I think they are the same ones, but they call themselves 'Public services'. The basic conversation is 99% the same. When I tiold them I don't read magazines, they hang up.

This same thing happened to me and i felt dumb for falling for it ! When i did more research on it i found all the scam complaints so i called my bank and had a freeze placed on my account and a new card before they could take anything off... i tried calling the number back and all it does is play cheesy elevator music.... when the guy had asked for my card number i told him that i didnt have one and he said yes you do your a preferred customer of visa so either you don't have your card or you don't have funds on it.... i feel dumb for falling for but i hope talking to my bank has fixed this and i wont have any trouble....

I've been getting a call from a 0000000 number for the past week. Finally answered it today and sure enough it was this scam. Word for word the exact same speech about being entered to win $1million except they said they were from Readers Services.  Ha! I wish. I have never once entered myself and I have never been a subscriber to any magazines. As soon as I said I was declining to pay for the "additional" magazines they hung up. Hoping they don't call me again or I might just lose it on them.

I would suggest to anyone who had received this call to watch your credit card statement and your credit reports. Just to be on the safe side.

Received call from "Unkown" 000-000-0000 with the same spiel as C-nizzle wrote. This guy didn't have our corect address, I politely refused to give him a correct one. I also politely declined any magazines, and "free diamond watch". Considering we haven't had any credit cards for sevearal years, I figured out this was just a magazine marketer simular to Publisher's Clearing House, but worst. I would advice not giving out any info to this company, or you might end up paying a premium for those magazines, if they show up at all. Plus most likely won't have any recourse to stop payments, find why you're not geting magazines you pay for, and a host of other things. Save yourself the headache, be polite, and firm, and refuse. Besides many magazines offer really great deals directly.

I gave them a separate number to call me back on, the supervisor, and they were hesitant to take my number. My sister was at my moms and I guess they called again, but didn't contact me on the number I had given.

I almost wonder if I will actually receive a watch hahahahahaha! They asked me if I would like a men's or women's watch...  I was gonna sell it anyway.

I just recieved a call from these people as well.  They claimed to be from some publisher sweepstakes and I was in the running for a million dollars.  I did NOT give them my credit card number.  However, they did have my address.  Is there anything I should do?

These people are beyond irritating! I got my first call from a 800 number of some kind claiming they were from the Publisher's Sweepstakes. She went on and on about being a preferred customer and asked what Credit Card I use and I said I have no credit card, only a debit, and then she asked my birthday and I gave that to her. Then when she said I will be getting a free Quartz watch I hung up. They called again another time and I forgot what the number was and I told them straight away I do not want them calling me and to take me off their list. NOW they call me as 'UNKNOWN' and when I pick it up to tell them where to go, they hang up. Today someone answered and I told them the same thing and they said 'Are you sure it was us - then what am I calling you for then?' Scam, scam, scam!!! So annoying!!!!

I got the exact same script.  I got as far as confirming my address, phone number and card type.  Then when I told them I didn't want to pay for anything, they said thank you and hung up on me.  I called my credit card company immediately to notify them and they said I had no recent activity and that my fraud protection would block any potential charges.  I think they were just phishing for my credit card number (which they never got).  The number on the caller ID was a "1" and they called twice in 1 day.  I foolishly picked up the second time.

They did this too me too! I was soo stupid to fall into it! I received a cancel form in the mail but my mom threw it out. They haven't sent me the diamond watch yet or the magazines. I want to cancel this, I can't make these month by month payments that's rediculous! I don't know how to cancel it. I need another form to cancel it! I'm looking for the magazines and maybe there is a number I can call to cancel. They are annoying and will call you a lot!

I am getting the same exact line and whats even funnier is they keep changing the reason they are calling and go from a one accent to another I guess hoping to trip people up. But I noticed almost everyone making these comment mentions school. I am in college as well. I think they get our information when we are filing for grant money and loans. They mix their information in with legitimate organizations and it is hard to distinguish it is a scam untill they ask for your credit card after u enter ur phone number. even if you exit the sight they have your number already. If anyone is llooking for help funding your education start with your states education department websites or the department of educations site. Double check links before you click on them to make sure it does not say advertisement is small print. These are things I have learned through personal Experiance. Also any legitimate school would be able to ppoint you toward real funding oppourtunities. Good Luck all. and remember never Give your credit card number for FAFSA information or grant information. The government does not charge

I got 6 calls from this number yesterday, about every 2 hours before I turned my phone off at 8:00 pm last night.  It was crazy!

