They called my number asking for my friend and then were rude to me when I wanted to know why and how they have my number
Mel 2011-06-06 21:05:07 Unknown
I keep receiving phone calls from this number. When I answer, no one is there. When I try to call the number back, all it does is ring.
nancy 2011-06-06 21:05:07 Unknown
same number as above keep calling just called for last time looking for who knows who. Have death in family and have to argue with these people while waiting for important calls. Will contact state attorney general put a good end to them as do not call seems to be on vacation
JR 2011-06-06 21:05:07 Unknown
Alliance One is their name just found that out but the don't leave messages and will not speak to anyone but the person form whom they are calling....STRANGE indeed even bill collectors and telemarketers attempt to leave msgs.
JR 2011-06-06 21:05:07 Unknown
They are debt collectors trying to only speak to a particular person
because they know that ppl will probably not deliver the msgs, but its still a wild assumption and calling and hanging up is not professional if u want ppl to pay u or pay attention to u leaving a msg. is always a smarter option. By the way THEY CAN STILL SEE UR NAME EVEN IF U PRESS *67 to block ur name...my isn't that interesting guess they don't know that some ppl get phones under other names besides their own sometimes LOL....
Sef 2011-06-06 21:05:07 Unknown
This number has called me quite a few times just this year. I refuse to answer if they can't leave me a massage. I'm so tired of this already. I definitely don't want to get hung up on, that ticks me off when they do that crap. I'm just glad I could google those losers lol.
LiNDA 2011-06-06 21:05:07 Unknown

Don't worry. In a few months, Google Voice will be out of BETA testing and we will not need to deal with jerk collection agencies anymore. How sad.......

I just called a collection call stop agency about this company after they were so rude to me, my family was on vacation we had paid for us and I asked them to call me back in two weeks they said they wouldn't unless I made arrangements with m them they will not only tell them to stop but make then pay them they have called everyday, the stop call company told me that if I can get another number for them to legit the company they will help me get it stopped, and if not then alliance will pay ME! so if anyone else can get another number from them it would help alot.

I hate these people. There seems to be some confusion though. Is it NCO or Alliance One?

Bothered and annoyed also 2008-11-25 15:47:30 Unknown
These same people call me about an account that isn't even mine. Try filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Also, you can send the company a written letter to cease calling you at work. Information is available at http://www.ftc.gov/. Hope this helps.

A few of these calls may be legitimate collections calls. BUT many of them may not be and/or may be harassing in nature and transgressing the law.
IF they have either your name or SSN correct, but you are sure you never had a credit card or other debt with the bank/company in question, then you may be a victim of some form of fraud (possibly identity theft).
Check your credit report! You are entitled to 1 FREE credit report per year from Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax (credit reporting companies). Check your credit report regularly!

These guys just started with me. It's been going on for approx. a month and I'm really tired of trying to contact them via my cell phone. I googled the 888 number displayed on my cell and found out they are Alliance One and they collect for Capitol One. I have never had any business contact or relationship with Capitol One and I WILL NEVER do business with a group who employ sleaze bags like NCOGroup crud. Gee, what's in your wallet ? Would anyone let these a**les look into their wallet ??

They were calling my cell as well. You can get them to stop by sending them an email to recruitingmn@allianceoneinc.com with a version of the following message:
In accordance with the rights afforded me in the US Fair Debt Collection Act and under the laws of the state of #######, I am informing your company that you are to cease all further contact with me regarding AllianceOne Receivables Management, Inc., account #XXX999 for (Name). This includes, but not limited to phone, mail, and email. Any further contact by your company or on your behalf will be promptly reported to the FTC and other appropriate agencies/entities and considered harassment.
This email was sent to the ?Contact Us? link on your company website. If this is not the appropriate contact point, please forward this email to the appropriate person(s) to avoid any negative repercussions for AllianceOne resulting from further contact.
Then, if they contact you again, you note the date and time, name of person calling, and the phone number. You go to
https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01
and file a complaint with the FTC. I have used this method with several collection companies in the past and they stop calling within a week or less.

They are now AllianceOne Receivables Management, Inc.
The NCO Group website is no longer available. See my note below

I have been getting phone calls from them for weeks, several times a day, and they never leave messages. When I called them back they asked for a Shawn something or other (not me...), and I told them to take my name off the list, which they said they would do. I'm skeptical about that one. I think this exact same thing happened to me about 6 months ago. How is it legal to call random people, run up their phone bills, asking for people that have nothing to do with them???
sonia 2008-01-30 01:45:44 Unknown
They call several times a day and it is hard for me to get to the phone as I am disabled. I don't have a credit card or owe anyone as I live on a small disability income. I am on the "do not call list". These constant phone calls are stressful which causes my illness to flare up. I think the only way to stop these rude and inconsiderate calls is for all of us to get together and file a lawsuit against these companies that continue to call us.

This Number has called several times per day for over 2 months. I have tried to call the # several times throughout the day to no avail. I finally reached them today and they are Alliance collections collecting for Capital One. I have never had a Voicemail left once. They told me that they do not leave a voicemail due to it never picks up. I indicated that I have received voicemails from many relatives and business's alike even in the last day. As I work for the phone Company for 14 years myself, I know this is not true. I thanked them for their time and told them if they call in future, leave a voicemail, or do not bother to call back.

if they don't stop calling my cell phone im gonna do something about it and if it don't stop then im gonna turn you guys in and sue..
Chad 2007-12-31 21:56:28 Unknown
These fools are so rude. They keep calling my cell phone after I told them numerous of times that they have the wrong number. They are looking for someone name Darnel Champion. And when I told them that i was not him, the man said yes you are. OMG!!
Sara 2007-12-21 00:56:25 Unknown
That number, 888-214-7812, calls my cellular phone AT LEAST four times a day, at completely random times. They claim to calling about a credit that is deliquent, though it was paid off and closed more than a year ago. Worried that something was wrong, I called my old card company, and they confirmed that the account had been closed, and informed me they have never used an agency at that number. Every time I pick up the phone, these people rudely harrass me. I'm in the process of changing my number, and reccommend anyone else do the same.
