Very rude and even utilize improper language.  this person is not representing herself and told me she would get me fired.  I only asked what her company did so I could help her.

Deana has contacted me about an opportunity so I thought I would do some research on her and came across this site. I have to say that I have talked with Deana on the phone for over two hours so far and I had no indication that she was like anything that any of you described. I found her to be refreshingly honest about what she is doing as well as what she is looking for. I also have to say that she has even gone the extra mile for me through this process as well as being very professional. I?m disappointed in all this and a little perplexed that you would all go thruough the trouble of setting up a site like this. I usually don?t ever post to these things but I felt that it necessary to put up my experience so far. As you all know when someone has a complaint they tell twenty people, however when you do something correct it is rarely noticed. I hope that you all have had better days as it seems that you are all pretty angry people.

Also, I have never in all of my years in sales, HR and working with recruiters EVER heard that threatening to get a gatekeeper fired or calling them stupid or screaming at them is a method of protecting a potential recruit or the client one represents. In fact, it does just the opposite.

After re-reading your post I've come to the conclusion that you must either be Deana Griffin posing as someone else in order to defend herself, work for her, are friends with her or have confused her with someone else you have worked with. It's just not possible that someone who has had as positive an experience with her such as you claim would come to this particular website on some kind of whim.

What you appear to be missing are the comments about how rude and downright mean Ms. Griffin is. Lying about her circumstances to get in the door, refusing to give out information, being very aggressive,  yes that is how recruiting, and even outside sales in many cases, is done.  However, myself and several others have encountered not just the Deana Griffin that implements classic recruiting techniques, but a woman that insults us, threatens us, attempts to demean us and whose behavior is downright deplorable. Of course she did.  That's what headhunters do.  It's standard operating procedure and an accepted practice in order to get in the door, identify talent and get passed gate keepers.  Unfortunately, Headhunters are like attorneys, everyone talks bad about them and hates them until they need one. The service headhunters provide is invaluable.  Do you really think the companies that engage a headhunters services don't know how it's done.   Sales people for companies do the same thing.  Anyone soliciting without an appointment - who runs up against people who don't readily give out information, does the very same thing this and other headhunters do.   My bet, if she was calling you, if you were unhappy with your job, you would welcome the call.  If  your an employer and you can't stand going through hundreds of resumes - you would want her services.  And yes, if you're not the right fit for the job she has been charge with filling, if you don't conduct yourself properly, she won't give you the time of day.  That's the way business works.

I'm reading the other comments here and I am equally amused and astonished. With 25 years experience as a corporate officer, business owner and recruiter, I've seen and heard about everything and yet the ignorance and maybe, jealousey of the people who are making these negative comments about a professional Recruiter like Griffin is a surprise.  I have utilized Deana's services on a regular basis. She's a top professional who delivers.   All those employees, managers, or owners of companies who make comments about her attempts to recruit from them - and her methods, would have a totally different tune if they needed a job a she contacted them.  Listen up folks, the way Deana does headhunting is the way it is done.  It's standard operating procedure.  She didn't invent it.  It's been around for decades.  Her methods protect the people she is trying to recruit as well as the client companies she works for.

FYI to all...  I just have to write this (i'm laughing) I found out that The Griffin Group has ONLY...2 people working for them. Deana Griffin and an assistant..  Deana.. remember the JMU degree you have.. Company is define as "a GROUP associated for some purpose..." Meaning, the people you call on do work for a company, you're just self-employed.. baby-doll.. haha... Also, the people you call on make more money then you.. I bet $$$$ on that.... straight to vegas.

Coming on here and throwing around insults just makes you look more unprofessional. It also makes others less likely to work with you. For the "President" of your company you don't seem to care all that much about it's performance.

I looked up a number and stumbled on this - HILARIOUS!!!  Thank you, Deana, for some good laughs.  From simply looking at your website (http://www.thegriffingroup.cc), I can see that you do apparently think quite a bit of yourself.  And that is sad, because one's true value is determined by the perception others have of you.  I've talked to literally dozens of recruiters in the last nine years, and I have contact information for about four of those that I keep on hand in case of future need.  And I have never encountered anyone even close to the descriptions given here of you.  A rotten attitude can derail even the best aptitude, dear.  That little education is worthless if you handicap it with an obnoxious personality.  Maybe you could work on this a little?  Nah?  LOL  I'll be checking back in on this from time to time - it's too good not to.  It's as repulsive as a train wreck on one hand, but I can't look away!