This company needs to be fined or something, especially for those folks they haven't removed from their call list after being asked!

I get phone calls from 888-229-1411, 888-756-0451 on my cell phone every half hour - 24 hours a day. When you call back you get a fax #.  I faxed a note to the #'s asking they stop calling me immediately and put the local police departments phone # if they had any questions.  This j*** off, Keith,  claiming to be from United Health called me asking why I gave him the local police department's phone number.  Keith is at 763-744-1930.  Keith tries to get you to say your name, personal information  and admit that I do business with what ever company he is masquerading as.   When you call Keith he gives the company name Voice Engineering.  i tracked the phone number and it is internet phone service provided by Qwest in Minnesota, Hennipin County that skips around the world ending at land line 763-744-1930.      What a do***e bag! I think everyone should start calling Keith so he is too busy to make out bound phone calls.

I fell for this because they offered the watch and the magazines, and I thought that I'd like to read them.  So I gave my Mastercard #, and they said my magazines would come along with my watch.  A couple days later I decided I wouldn't be able to pay for it, so I called them up and told them to take me off the list.  They said they'd already ordered the magazines and withdrawn money from my account.  I told them I didn't want it, but they said I still couldn't get out.  So I called a couple weeks later to get rid of them, spoke to the manager who offered to cut the prices in half, but still refused to cancel the subscriptions.  So I contacted each of the magazines to cancel subscriptions and some let me while some said I had to go through the IMC.  I went to my bank and got an affidavit signed to restrict them from taking out money.  Since then, I've had several debt collection agencies call me to get the $700 or w/e that I owe - 609-948-0988, 561-948-8089, 213-232-2300.  I'm going to report the whole group to the Better Business Bureau, and hopefully this whole situation won't negatively affect my credit.
Don't fall for this!

They scammed me and i told them i wanted it cancelled and told me it was impossible.  2 minutes after i threatened to call BBB they hit my account for 79$!!!  The guy on the phone said that even though they ask that you dont cancel, they never once said i couldnt.  I explained i wasnt interested in making that kind of commitment and they made me believe that they were just going to send me some info in the mail about it. ...  ive been on hold forever now

anybody actually get your money back?

I called this number back twice.  The first time it disconnected after hearing "Thank you for calling IMC, Inc."  The second time, it transferred to a live person.  I asked what the company was and she said it's a magazine subscription company.  I asked if she would remove my number from her list and she said she couldn't because I was not calling from the phone number that they called.  I asked why I couldn't give her the number to remove and she said she couldn't do it unless I called from my cell phone.  I will wait for them to call me back and let them have a piece of my mind.

They scam me by asking me to pay $4.65 PER WEEK (about $241.80 per year)for 5 magazines. At first, the lady name Jessica (anyway, I don't think she told me her real name)called and said I don't have to pay a single penny, it's 100% free for all 5 magazines plus a diamond watch....blah..blah...blah..., she asked me to give some good words when her supervisor call later to see whether she did her job right. I said ok.... About 5 minutes later.... I came out from my bathroom and realized I got 5 missed calls for within those 5 minutes while I was in the bathroom...wow "5 MISSED CALLS", do they think people are dumb enough to believe them to call 5 times just to find out whether the employee has done their job right? I don't think so! About 15 minutes later.... This guy name Saul called me and asked whole punch of question about my family's hobby, lifestyle, do I own a house or apartment, what's my job, what's my husband doing......OMG this is ridiculous...and finally he said: in order to get those 5 magazines I have to pay $4.65 weekly, then I told him I'm not interested and I asked what is his company address, he kept changing topic to avoid answering my question, I keep asking...he sounds mad and said "you know what, I will remove your number from my list", then we said goodbye, I though that was it....but not yet... For the rest of the day... I kept receiving calls (about 8 calls) from below numbers, in fact I just saw their number appeared in my cellphone at about 5 minutes ago 8:45pm, that's why I decided to file my complaint here. Anyway, when I picked up the call I heard the background music but nobody saying a word, I started realized these IMC scammer wasn't happy because I rejected their offer earlier and they're now decided to do something to me as a pay back... 1-813-671-7075 (Scammer) 1-866-926-5425 (Scammer) 1-866-926-5322 (Scammer) Good luck people, always remember there is no free lunch!

I have received 10-12 phone calls a day from IMC. I keep asking to take me off the list. they say okay. they call the next day.  repeat.  Ofcourse, there is never a supervisor on duty that you can talk to.  It sounds like the same girl to me each time.  She has a very distinctive voice.
