These people are ridiculous, pay them nothing.  They told me that they were working for a debt collector on a bill that they claimed was check fraud. I told them I didn't remember owing the debt and they continuously tried to tell me that I had to prove I didn't owe the debt. Which is INCORRECT, they have to prove you owe the debt.  After I told them to not call me again and to only correspond through mail, I was told he had a right to call me.  I have told them to tell their client to take me to court. Which has been followed by a hang up.  They only want to hear you say you owe the debt and are willing to send money.  DO NOT SEND THESE A***OLES YOUR MONEY.  I am going to find out if the numbers can be traced and I sue for harassment if they do not stop.

I also got a call from this Brad Williams guy claiming to be collecting on a Wachovia account. Has anyone been able to verify who these ppl are and how to stop them? Calling my job and home. But also deflecting from sending something in writing to my address (that they have already). Kept insisting on an email or fax and then accused me of just trying to buy time to keep from paying the debt....he is so lucky I was at my desk at work!!! He left me with #855-326-5714

He was actually nice but ended the call quickly.

I've received over a dozen calls from Amy Roth at Greensburg Mediation Services claiming that I owe $367 from a closed Wachovia(Wells Fargo) account.  I verified with Wells Fargo that all accounts were closed without a negative balance and I am in good standing.  I relayed this information to Amy Roth she called me a liar and told me to stop acting childish and take responsibility for my actions.  I'm not one to get worked up and stayed very calm with Amy on the phone while her attitude and aggressiveness escalated until she hung up.  I've requested they no longer contact me except for via mail, a request they have no accepted.  They continue to contact me and family members, threatening to arrest me.  I really wish someone could put a stop to these scammers.

I answered the call because it came from a 423 area code, which is an East TN area code. It was a recording telling me my bank institution (did not actually name my bank) was attempting to collect against me and I can call *didn't understand name* mediation at 888-225-2206, or I could reach the caller directly at 866-497-7840. I do not intend to call either of the numbers. I work in a law firm and I am sure this is fraudulent.

I received a phone call from 888-225-2206 and they stated they were trying to serve me with papers at an address I have not lived at in 15 years, stating is was for Fraudulent Check writing.  And that they would be contacting my Human Resources Department to notify them of what type of employee I am.

I called back, and the man who answered stated he could not help me if I did not provide a departent.  He also would not tell who I had called or what their business was - he adamantly refused to provide any information.

This type of harassment should not be allowed - the FCC ought to be able to stop this intrusion.

you might also want to change your personal email if they asked for it.  Scammers use hackers to attack your personal email to get all kinds of stuff on you

Very good also check your personal email with any information that has payday loan information in it.  The person that called you bought your  contact information from a hacker that got into your personal email. It happens quite a lot.  CHANGE your email password often that will help with the calls because if they are asking you to verify the information that means they are fishing. Inform them you will be contacting the police and then call the attorney general for your state. Do not let them scare you they cannot do anything.

Called about an old closed Wachovia balance.  Said they tried to serve me at my house but was unsuccessful (not true).  They said they would serve me on my job if they didn't hear from me.  I called Wachovia (Wells Fargo) and they said there was never an outstanding balance and the account was closed successfully.

I received a call from an Amy Roth on 2/27/13 claiming to be a representative of Greensburg Mediation Services. I was told that there was a payday loan taken out in my name in 2008 and that Timberhole Marketing Group LLC, would be pursuing me for check fraud. I asked the caller to send via postal service a validation letter (which she refused). She then offered to send an email with a Balance Due which I agreed to accept with the understanding that acceptance of this letter does not constitute validation of the claim.

The address provided in this letter is as follows:
Greensburg Mediation Services
3307 Evergreen Way Ste 707
Washougal, WA 98671
888-225-2206 phone

This address belongs to a UPS store and has been verified as such. Please do not pay these people until you can verify the debt properly.

**You can be pursued in civil court for a debt that is owed. However, check the statue of limitations in your state as it may have expired.

Hope this is helpful

The caller left a message to call this number.  Instead I called the caller ID # and they actually answered.  said they were Bank Services - that that was the name of the company.  Asked for their HQ address and he started getting very snotty and would provide no further information, called Greensburg, they gave me crap.  Calling about someone who hasn't had this # for at least 10 years

i got the same message. I tried to call  the 888-225-2206 (Greenberg Legal Services) number - it goes to voicemail and then hangs up. I also tried Mary Proctor - also goes to voicemail. I think this is bogus. I do not have any delinquent bank accounts. It is probably a fishing expedition to get personal information so they can steal your identity. Mary Proctor's number used to be the number for Highmark Health  Services in Boca Raton, Florida. They lost their license in December. Seems like the number was reissued pretty quickly!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

This person called from "Rapid Legal Services" stating that they need to serve me papers for "Greenberg Mediation Services" and left the phone number of 8882252206.  They also used an old married name that I haven't had in 4 years.  I haven't called them back yet, because I'm trying to do my research into who they are and what they want.

I was called by this company at work and at home telling me that I was going to be arrested for not paying a debt.  I know that all of my debts to payday loans have been paid.  I also contacted the local police and was told that they (police) will not arrest someone for not paying a debt.  This is bogus.  I am not going to call them back.

I received a call from them as well.  I had an ex steal my identity and take a bunch of loans and credit cards out in my name about 6 years ago.  Well after obtaining a lawyer half of them were dismissed but half of them I still got stuck paying for due to lack of proof.  All debts have been paid in full since then and I have the documentation to prove it.  Anyway, when I received the call from this number I assumed it was legit at first.  The girl was very nasty telling me officers would be at my job tomorrow.  I explained the situation and advised that I would fax over my copy of the paperwork stating everything was paid in full.  I then went to my bank to get copies of my statements as well in case they were needed and was advised by the bank manager to contact the police or lawyer since it did not seem legit.  I spoke with my friends husband who is a lawyer and he dug around a little but was unable to find any background information for this "company".  They do not seem to be registered anywhere.  I called them back and received their voicemail.  I let them know that I would be happy to fax over all the necessary paperwork once I got something in writing from them through the mail.  So far I have not heard back
