Got the same call this morning. After my zip code the message came back on and said my balance was $0. IDIOTS. If you are going to scam at least say I owe something.

Sprint calling us to "pay up or be disconnected" - though we don't have service with them, so...  now it's just plain harassment.  

I received the call as well. It is a scam. If you aren't sure, contact Sprint directly to settle your bill. DO NOT call this number back and give them your CC info.

You must be one of the ones trying to scam people. Its NOT sprint. And for those who aren't sure, call Sprint directly. DO NOT call this 888 number back. ITS A SCAM!

First, thanks for all of your post. THIS IS A FRAUD. They didn't even have my last 4 digits correct. I didn't call them back but will report it to the FCC. If we all report it, maybe this foolishness will stop. And for all of the skepticals out there, I pay my bills. More proof, that this is FRAUDULENT!

Several months ago on a Saturday, my husband and I entered Wireless Toyz, Cape Coral, Fl., to learn about various phone plans, phones and get estimates for possibly changing our cellular service.  The aggressive salesman, rather than educate us, pointed us to the iPhone with Sprint, yet he had no iPhones.  He asked for a signature to do a
Credit check and said he would have the phones in on Wednesday of the upcoming week.

On Monday I got a bill from Sprint for $160.  I had no phones and therefore NO ACCOUNT since the POSSIBLE transaction had not been completed and service had not begun.  

I immediately called Wireless Toyz complaining about how shocked I was to get a bill from Sprint.  They merely
told me to contact Sprint!  Livid, I contacted Sprint and spent over two days trying to ask Sprint how it was they
created an account with two new phones numbers that did not belong to me before I had no phones and no service.  They could not answer me.  I threatened Wireless Toyz with a media event to expose their operation and I threatened to expose Sprint for creating false accounts before people had phones in operation.  Wireless Toyz initiated this fiasco and then would not take responsibility to reverse what they had done.

Wireless Toyz of Cape Coral and Sprint could do this to anyone, anytime!   How many millions of people are harassed by Sprint because some idiot in a retail store told them he had ?sold? a new plan and two new phones?  It took Sprint an absurd amount of time to Zero Out this erroneous account.   ShortIy thereafter I received a final document stating the account had been closed with a Zero Balance.
Today, several months after I thought Sprint and I were done, I got two calls from 888-211-9960 leaving a message that "your Sprint Account was placed on Alert and subject to further action if I did not pay $27.60 balance.?  
The balance was Zeroed Out months ago once they understood they had made a mistake and they were clear that I had cancelled with Wireless Toyz do to this stressful rodeo ride.
It seems Sprint accounting/billing does not communicate with Sprint's numerous Collection Centers, which means that my name is still attached to this ludicrous bill.  Now these idiots are bombarding me with calls from 999-211-9960.
I called this number and had to enter my cell phone number, as requested, to be taken off Sprint?s call center?s list but how can I be sure this will result in Sprint records taking me off their list as a customer and more importantly, as a customer who doesn't pay their bills?  Absurd!

No question scam. The name they left doesn't belong to the number. At the very least the telco can match that if legit (Not!!!). The number they called is a landline, not a cell phone, and provided by somebody else. They have (so far) pretended to  be Sprint and TMobile. Nice! We have gotten several of these calls, each one with a different customer name and amount. Might not want to call them back! Or maybe donate to a real charity if you feel compelled to pay.

Got a call from them today. After he said it was because of a past due balance I knew it was a scam since i just paid my bill yesterday early. He aske me whats the answer to a security question which is not the security question i arranged. He asked for my sprint pin. After he only got the answers I dont know he told me they had the wrong account and they would take me off the list.

Just got a call from 888-211-9960 telling me I had an overdue charge at Sprint and I needed to call right away and pay online in order to avoid being suspended or have late charges applied to my account.

Very strange since my account had been closed for some time.

Called and then hung up when the answering machine clicked on. I have no idea who this is. I will add them to the Do Not Call Registry. If it is Sprint, they KNOW how to get hold of you!!

I called Sprint via 611 from my phone to ask about this. I have a Simply Everything plan with unlimited everything, and am nowhere near my credit limit. Sprint told me they had no record of my being called, and that number is not theirs. There may be someone out there who knows Sprint/Boost exchange numbers, and is calling people under the premise of an unpaid bill call attempting to get consumer info for identity theft purposes. I informed Sprint of this. Do NOT give them your info! If they call you, call Sprint back direct!

Received several calls from this number requesting me to pay a past bill even though I just paid my bill. States the alert is in regard to an account, but when the caller attempts to state the account number, there is a blank and no account number is provided. This is an attempt to gain money through tricking the sprint customer in providing a one time payment.

willing to give out Sprint phone numbers (legit) but cannot transfer within the company. Like Sprint cannot transfer a call from one location to a different division.
Sprint Fraud Dept says it is not one of their numbers.

i got a call from this number on 2 different occasions and now am getting it from another number with the same info.  the new number calling is 888-335-6963  so beware if you get one from this number also

Have received several calls from this number this wk on my cell phone. First 2 they did not leave a message, but last nite they finally did leave the message to call back it was urgent regarding my sprint account. I know from talkng to the Sprint in the past that they typically text you direct and tell you to press like star 3 on your phone to connect direct with their customer service.. and the fact that my next payment is not due until end of october led me to check it on here..

I saw the number as a missed call when I got in to work this morning. I googled the number to find out who it was. Then I called them back and got a sprint recording. After not pressing any buttons during any of their prompts, I finally spoke to someone. She asked me my name (which I gave her quickly without spelling it, as it's hard to spell), and my mobile number. I asked, "is this Sprint?" to which she responded, "yes it is." I then told her that I don't have any spring accounts and was returning the call to this number to find out what they want. She said maybe I was dialed up by their automatic dialer. To check that, she asked me the number that was called and I gave her two different numbers that could have possibly been called (it's a business, so I don't mind giving out the number). She apologized for ringing us and blamed her automatic dialer. I said, "Ok, goodbye." And that was that.

Just remember, when they call you, they will never ask personal information. If they do, just don't give it. If you really owe money, then it will be accessible in your online account or they will send you a bill in the mail.

Just to all the F**ktards, who think this is real. I just checked my online account on Sprint.com and called sprint and my bill is paid and up to date. I just received a call from this number, and called back. They asked for my zip, and said that my account was $297 overdue. 297 DOLLARS!!!!! So i hung, and checked the website, and called Sprint. SCAM, just as i thought, because I am very good about paying my bills, and $297 is about 6 months of service for me. So DO NOT give this number any money, they will rob you.
