Everyone just keep reporting them to your Attorney General's office and the FTC!....Also save the voicemails that they leave for you. I have already filed 3 complaints. Every message they leave is more threatening then the last so I just keep on filing complaints....These people are out of control. If more people complain they might people to stop them.

I keep getting calls from a man name Jason Cook. He keeps telling me that there are charges filled against me and I need to contact him immediately. After attempting to call the number and not getting through, I gave up. He called again today and said he verified my information and he is going to serve me papers. Then he said good luck, you will need it. Im glad to know that this is a scam.

several calls from these people in the last few years. until recently, the number would be a six digit India based number, the in the last week I have been called. four times from 267-867-1053, asking to call the 888 number. the first call was to ask how often I speak to the person they were calling about and how soon I can get the message to them... this from a guy with a very good American accent. the next three calls I let go to voicemail, and the messages have rudely demanded that I call them back and told me good luck and they have an address for me... best part is, they think I am the person they're trying to scam! I wish there could be something done about them. they always claim the issue is from a complaint from a company listed simply as "Global."

This guy called me four times, I mistakenly answered because he too used a local number to trap me into answering and he told me I had an hour to "make it right" or he was coming to my house.

Later that evening, I heard from my mother (our last names are different so STILL wondering how that number was found) and he called her with the same threat "needed to find me to serve me papers".

I am sooooo over this! Can't the government do something? I am frustrated because my cell phone carrier won't let me block numbers.

Receiving the same message from a Scott Thomas. Total jerk. He called my cell phone 11 times in a row yesterday and only left me one message saying that there were charges against me and that I was already given a chance to call. and that I was going to be served. If this was legit they wouldn't tell you ahead of time that you were being served they would just show up. This guy is def. violating several laws here. He never mentions what company he is calling from or what its in regards to. Only states to call the firm handling my case at 1-888-219-6807. He is very aggressive and rude. he has even called my work and some how got my step dads work cell and is now calling him. I have never used him on anything that I have ever applied for ect. I have already reported him to the attorney general's office and the FTC.

Theyre scam artists. I went thru this a few months ago regarding a different number. They are buying your info from a past collection that you may or may not have paid off and trying to collect on it. They are not licensed or legit bill collectors by any means, and can be sued for their illegal activities. They will never serve you with "papers". Thats just a scare tactic to get you to pay them money quickly before they get shut down and open up another 877 or 855 number and continue.

The "debt" is not owned by these people. Otherwise they would follow the law when it comes to contacting you and representing themselves as a legit debt collector. Having someone call you and not identifying themselves, or telling you theyre going to serve you with "papers", or not letting you know that "this is an attempt to collect a debt..." should set off a few alarms that it is a scam.

If anyone calls you and refers you to this number, I suggest finding out who is originally owed the money and contact them directly. They will tell you who you should contact from there, and I can guarantee you that it wont be these scam artists.

Know who youre giving your money to before you set up payments out of fear and threats. No one will EVER serve you papers with advance notice. If its legit, theyll just find you and serve you. Thats how it works

Heres a link to some more info and some of that is pasted below: http://www.fdcpalawyeronline.com/

Debt collectors may not:

Use threats of violence or harm against the person, property, or reputation
Publish a list of consumers who refuse to pay their debts
 Use obscene or profane language
Repeatedly call on the telephone to annoy and without identifying themselves
 Advertise your debt
 Falsely imply that they are attorneys or government representatives;
Falsely imply that you have committed a crime
Falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit bureau

Illegal Actions of a debt collector include:

Calling you at work and knows that it is inconvenient or that your employer disapproves or forbids it.
A debt collector knows that an attorney, whose contact information is known or is easy to locate, represents you and the debt collector continues to contact you.
Debt collectors can only communicate with other people to obtain contact
Misrepresenting the amount, character, or legal status of a debt
Communicating false credit information about you
Refusing to honor your dispute or cease communication rights
Threatening to take your property or garnish your wages without a court order (judgment).
 Intimidating you, AND your family
Endangering your reputation, or your property
 Using profane or obscene language
Painting the Debt and credit issues are matters of criminal law while in actuality it is civil law
Tricking you into accepting charges for collect calls, telegrams, or a C.O.D
Attempting to cash a post-dated check before the date written on the check
Claiming to be an attorney or sends a letter made to look like it is from an attorney when he is not an attorney
Sending a letter that is made to look like a government or court document when it isn't

You can sue:

You may have the right to sue a collector in a court of law. If you win, you may recover money for the damages you suffered and, in certain jurisdictions, you may recover statutory damages. In addition, court costs and attorney's fees may also be recovered.

You can report to the office of your state attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission;

Report any problems you have with a debt collector to the office of your state attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission. Many states have their own debt collection laws and your state attorney general can help you determine your rights. In addition, you may contact a local attorney to determine your legal options regarding an alleged FDCPA violation.

Total scam...I too have received these calls from them in the past around the same time last year and it is always the same thing. I have reported them to the Attorney Generals office for them to take care of them at this point.  I have looked up all their information, along with the recorded messages left by them and forwarded to the Attorney Generals office to have them investigated.  Good luck to them in court!!!

I have also been receiving calls from this same number, 888-219-6807, and they told me that they were going to serve me at work unless I verified my home info. So happy that we live in the day and age of the internet where you can research this stuff first. Definitely a scam and what's even more interesting is that I seem to receive this same type of call every year in January. Don't fret about it and just ignore it. From all of the other sites that I've reviewed regarding this number and the "Global" company that they call and identify themselves as working for, NO ONE HAS EVER ACTUALLY BEEN SERVED WITH ANYTHING!! They just called my job three times today and I finally told them to go ahead and serve me and the guy was  extremely rude and told me, "Good luck in court, you're gonna need it!" Complete scam artists! Please don't pay them anything!! Hope this helps...
