Same here. He made me so mad I'm shaking and my blood pressure is sky high. I really think this is a scam because I can't find anything out on him. I do have some things that were repossessed thanks to my deadbeat ex husband but they of course are not calling him, They are calling me and upsetting me. His latest message told me I was a coward who wouldn't face my problems and pay my debts and I needed to stop living in the past. What all that meant I do not know.

I totally relate to everything you are saying. He just left me a message telling me that since I left him a message at 12am I was too big of a coward to deal with my problems and he was going to sue me. I told him to go after my deadbeat ex husband for whatever it was. My blood pressure was through the roof and I was shaking so bad I couldn't even type. The number showing up on my phone was 1-800-214-7837. Just an fyi for you if you are still having problems. That is another number he uses I guess. Believe me my nerves are still shot right now and I am dealing with a host of issues as well. This "man" if you want to call him that should not only be fired he should never be allowed to work in collection or whatever the heck it is he does other than hide behind a phone line harrassing people. I gave him my ex's number but I know he won't call him because if it is in fact for a collection everything was in my name b/c my ex's credit was shot. Not mine is too thanks to him.
I worked in the financial industry and know all about these guys and he's messed with the wrong person this time. We're doing a little more research and getting a lawyer to get him to stop harrassing me.

My husband received a call from emerson abbott, claiming that they were about to sue us but that he could work out a settlement. The settlement that they worked our was considerably lower than what the suit was for. However mr abbott said that either he or his secretary would send me an email confirming the terms of the agreement. I have received no such email. When I called back the first time the secretary answered, got extremely defensive and hung up on me when I wouldn't give her my husband's ssn. I called again and she was marginally more polite when I explained that I was just verifying that they were a legitimate entity.  I checked my email again and still no information. I called back again today and spoke with mr. abbott, he was belligerent and rude to me, I told him that we have the money but that I wanted some confirmation from them before I sent them anything and he hung up on me, I called back and he told me that he was tired of playing my games and that if I didn't wire the money by oct 31 that my husband's paycheck would be short on the first. If this is a legitimate debt collector I will be happy to pay this money, however as they have given me no confirmation, I am hesitant to send them anything.

Seems Mr Howell called looking for me with a case number. Wow they only call 3 times a day and leave a voicemail every other month. If it was a big case they would of actually told me last year when they started to call bunch of bottom feeders it looks like

I received two calls on June 14,2012 from Rick Howell from this 888-214-7804 number also.  What's even crazier they called my home looking for someone else.  It was so early in the morning i didn't answer the first call, however, seems they waited about ten-fifteen minutes and called right back... I told him stop calling my freaking house; there is no one living here by that name.  I basically told me to blow out my a** i don't even know who he is or where he's calling from.   Unreal this is not over I think they got the wrong one this time!

I got a call from 888-214-7804 but it comes up on the caller ID as unknown! This Mr. Abbott leaves a message to call in Ref. to file # ****( my last name) but he can not even spell it out! This is bull.... I just got a name of a guy , but they did not give any other identification.

i dont even know what  they wanted ,all they asked for was my social number when i said no they hung up and keep hanging up wont even tell me who they are? what the hell is this all about ?stop being rude and someone give me answers. who do i contact to find out more

Emerson-Abbott called and left a message on my ex-husband phone telling him to call the 1-888-217-7804 number back regarding a debt about Denise Medlin. At first my ex-husband didn't think it was the right Denise Medlin and then when he called Emerson-Abbott disclosed all my business with him even my social security number. We have been divorced over 19 years and I have never put him down for a reference for anything. When I found this out I then called Emerson-Abbott myself and he told me that this company was asking him to call me, that he was going to sue me, then I asked him could I ask him a question. I asked him how he got my ex-husband home phone number. He then told me that I put him for a reference. I had not put him down for the reference since we have divorced over 19 years ago.He told me he had not told my ex-husband anything. I then told him that my ex-husband sure knew alot about the situation for him not to have told him anything. I told him that I had spoken with an attorney and for me to call the consumer protection and the Better Business Bureau. Then he got really ugly and said 'I will make sure that you get served".  He then slammed down the telephone.  This man has no respect.  He is a bully.  I really didn't know if he was going to send someone to rough handle me. I was afraid.  He is harrassing me, my ex-husband, and my family. This has to stop.  He has given me a nervous condition and high blood pressure.  I am already under the doctors care he  made my condition worst. This person should be fired immediately. I am still under doctor care for cancer and nerves

If you would  pay your bills they wouldnt need to call you.

