The call says it is from Sprint but it is not really Sprint.  I just got a call from number and called it back and they wanted me to enter payment info on an automated system so I hung up and called Sprint.  They have no record of any call to me and my account is paid.

must be sprint my phone is shut off right now to where i can only receive incoming calls and they just called twice this morning and sec time it called it left a vm but i cant check my vm cuz my phone is off so whoever it is theyre supid for leaving a vm if they were calling cuz my phone is off!

This is a scam. I paid my bill in full this morning - and got this call a few hours later saying my service had been cut off for outgoing calls. Funny, since I immediately called my work number and it went through. DO NOT enter your credit info.

OK... I too have been getting calls from 888-212-8543 which is definately Sprint.  What this number is Sprint collections department calling to reach the previous person who had your cell phone number before you and this has been going with me for the last 6 months with my cell number.

If you push it hard enough, you can actually get thru to the Financial collections department and speak to someone who can put your phone number on the supposed "do not call"list from Sprint.  Good luck with that. I have been promised that before by them that the calls will stop and they do for about 2 weeks then they start again.  Next time this happens...I am going to get them to pay for my entire phone bill...

I am getting numerous calls from this number (and others) for the person who used to have my number (I have lived here 3 years) and I have NO idea who this person was or is but get calls constantly.

His name was Matthew Reed.

I personally never had a phone with Sprint - but this company gives you NO option to tell them they are calling the wrong number.  This is getting SO aggravating as I can't get these people to stop calling and you it's a damn computer.

Sprint is notorious for overcharging and having the wrong charges on a bill. Once, they were trying to make me pay sales tax for a county I didn't even live in. In fact, I didn't even live in that state. I lived in a state where there was NO sales tax. I had to argue and argue with them, speak to several supervisor's but in the end, not only  did they give me a credit for all the extra charges, they gave me an additional credit for my inconvenience. You have to stay firm and DON'T give up. Keep calling them, keep demanding explanations. It's your bill and you have the right to know what exactly you are being charged for. If you have online billing, I recommend saving your bills to your computer every month and keep track of them. Go through them thoroughly. Also, save all receipts of payment. Whether you pay online, over the phone, mail in your payment. Whatever, always keep a record! Include the date, time and method of payment. Also, if you speak to anyone on the phone, get there FULL name. They may try to tell you they can't do that, but insist! You never get the same person if you need to call back, even if they give you a specific number and tell you to ask for "Jane". It never works out. So get the full name, don't be afraid to ask for a supervisor and don't give up! I've found now, that I rarely have billing issues anymore. I think they must have flagged my account. They know now that I will hound them continuously. Don't give up and good luck!

Well there seems to be a lot of anger on this site but as long as I have had Sprint I can only that I have had reasonably priced, good quality cellular service. Maybe I just have had good luck but I've been a customer for 9 years now. After talking to customer service and the Sprint financial dept. I have been reassured that my account is in good standing (always has been) and Sprint has not tried to contact me. In addition, the name in the recording is not mine. Sprint has said that is is a common scam in order to gain account information and open additional lines of service without the account holders knowledge. BE CAREFUL! DO NOT ENTER ANY INFO INTO THIS AUTOMATED SYSTEM! It is most likely a coincidence that some Sprint customers happen to have owed Sprint money while receiving calls from this number.

I GOT A CALL FROM THAT NUMBER 888 212 8543 TRYING TO MADE ME PAID FOR MY SPRING BILL, THANKS GOD THE DAY BEFORE I HAD CALL COSTUMER SERVICE TO FIX OR AS FOR CREDIT IN MY BILL ( AS USUAL, I DO THAT EVERY MONTH) AND I WAS SURE THAT MY BILL WAS ON TIME AND THAT I DID NO HAVE TO PAID NOTHING UNTIL NEXT MONTH.

I CALL COSTUMER SERVICE TODAY, THEY WRITE  THE REPORT BUT I AM SURE THEY ARE DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT, THEY DO NOT CARE.....