Thank you all for posting about this very unprofessional, rude, egotistical, witch!!  She threatened to have me fired also when I hung up on her for being rude.  She actually called back and screamed like a raving lunatic that I dare hang up on her. Called me a lowly receptionist that couldn't get a job, she was going to have my job blah blah blah.  Deana... not everyone who answers the phone is a receptionist (and so what if they are). I put you on speaker phone and the training class and I had a good laugh at your expense! They have medication for personalities like yours... the more the better in your case lolol.

Ever thought about volunteer work?  I think this would be the best fit for you.

Big deal you are the President of a company.  You have several people in your "I can't stand Deanna Griffin" fan club.  It's not about being the president of a company.  It's about treating people with respect.   I can't imagine the number of people you touch and scare on a daily basis.  Your childhood must of been horrible.  Did everyone pick on you?  Is that why you try to make people feel bad about themselves?   Grow up.  Get a life...go out, try to be decent for once in your life.  Do charity work or something..really.   I'm sure the others who have encountered you, would agree me.

Deana called my company and I was the unfortunate person that answered the call.  She wanted to speak to an account manager for the Sulpher/Lake Charles region of the state of Louisiana. She said she was starting a new business in the area and wanted a salesperson to call on her.  My company only assigns outside reps to the major corporations and I informed her of that.  I told her that I could have a manager call her back and she reluctantly agreed.  I asked her to give me "2 seconds" while I switched to my Outlook and she said "let me give you a piece of advice, never keep a business person waiting".  I thought she was joking.  She wasn't.   I sent the email for the manager to call her and then I googled her phone number.  I quickly called him and we looked at THIS website together.  We laughed and joked at what a B**** this woman is.  I cannot imagine a company hiring her for headhunting and if I ever find out a company has hired her, I will NEVER do business with that company again.  Business aside, can you imagine the poor sons of b****'s that have been married to this woman.  I made that plural because there is no way this B**** could have only been married to one person.  I would kill myself if I even met her.  I hope the batteries in her vibrator go out so that she will be completely alone.  P.S.  To everyone that has had contact with this woman, I am so SORRY.  Thanks to all of you for posting on this message board.

You are in sales and I am the President of a company.  Hmmm...maybe this is why you are still in sales after 20 years!

Maybe you should look into counseling so that you can deal with the 1% of the population who are high achievers.

This Lady is a full blown CRAZY! She harassed (and I mean harassed) 3 different people in 3 different offices of my company, including myself.  Then she repeatedly lied and changed up her story with each person she talked to.  Eventually my regional sales manager got wind of it and asked for her number so she could mess with her, but when she called Deana was on another line and the receptionist (who's almost as much of a pain as Deana)wouldn't let her hold. She (the receptionist) tried badgering a name and number out of my regional but she refused and hung up on her. Maybe it seems childish of her but my regional said she remembered Deana from years ago when she kept calling our office and reps and did the same thing to the point that sales reps were getting angry and our receptionists didn't want to answer the phones and listen to her bull. This woman deserves to be fired, put out of business, whatever the case may be. Possibly the unfinished basement she calls her headquarters will be flooded?

If you get a call from this woman...save yourself some time and don't answer.   She thinks way too much of herself.   She is insulting and uneducated.    She THINKS she's an authority on subjects she knows nothing about.   I have never spoken to such an unprofessional recruiter.  I've been in professional sales forover 20 years.

I totally agree! I keep getting calls from a Deanna Griffin of The griffin Group. This lady does nothing but cause problems and appears to be very unethical in the way she conducts her business. She acts like she is going to help you in some way but in reality just wants your business cntacts. Hang up if you get a call from this group. I called them twice and asked to be put on a do not call list....I complained to the receptionist and she took note of it. I suggest you do the same.

Deana Griffin left a message on my voicemail at work and I called her back later that afternoon. She was actually not rude, just extremely fake and it was obvious what she was trying to do. After turning her services down, Deana asked me for the names of my competitors so that she could "take them out" for me. Nothing about her operation is legit and I would suggest that you simply ignore her calls and she'll move onto another sucker.
