Could they possibly bypass the settings on the phone so the call was announced by an audible ring tone? I hate ring tones and was horrified to hear my phone start blaring away when called by this number. I thought perhaps the vibrate only setting was no longer selected but have since verified it was indeed set. So lesson learned, don't assume vibrate only is 100% courtesy of Verizon.

BTW, I have Pay as You Go service if that matters.

It's Verizon's new message retrieval alert, getting you to check your voice mail and take your money, courtesy service. It will keep nagging you until you check your messages. If you have the pay as you go, it will call and let you know that your balance is low... even if it isn't. :-0  They say it's a free call, but my minutes went down. So, I'd ignore these friendly reminders until free time kicks in. Gonna get ya any way they can. Have a great day... we're the phone company.

This number 1-888-214-6703 is from Verizon Wireless. They are calling to remind those customers that there account is set to expire if they do not replenish there pre-paid wireless account. It's airtime free for Verizon Wireless customers. If you stay on the phone and listen to the message, you will have the option of letting them take your number off of there calling list. You can press 9 to do this at anytime during the message.

I didn't know they were surveys. I thought it was a reminder only. Hey, I also had a Virgin Mobile--you can get free minutes thx to sugar mamma on their website--however, i gave the phone to my mom cause I'd have trouble receiving signal at school

Yeah, this is verizon wireless effing scum..I'm going back to pay per minute with NO start charges like these b*****ds charge me..I'm cheap, but they cost me too effing much.

I got another call today at 4:01 P.M. I picked up and this time I got an automated message from Verizon encouraging me to buy more minutes.

Got a couple from this number today, Nov 11 on my Verizon phone. One call at 9:04 A.M. and one just a couple minutes ago at 12:04 P.M. The one time I picked up there was no response.

Gotten a few phone calls from the number, no message, and I'm not wasting minutes to call it back.

3-calls 9Am !2PM 4PM weird voice mail/cut off  nothing audible

Sept 4th :: 11:34AM - 12:01 - 4:02

followed by the number 973-942-5275 about 25 minutes after the last call

Keep getting calls from this number.  They leave no messages!  I'd like to know how Verizon can sell my number since it is an emergency use only and only two people have it!!

i received three calls also from this number at 10am, 12pm, and 4pm- no message was left either. Who does that???

Got three calls from this number today on my cell at almost exactly 9am, 12pm, and 4pm. Didn't bother to answer any of the calls. I make an active effort not to give my cell number out to where I'll end up getting calls like this, so unless Verizon has my number listed somewhere I don't know about, whoever is calling got my number through illegal means.
