived, and she said she didn't know, but she was a manager and authorized to do that.  I told her I still wanted to cancel because of so many complaints I'd read on this site - she said you can't believe everything people say - that it's like two people eating in a restaurant, one might love the food and the other hate it.

When I told her I wanted to cancel anyway because most people were saying there was no improvement in their Internet service, she said there wouldn't be any improvement with the upgrade.  I said, "then why did the lady tell me yesterday the speed would be 3 times faster than I have now?"  She said it wouldn't be that much faster.

So, I told her to cancel it.  She replied, "Okay, but we're discontinuing dsl service in 30-90 days so you are going to wake up some morning with no Internet service if you don't switch to uverse."  I asked if they will notify me of the date they will discontinue dsl. Her reply: "I don't know if you'll be notified or not."  My response: "Well you better stop billing for it when you do that."  She said they would.

I told her I could get Internet service through  my cable TV company, and she said I just might want to do that, that she wasn't going to beg me to stay with AT&T.  At that point, I said I don't have to keep my  phone with AT&T either!

Then when she said she had cancelled my order, I told her they had scheduled a serviceman to come to my house next week and to be sure that's cancelled too.  Her reply: "When you cancel, you cancel everything - our serviceman is not going to waste his gas to pay you a visit."  Talk about rude!

I'm done with AT&T!   I also told them the foreigners they've hired, who call and say they are telemarketers with AT&T, can't speak English well enough to be understood and get frustrated when you can't understand them - and they call over and over, every few days trying to get you to upgrade services  (and don't mention the fees, etc.).  I told her AT&T is going to lose a lot of customers over the foreigners' calls and they should consider stopping that.  Of course, I know they won't because they can get the foreigners to work cheap for them.  While typing this message, one called me again!  I told him I've already talked to AT&T directly today and not to call me back anymore.

For those of you who are going to stay with AT&T, I'd advise you to tape any conversations you have with them as proof of what they offer you in their sales pitch as you are quite likely not get that good of a deal.

This same thing happened to us with regards to billing errors. For six months we had to call and get them to fix our bill. We had signed up for a new plan and every month they billed us as least twice the amount. We cancelled after 6 months. We recently decided to give them another chance since our son has such great service with them.  My hubby asked to have an email sent to him outlining what he had discussed. He never got one. We got call after call confirming our appointment for installation, etc. When confronted about no email they said "you'll get a copy of your services when we install".  We said Hell no we won't, we're not taking the service.  I guess they don't want a paper trail.  To top it all off, an installer showed up at our house.after we cancelled 3 or 4 times.  Needless to say AT&T will  NEVER be invited back into our house.

Survey
Even if you cancelled their service and have been fighting to get a final billing made available, they seem intent on bothering more with their survey.  They've called 4 times in 2 days.

That's the most they'll have wanted to talk to me in the 6 years I was with them!

The same thing happened to me. I was told how much my monthly bill would be, I was told there was an installation fee that would break down over 3 months at $33 a month. I was told the $100 I paid the day I set things up I would get back so my first 2 months bills would really just be 33 because that 100 would pay my actual phone bill for 2 months then $20 on the 3rd bill. I was like great thanks. Imagine my shock when I got my 1st bill and it was not $33 it was $271. I called they explained I had 100 to install my internet, 99 to install the phone, a fee to activate, which in the end I had to call and activate it cause they messed it up. I raised hell. They said it wasn't in their notes that the 99 would be broke down over 3 months. I said well how would I know about it if they didn't offer it to me. I went round and round and finally said give me a manager. She was not willing at first to help me. They kept saying once the order goes through they can not change it and break down into the 3 months. I told them I am not going to pay because the person didn't get their notes right, it was not my fault! Plus I was never even told about the $100 other fee t all. After awhile I got them tp credit me $200 and waive all of those fees. I just got my 2nd bill and it was $10 over the amount I was told but found out the $10 credit I get for 12 months doesn't go into effect for 8 weeks and my next bill should have it. I am going to ride them each month if it is even $1.00 off LOL

Me and my husband bought a house about seven months ago.We had to have a land line installed thats when the nightmares started.I lived without a computer and telephone for two weeks, till at@t could finally make it out to our home. For one third of that seven months.my computer and telephone were not working at all.We had five service men out to our home in that time span. Finally the last service man found that the guy that installed the land line failed to crimp the piece that went to the pole and found a short in the line that he connected in the basement. So I figured at this point I am going to call at@t and ask them for a deal for all my trouble.Well the first person I talked to told me I would be getting phone service and internet for around forty dollars a month for a year.Upon checking my bill on the internet I found out he raised my bill to seventy dollars. To correct the problem I had to call again and talk to another rep.She promised that the bill would be taken care of.Again I checked my bill on the internet.I found out that she gave me a small credit for the first reps mistake and lowered my bill to sixty dollars.not acceptable. Finally after talking to a third rep I received the price I was supposed to get.I would not wish at@t on my worst enemy. Its hard to believe a big company can be so screwed up!!!Very-Very scary.