I had someone call my number from 8882147804 but never leaves a message.   When I call back it tells me to leave a message for Emerson Abbott or press 2 to connect to his cell phone.    Of course the coward didn't answer but instead called me back with his number blocked (like a coward) and asked why I had called him.    What a crock.    I have a grandson in Iraq and I don't like to get these calls from idiots who have nothing better to do but bother people and tie up the lines for more important calls.    I think he should be prosecuted.

@ 2:25 PM (mst) today another call from this number...telling me that it is an important call and referencing me to an account number... It is a recorded message from a woman who always mispronounces my name... WTF?

Michelle Scott called and mumbled so badly the message was barely audible.  Basically said that she was calling from the office of Rick Phillips and that it was in my best interest to give them a call. Left a number of 888-214-7804. If they were reputable they would not be A) calling me at work  B)  come up as unavailable on Called ID C) would leave some information as to what the heck they want.  I don't call random people back who just because they think they know me.  I owe no one nothing and these idiots need to get a life.

Got a call from "Rick Phillips". Message said it was regarding a legal matter and that a suit was going to be filed Sept 7.  I am to have my attorney call.  NO IDEA what this is about.  I have not called back and am not going to.  IMO, if there is a legal matter against me, I would already know about it.  Any reputable attorney would not show as "unavailable" on caller ID and would have stated in the message what the "legal matter" is regarding.

They sent me a bill and I matched the address to the Better Business Bereau and they was on there. . They had the right account number. Jim Beers and rick phillips are debt collector representatives. If you owe an cannot come up with the exact amount. They can work with you.

I received a call from Rick Phillips about an account in 2001. I explained my situation but forgot to get an account number. I called him back for an account number to compare with my notes. he stated that he will call me back because he didn't have the records in his office but it was in the building. He will call me back with that information.

This number keep calling my sick & elderly mother. 888  214-7804. On May 17,2010 2:00pm I called and talk with Rick Phillips. I told Rick the person he was trying to reach wasn't related to my mother.They do not know each other. I told him my mother was sick & elderly and please don't call her again.  He was very very rude and ask why was their last name the same.  As if two people cannot have the same last name & not be related. My mother is 70 years old and do not owe anyone anything.  What is the world coming to when we allow people like this to HARASS the Elderly!!

888-214-7804  I am an employer these guys call over employees from over 2 years ago  They Are RUDE and breaking the law!!!!  Call them back record date time and who you spoke with.  KEEP A LOG every time they call and inform them twice that they have the wrong number, also record your conversation with them!!!!  Get an attourney and you can sue for Harrasment!  It's $5000.00 in your pocket from them and legal fees.
 You can not use the recording in court, but the best statement in court is when asked do you remember the conversation date and time you can answer yes I reviewed my recordings before entering the court house. Any Judge or Jury can not argue with context when you have reviewed your recording and documented your calls.  It's time this crap stops they have no right to harras someone not pertaining to the case. It's illegal and you can win money from the shiesters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep receiving calls from Tony Law at Rick Phillips office about an ex-boyfriend that I haven't been with for 20 years!  They give a file number and want me to have him call them back.  They need to Get a Clue!! (and stop calling me!)  They definately aren't very current on their info.
The calls show as UNAVAILABLE on my Caller id, but they leave the 888-214-7804 call-back number in their message.

Rec'd several calls on my cell phone, same messages as above ("have your or your attorney contact me regarding a legal matter"...). They're now calling my job. I told him it was my work number and to not call this number again, and hung up.  He has called back to back to back.

Had a call left on my answer machine about a law suit case against me and filed, with some phony case number said to call rick phillips office. Guy with a southern accent was on their answer machine, saying he was out, and have a nice day. to leave my name and number and he would call me back.. what a joke ...what a jerk...what an A-s-H-L !!!

I just had an unknown number call my cell phone and leave a message to call him back at this number.  Same message as above:

"This is Eric Jackson calling from the office of Rick Phillips.  Please have your attorney give me a call back at (888) 214-7804."

WTF?!?  They're going to need to provide just a little bit more information.