My boyfriend and I have used Nextel now Sprint for years. At first it was great service with a reasonable bill and no issues. Then Sprint took over and ever since we have had nothing but problems. First my boyfriend was being charged 500-600 a month for a phone plan with UNLIMITED incoming and 1000 outgoing minutes. He is rarely on the phone but got a larger plan because at the time it was $10.00 more. He hase never in the 7 years he has had the phone ever gone over his minutes, everything was unlimited how can you possibly go over your minutes or direct connect time? Anyway he started calling Sprint to complain and their only answer was he was using too many of his minutes. They then started shutting him off after he would pay an entire bill of 500.00 he knew he didn't owe. After that he started asking for detailed records with every bill to keep track of who, and where he was calling. After 1 year of this he has decided not to pay his bill and has shut his service off altogether. I on the other hand still have this terrible service. My phone is also unlimited which they no longer offer. I am only supposed to be bill 50.00 a month plus the taxes of maybe 10.00 but somehow every month I am charged over 100.00. EVERY MONTH. I fail to understand why if I have unlimited texts and direct connect and incoming I am being charge an additional 60.00 a month for going over my texts msg allotment, or my direct connect time. I d/c 2 people, rarely! I also got my plan 5 years ago and I upgraded to a new phone when my other phone died in 2006. When I went to cancel my phone last month they told me that my 2 year contract that restarted in July 06 doesn't expire until July 2010. How in the world does a 2 year contract that started in 06 not end until 2010? Somewhere along the way the math is not adding up. I am so fed up with Sprint/Nextel I let everyone know not to use them and I will not be extending my "2 yr contract" again.

This number is from the Sprint billing dept. They are outrageous, arrogant, and ignorant. They are the most high priced idiots in all of the cell phone world. They cheat, lie and will promise you the world if you sign. DO NOT AGREE TO ANYTHING they say or promise. Get it in writing first. I have had all types of cell phone coverage over the years, and Sprint is the worst....by far. The worst.

I am so happy to know I'm not the only one getting screwed by sprint!  I have had this phone for 6 years, it was part of a joint account.  Ever since the other number was cancelled, my bills have been outrageous!  Also, they told me that in order to switch the phone into my name I have to give them $300.  I'm switching to Verizon as soon as my contract is up!

I received a call from this number.  They left a message, but it was a little suspicious that they did not say my name, just left a long pause where my name would be.  Called sprint who told me that they did not call me and my account is in good standing order and also told me to just ignore the call from this number.  That's telling me that this is a fraud!

I have been with sprint for a long time. Unlike many customers, I argue the overage (no matter how small) every single month. When broken down line by line, they ALWAYS credit the amount.

BUT...you have to do the legwork. A couple months ago, they had to credit over $400 back.

If you need any help with the process, let me know and I would be glad to help! I have a spreadsheet template that has always worked. Also, you should be able to go back 4-6 months.

You're not alone Andrea. I'm not sure why, but it seems I ALWAYS owe sprint something. It never feels right and I know they've been sticking it to me, but I'm too busy to dig deep into their evil doings to get to the bottom of it.

No matter how many times I've asked, I still don't know what it means when they say I have a limit of such and so many minutes until I reach that limit, yet they've shut me off time and time again.

I hate them. Yes, hate!

I'm going back to dixie cups and string. Cheaper and more reliable. :)

I have been dealing with fraudulence concerning my sprint wireless device and a network card I had cancelled two months ago. I am continuously having to pay some outrageous amount just to keep my service on. Every time I  check my account for some reason I always seem to be late according to sprint. I have given them $300 dollars already for the month of August and supposedly I owe another $300 for the remaining of August in which they already turned off my service and I had to bi*** with them to get my service turned back on!!! For the past six months my bill each month has been no less than $500 dollars. How is this possible?? Especially when I have signed up for the unlimited simply everything plan and I have not gone over my minutes!!!
This phone # 1-888-212-8543 has been calling often along with another # which is 1-888-335-6963. continuing to get the runaround from sprint customer service, lost calls etc.    What is going on???
