Debt Collector
I have had several calls from him.  The check was $44.00.  He wants $206.00 I made a payment arrangement with him. He got the first payment but not the second because I lost my card and had to wait for a new one.  He is calling me now about the other payment and when I call him back, All I gey is a busy signal. Why should he get another payment? The check was only $44.00.

andrew blake called me a bunch of times saying he was a lawyer. started then basically threatening me to pay. wouldn't say where he was calling from or send me an actual notice until after it was paid. if he wasn't a condescending b****ole on the phone maybe people would actually pay him.

Andrew blake is not a legitimate lawyer. He works for the lawyer. I've been on the phone with him so many times and everytime i ask to speak to the actual lawyer, he said that I could not. Only a lawyer representing me could talk to the lawyer.

I can confirm that, in my case at least, Andrew Blake is a legitimate lawyer working for the Crystal Moroney law firm.  I just got off of the phone with fedchex and double checked with them before giving over any sensitive information.

It is a violation of the FDCPA for a caller to refuse to MAIL proof that the debt is yours and proof that the caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  Any caller who refuses to mail this documentation is owed nothing, per the FDCPA.

Report the caller to the FTC, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  It is also a violation of federal law to pretend to be an officer of the law or an attorney, so your caller has - even if the company he's calling from is legitimate - committed multiple violations of the FDCPA.

He is legit but anyone having issues with him I suggest to call the company itsself and make a complaint bc I just did. The main number is 888-223-0010. They were pissed when they heard how he talked to me and said he is not an attourney but instead an legal assistant.

I got a call from this number. The caller ID showed my own number with a * in the front of it, my first clue. I picked up in the middle of the call and talked to Mr. Andrew Blake. He went on about a check that was turned over to a AAA Collection company. He gave me the amount, date and a file number. Told me he would wait until the following Monday for me to research it. The amount he gave me was not found in my bank account records. I tried calling him back and got a voice mail that was full, second clue. I will follow up with him and follow the advice given by Alfalfa and ask for a validation notice. Very leery of they whole thing.

I've received several calls from an Andrew Blake from the Crystal Moroney Law firm and I wont lie, I was about to pay online today but I decided to first look up this 888-223-0884 number and see what other people have to say about it. I really doubted the credibility of this guy from the start, but now I'm convinced that it's one of those numbers that rip people off.

"Andrew Blake" called me from the "attorney's office" over several weeks looking for a guy named Andrew M*****, and left me multiple urgent voice messages. As it turns out I'm from a small town and went to High School with Andrew M and he is a total POS so I didn't give two craps and never returned the messages. Today I got tired of this guy calling me so I called him and told him this was no longer Andrew's number and asked him to remove my number.  He called me a liar and hung up on me.  He was very rude and raised his voice, but I can't say I didn't do the same thing.

Debt Collector
Was contacted at 1:15 pm and gentleman named Blake Andrews asked for a LeeSandra. I explained he had the wrong number and he refuted my claim. He stated that he had a recorded conversation with me and that he and the judge would review it. I tried again to explain that he had the incorrect person, Andrew became even more belligerent and threatened to make a recommendation for judgement against this poor person and subsequently hung up. I looked up his name and found this site- where i called the 888 number posted and low and behold there he was Blake Andrews. I gave him my name and tried to explain again that I was not the person he called to speak with. He was still not believing then he said oh wait i cross referenced and we have a file against you. I must of made  mistake. I vehemently explained that his behavior was unprofessional & unbecoming and he said have my layer contact him then he hung up again. I tried to call back and he put me on everlasting hold.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Called and left 3 "urgent"  messages this month at my job stating he was Andrew Blake from the lawyer's office (no firm name, etc) and had a legal matter that required attention today by 4pm (each time) or he would have to tell his client I am unwilling to settle the case with his office.
