Continual messages left daily--not really messages because there is nothing said! It is so annoying to check messages and they are all blanks from this number. 888-223-8082. They are calling about my son's student loan. He has deferred payments because he is in graduate school and he doesn't live with us now.

Started get these phone calls, about 2 a day. Only the first time did they leave me a VM.

I actually answered the last time they called. Overall he was fairly polite, but pried a little too much as to why we were late on a payment. This was the first time we'd missed and it's because my wife pays our bills and she's pregnant (ever heard of pregnant brain?). Anyways, he asked if there was another phone number or even a work number I'd like to give him in case he couldn't reach me on my cell. Oh yeah, let me just get those out for ya...yeah right.

Was let go from my previous job.  While I was applying and looking for another job I applied for a forebarence since I was unable to make their ridiculous payments.  I was shocked to hear that they denied me the forebarence because I was told that I did not qualify for it.  I asked how do I not qualify for it when i'm not working or able to make payments during right now?  They explained I should ask friends and family for help.  how is that ethical?  I'm sure under the guidelines for a forebarence that they are just bending the rules to make sure no one qualifies so that they can continue the threats to students so that they hopefully repay once they learn they cannot get a forebarence.  The lady then explained that I could get a forebarence if I knew the date that I would be starting a new job.  I explained that I was looking for a job and have no idea when I would be starting a new job... and if I knew when I was starting a new job I wouldn't be asking for forebarence anyways... so according to Chase the only time you are allowed a forebarence is if your between jobs and know the start date of when you will begin your new job?  Makes no sense.

I got a call from this number this morning (first of many, from the looks of it!). I'm in a similar situation to two of the previous commenters. I am now disabled and unable to work and I'm in the (long, drawn out) process of getting on disability, yet they denied me for a hardship forebarence even though I have no income at all, not a cent, and they expect me to pay almost $900 a month! They did the same "ask your family for money, ask your friends for money" bit to me, too. The people are VERY rude and uncaring. You'd think there would be a better program in use for people who are out of work since this economy is still crap. I hate to see it go to collection and ruin my credit, but I don't know what else to do.

This number called both my landline and cell phone. I wouldn't doubt but it called my daughter's. After reading it was something to do with a student loan, our only student loans are through Direct Loan and Chase. They must be selling our numbers to third parties. Guess I'll have to go postal on them.

Trust me hun, I've been there. I'm not a full payment behind because they won't work with me. For 2 YEARS I was out of work, and have been trying to pay all of my student loans. The first woman I talked to told me I should ask my family for the money. When I explained that we were all going through a difficult time, she didn't even care. She told me I should go to a pay day loan place and get the money. That's when I got angry with them. I told them "it must be nice to get a government bail out" and hung up. Even when I was only making $300 a MONTH, I didn't qualify for financial hardship. All I can tell you is to try to make the payment when you can. And I tell ALL of my friends still in school to NEVER do business with them, whether that's having a Credit card with them, having a bank account, or anything with them. I would continue to spread the word about how TERRIBLE of a bank they are. Hang in there hun, it'll get better.

We have been paying this loan off not only on time, but with extra payments for over two years now. One month the bill came late and had a double payment due, which we mailed in immediately. They keep calling very early in the morning and hanging up! Despicable is too good a word for them!

Yes, this is Chase Student Loans. I had my first payment due on Oct. 14th. I called them at the beginning of the month to see if I could receive a hardship forebearance from them since I only make ~850.00 per month. I was denied and I explained that at this time I cannot afford the 170.00 payment. They said there is nothing they could do, I need to pay it. I called a second time and talked to a supervisor and explained my situation. They said it wouldn't be reported to collections until it's past 30 to 45 days, as to say I have time to get the money together. Now that I'm 5 days late, they are calling me everyday. I talked to three representatives yesterday, and I see from my cell phone that they called me twice today!
What really angers me about this is that this is one of the bank institutions that received a government bailout on the taxpayer's dime- and they turn around and demand that I pay this debt even though they are part of what caused the economy to sink and the main reason why I cannot find a higher paying job so I can pay this debt! Merciless b*****ds! Folks, never do business with this bank. This is definitely one that should have never received a bailout!

813-584-3017 is the number calling me daily.  I have returned their call about a student loan and I have never had a student loan! I have been to very little college and paid cash as I went never borrowing money for it. My husband and I have paid off our childrens' loans. I have told them I don't know who they are trying to reach, gave them my first and last name, home phone, told them to google me they could find me and see I am not who they need. I also asked for a supervisor to return my call on my home phone to say they removed my number. No one can find my number in system to return it. And when operator I called asked me to answer phone next time to see who they want I tried and shattered my toe trying to reach the phone. Come to find out you can't answer their calls!

Received a call and v-mail from 1-888-223-8082 and the automated recording stated it was Chase Education Finance. The recording provided their hours of operation as well. The message didn't state anything about why they were calling though. I have a Chase Student Loan and just made a payment a couple days late. Then I get a call from these people...seriously they are like vultures.

It's Chase. They just called me this morning. I'm normally very good about setting up my payments to automatically come out of my account, well apparently I forgot to set up one. They never leave voicemails and I never answer phone numbers that I don't know, for my own safety. I figure that if they really need to get ahold of me, that they will leave an email. I hate Chase, they're very rude and have crap customer service.

I have been getting calls from this number (888-223-8082) for the last two days, a couple of times per day. I do have a student loan with Chase student loans.  Jesus are they persistent! My payment was due on the 11th and they start calling on the 12th? I've been paying on this loan for over 3 years and never missed a payment.

They called me five times yesterday 12/26/10 morning.  Then several times again later during day. This morning 12/27 they have already began calling me again. They make numerous repeated calls all day long.
This is a student loan belonging to my son who is 45, he does not live with me and I am not responsible. I want the phone calls stopped!! They ask for my SS# which I refused to give.

I am getting calls from this number multiple times per week, multiple times per day.  Yesterday evening I received 2 calls in less than an hour!  I asked to speak to a supervisor to tell them yet again that my son no longer lives here (hasn't for over a year)...the supervisor HUNG UP on me!  Less than 45 minutes later...they called AGAIN!
There should be a way to stop this!

They are calling my 5 to 8 times a day.  When I answer, I get a recorded message to hold on.  There are trying to contact my son for a school loan.  I've told them he is 30 years old, I'm no longer responsible for him.  I've asked them on two occasions to quit calling me, they said okay, but it continues.
