They called 7/26/12, id displayed "Toll Free". I answered, no one there. 888-222-5555 ? I suspect that is bogus, far too much of a coincidence. Like calls that end in "-0000". So reporting them does little good. One of my friends in telecom says with IP calls (from a computer), the Caller ID can display just about anything.

Suggestion to all: this is an election year. Your House Congresscritter is up for renewal, possibly a Senator as well, but the house has a smaller district (OK, not in Wyoming). So bug him/her about this. Get the FTC to start enforcing the Do Not Call list. A couple of megabuck lawsuits will stop a lot of it. The phone company can trace the call, no matter what they claim. Right now, no reason to. Red or Blue, lots of folks are upset about this. Tell Congress we "are mad as @#$% and won't take it any more."

When enough formal complaints are registered through the government website, the number is investigated and can be blocked from calling withing the United States.  This is the ONLY website to go to for repeat offenders to get action taken against the company dialing.

Received a call from this number.  No response when I answered.  Just dead silence.  Tried to call back and it said that the number could not be reached from my calling area.

And exactly HOW might this be accomplished?

Called around 3:10 p.m.  Three rings & hung up - no message.  Caller ID showed only "TOLL FREE."

Received call from this # at 8:10 p.m. MST.  No one on the line, fast disconnect.

Keep getting calls from this number. they don't leave a message and if you do answer the phone no one comes on the line and eventually they hang up! I tried calling the number back and just get a weird fast busy signal.

7:30pm on 5/31/2012 got a call from 888-222-5555.  My caller ID said "unknown caller." I answered and no one responded.
Will post the number on Facebook to alert others!

Caller tried to get credit card number.

A call with no message left.  Who is this?

Got a call on my Ooma phone system from this number and there was nobody there. I blocked the call in Ooma to prevent any future calls.

I have gotten sever call from this number. I let it ring twice so my Caller ID works. There is never anyone there.

I received a call from this on my cell and called back from a land line. I received a message when calling this back stating that I was calling an area that cannot be reached from my calling area...sounds like a scam to me.
