Got a phone call from my county Court house  leaven a message on my phone and saying I was being summonsed but to handle before it goes to court to call 888-277-2556  called the number and the guy was a complete a** and hung up after I told him I need prove of who he was and all that so called the number that left the message on my phone and it was the county court house I asked for the man  that left the message and the lady said there are no men in this office I told her what I just when't thru and the message I got and enough said scam SCAM BIG TIME DONT TRUST ANYONE

Report them to your State Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission and the FBI. I did so and they have never attempted to harass me, again.

Levine and Cohen got me for about a thousand dollars....they called and said they would summons me to court if I didn't pay on a bill I had....so I believed them and payed them....they were supposed to send me a paid in full email and letter once I paid off the bill.....I tried calling them for 3 days in a row and all I got was an answering machine saying that all agents were busy and to leave my name and phone number and they would call back.  They never did call back and I had to open a new checking account for fear they would still take money out of my existing checking account.

Update: Been over 3 months of repeatedly being threatened with summons...still a no show...getting tired of waiting.  Know the statute of limitations in your state and don't be fooled by these scam bags' scare tactics.

The first person said they are a scam, which led the second person to agree that they were a scam. Eventually it snowballed into 150 people stating that they are a scam, with no substantial evidence. Half of the people on this thread claim they are reporting them to certain state and federal agencies, and there is never follow up. I recently applied for a job at this company, and I was browsing the web to find out more about them. I have worked for numerous debt collection agencies in the past and all of them have had negative comments written about them on sites like these. I don't want to work for a company of scammers, but so far all I see are people complaining who have pas due bills. Until someone actually provides evidence that it is a scam, or some follow up from one of the named agencies, I shall assume it is a legitimate debt collection agency.

Why are there so many people on here claiming they have complained to all of these agencies, and there is never any follow up? The company is still in business. If they are scammers wouldn't they be shut down? I too got a call from this company, and I told them about all these complaints and that they were a scam. His response was just like my question above and he kind of has a point. If they are a scam, how long does it take to shut them down? How can there be so many complaints and they are still operating?

Update - 7 1/2 weeks since Levine Cohen threatened us with a summons on a contested charge past its statute of limitations ... still no summons.  Bark, bark -- no bite!

Family has been received calls from 855-541-2795 Levine, Cohen & Assoc. telling them that I will be served a summons....and that they will continue to call family until they hear from me!!!!  HARASSMENT!!!!!

So sick of these people scamming everyone they possibly can. They have harassed us waaay to long. We received the same calls from a FAKE "process servers office." We did our research and found the following info. They also have 3 or 4 other fake collection agencies in the same area but we have not found the info for them. rest assured when we do, you will have it. Hope it helps.

Business plan:
Use a fake "Process server" to call and scare consumers into thinking they are going to be served the next day. When you call the number they give you, you are actually calling the same office that called you. If you listen close enough you can hear them in the back ground as we did.
A collector will then try and collect on the debt, even if it is out of statue of limitations. It is against the law for them to threaten/act as if/say, they are going to/can/will take you to court if the debt is beyond statute of limitations. The statute of limitations begins on the last activity on your account.

A lady called my friend's number wanting Barb Sucher who does not live at the address. She would not give out any information about the call but would only talk to Barb. She made it out that she had court documents that she could not open. She wanted to know if Barb would be home to be process served. I gave her my home phone number and chewed her out if she was a bill collector. I called again later and a lady answered the phone, was evasive in answering my questions and had an attitude. I am reporting the number that I had to the FBI. I have never received any mail from this company.
