My daughter-in-law just got the same message. No one can touch your government money but the government. Do not oblige them by even talking to them, it's all a form of harassment. They will tell people whatever to scare them into getting all your info. mainly your bank account numbers. DO NOT give them anything that relates to your personal business. Contact whoever you can that deals with fraudulent behavior like this, as each state has their own laws. I hope you the best, and please just hang up on these scammers.

They Show up as Global and a number. you should contact your bank, if you provided them your bank card, they can simply close it and reissue. I was a victim of these scammers and I called my bank.  they just actually called me demanding for a payment. I told them that before I give you any money, I need documents, which any collections agencies are supposed to, they said we'll just have a locator find you. I said okay. so we will see, but from I've researched they are bunch of scammers. do not give out any info and cancel your card.

Consolidated
P.O. Box 1844

Multiple calls today to my cell phone and work. Judy Winters spoke with my HR department and told them there were criminal charges against me. Gave me the 888-730-4516 number and a "claim number" - I tried calling the 832-838-1024 number that appeared on my caller ID and received automated message that the person was unavailable and the voicemail was full.  - When I called the 888 number the company name was "Consolidated" - when I spoke with the representative there I informed them that their representative had been making harrassing phone calls to my place of employment and threatening criminal action. I also made them aware that I AM AWARE that these practices are illegal. This is apparently in reference to a very old debt that was satisfied years ago. By the entries I see here, "Judy" has many aliases. I have notified police and sent a text to landline message to cease and desist. These people are ruthless and despicable. The representative at Consolidated said that they were "trying to help me" - and they had not called me, but had hired a locating service and that is who called me. She said if I wanted to appear in court then that was my choice. I said if she had papers to file then go right ahead. This will probably stop for now and then rear it's very ugly head again in a few months.

Calling again as ?Global?
855-205-6790
?Claim Number? = 11299-13
Multiple calls today to my place of employment ? spoke to multiple managers and threatened legal action. Told anybody they could speak to that they were trying to reach me to resolve a debt.
Incoming calls were showing up on Caller ID from multiple phone numbers
859-951-3283
650-618-5719
424-230-3615
832-838-1038
Callers name was ?Monte?. After three calls to the 855 number and referencing the case number ? telling them to stop calling my place of employment, they claimed they were not a debt collector, but rather a Pre-litigation firm and were not subject to the rules of the FDCPA. ? they refused to give me a mailing address so that I could send a written request for debt verification. They also refused to give me any information about the original creditor. The Calls from ?Monte? continued to my place of business and cell phone all afternoon. He was very abusive and belligerent. Threatening to call everyone I work with and my corporate office. Every time I spoke with him, I told him if he had papers to deliver to me, then come on. He knows where I work, so I would be happy to take whatever it is he has for me. That just made him even more angry and he continued to call repeatedly, threatening to call everyone I know and work with ? and my corporate office. I wished him good luck. He is also very rude and abusive to everyone he speaks with. The calls finally stopped late afternoon. Of course, he never showed up with papers.
What I have realized is that these calls are never coming from someone who is actually in the area. Several different numbers show up on caller ID when they call you. If you dial any of those numbers, you will get a message that says ?This office of investigation does not accept calls.? Or something to that effect ? in a very manly man voice. The recording also tells you it is extension 500. When you dial the toll free number and press extension 500, guess what? You get the same recording.
These people have a system. And I?m sure it works on some people who they are able to intimidate, scare, or embarrass. The sad thing is, there is virtually nothing you can do to get it to stop ? until they get tired of trying and move on to their next victim.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I had a run in with these ***holes too. Curtis Watson called my store and told me he had sealed papers to give me. He gave me a phone number and a file number. I called and spoke to someone who said that I owe money for something I have never heard of. I explained that and was transferred to Caitlin. She said I could make a payment and she would give Curtis a release order. I told her I would have to verify what she was saying with my bank, not an option for her. Curtis called back and spoke to my employee telling her I was in big trouble, and she had to give him my district managers number. She refused. He then called other stores in my territory and spoke to a different dm telling her I was in trouble and he needed to get my dm. I had alrrady given her a heads up btw. He called my store again and told me that he needed to call my corporate office. I told him go ahead, you're in violation of the fair debt collectors act. He replied that I didn't know anything because I work at sally beauty supply and I'm 43. I asked if he was calling me stupid. He said yes I am. I told him I was filing a complaint with the Michigan ag. I then filed my complaint and calked Caitlin to let her know. Her response was that she had already received it. I have not heard from Curtis since and he doesn't answer his phone. Go figure.

Ashley, that was my issue. They would not give me any information at all. I just filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General's office. Also filed a complaint with the Federal trade commission. I gave them the phone number of the so called server ROY DILLION and gave them his phone number plus the number to this Global Pre-Litigation.

I didn't receive a call from this same phone (I don't think) but I have received several calls from blocked numbers and different 800 or 888 numbers.  i've googled the numbers and they all come back as a scam according to websites like this.  Anyway, they leave messages saying there has been a claim filed against me and I need to contact them regarding the case before a decision is made without me.  I was even contact by a "local" number saying he was hired by the company to "track me down" and get information regarding the case so they could send me information.  He gave me another 888 number to call along with a reference number.  He said the company was called Global and it was a pre-litigation firm but he couldn't tell me where they were based out of or any other information regarding the company or the "case".

These people are not collectors! They are fraudulent and attempting to get your address and information to steal stuff or abuse your identity. Any good collector...which I happen to be...has numerous methods of location information and addresses and TRUST ME...it is not necessary to verify your address if there is something we have to come get from you, as we would have done that before it was even given to you. Do not put up with those people. REPORT THEM to the National Do Not Call Registry here: https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx. There is a right way and a wrong way to do collections. These people are in clear violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and can also be reported to the Federal Trade Commission here http://www.ftc.gov.

These people called my home, cell and friend and left a very scarry message about pressing charges, I called them back from work and they have some correct information about a debt that my husband has, but when I asked for there website or any information that can prove who they are, they couldn't they just said they would see me in court.  They say they are Global Pre-Litigation, it's crazy, if they were really wanting a payment, they should send me something in the mail, but they also said that they couldn't do that because the case could go to court before I get the letter.  I will wait and go to court, I will not give my information over the phone.

These people called our home, cell and my friend, leaving a terrible message stating charges have been charged against us and that if I don't pay something over the phone today that they will see us in court.  I asked them for there website so I can verify who they are, but was told they do not have a website.  I then told them I would not give my credit card over the pone and they told me ok, then we will see you in court.  I told him to send me something in the mail proving who they are and then I would send a payment, they have the correct information, I have a debt, but he told me if they don't resolve it today then it going to court and that they couldn't send a letter to me.  This could be on our credit report and these people are using it, don't know, but not good.  I will wait to go to court.
