After the death of my father, I allowed my husband to assist me with paying my bills. I just started paying the bills again myself, and found $163.43 a month on my phone bill that is unauthorized. This has been going on for 6 months. I called AT&T, and was told that they do this third party billing crap, without authorization, "because we can", as I was told by a Supervisor (Miguel, from AT&T). He told me he would credit my account for one month, but I was on my own for the other 5 months. And, he confirmed that AT&T actually makes a percentage of these bogus charges. The name on my bill is Paymentone Corp. They are a "third party billing company" for these bogus scam companies, suposedly. BUT, they are actually all the same company, all operating under Payment One Corp. The two scam companies that they were billing me for were:  E Zip Search LLC and Green Certification LLC (which has the 888) 238-5295 number). I have never heard from either of these companies, and NEVER authorized these services. EVER. I am fighting these bogus charges, and hopefully will be reimbursed for this. There MUST be some sort of law against this!

I also had the same issue with "Internet Commerce Co", billed through PaymentOne onto my Frontier (formerly Verizon) bill.  Frontier wouldn't help, and the number for PaymentOne complaints automatically redirects me to Internet Commerce Co.  They, of course, are no help at all.

I just had the same problem. They were charging an extra 37.57 on my ATT account.  I have tried to call the number ATT provided me 1888-238-5295 and I cannot reach any one.  There definitely needs to be action against this company.  ATT was very helpful about removing the charges but advised me to call the company directly and ask who authorized the charge and also to write a complaint to the FCC.

My handicapped son called me last night about a $19.95 charge on his Verizon bill. This is not the first time I have had to deal with fraudulent charges on his bills and bank accounts, and I am not afraid to use the 'mentally handicapped card' which carries some weight. I am up to the challenge. So, this is exactly how this went down for me. (I always take notes on every call I make, a long paper trail is very helpful if your case is ever handed over to a lawyer/mediator.)

I called Verizon and talked with a helpful customer representative who told me it was probably a fraudulent charge. (Anytime there is a charge on your telephone bill that is suspect, do not pay it. If it is not a legit carrier charge just back it out and attach a note as to why you are not paying the full amount. The phone company cannot stop your service because of an overdue charge that is not their own.) He had to go into their electronic billing system as the charge was under 'special services' with no other information on the paper bill. The company was Web e Commerce. I got two phone numbers from him, 888-852-6285 and 888-934-7750.

10:22   888-852-6285...immediate hang up
10:25   888-852-6285...immediate hang up
10:27   888-852-6285...immediate hang up
10:30   888-934-7750...talked with Katrina at Payment One. Offered to transfer me to Web e Commerce at 888-852-6285 and when I told her I had repeatedly called that number with hang ups she said that should not happen if she transfers me. She transferred me, there was an answer, just hello, and then a hang up.
10:34   888-934-7750...immediate hang up
10:36   888-934-7750...talked with Jennifer at Payment One. I told her what had happened with my previous call to Payment One with Katrina at 10:30. She offered to transfer me and stay on the line while I tried to resolve the problem. She transferred me, and after an automated answer by Web e Commerce we were put on hold. After 5 mins. we were cut off (hang up). At this point she said this was also upsetting to her as well and she said she would credit the account, cancel the service, and place a block on my son's phone number. She said this should show up in a billing cycle or two. I told her that the internet was accusing both Web e Commerce and Payment One of being fraudulent companies and so I would be following up if there were any other charges. I politely thanked her for her help (I always am extremely polite. It makes it so much easier to get the information I need.)

Now I will call Verizon back and add my name to their (probably extremely long) list of complaints against this company.

Every time I have to deal with a situation like this I learn at least one new thing. This time I learned to always insist that when you are 'transferred' to another line, the party transferring waits on the line with you until the call is successfully completed and they have also documented the outcome.

I just realized that my last few phone bills had a $19.95 Web Ecommerce Co Inc charge for "web hosting". After speaking with the folks at PaymentOne, I was directed to call Web Ecommerce directly. The folks at Web Ecommerce were evasive, offering first no refund. They explained that I had clearly approved the charges because they had my address and my phone number. When I pointed out that ANYONE could find my phone number and address in a phone book or simple internet search, and said that I wanted a full refund, she offered two months refund.

When I pointed out that the name attached was my yahoo id and not my real name, then went on to explain that I only use my yahoo account for websites/surveys that may be scams, she finally came around to offering a full refund. She said they will be mailing a check to my address. I'll update if/when I receive the check. In the meantime, I also have filed a complaint with the FCC via their online complaint form.

I too just found a charge of the ATT bill for "American Bus. IT Sol"  Payment one corp.  I called and added a 3rd party billing block to all of our phone lines with ATT.  I recommend you all do the same so no one ELSE can do this this to you.  When you are a small company, this is easier to spot.  When you are a large company, I image this could end up being a nightmare!

I am SO disgusted by this company. They are vultures and they can bring the morale of an office down in no time flat! They billed my company $105.95 for one month of bogus internet service which my office staff REJECTED over a dozen or so phone calls! Give me a break already! Get a real job!!!

I too was getting phone call after phone call from "Environmental Impact". They claimed to want to list my company at their site because it was a green company. (While I wish it was, I'm afraid my company is actually ANYTHING BUT a green company) and I told them i was not interested many times and did not want to be charged the $50. I even cussed them out after so many calls and maybe that was a mistake, HA! So, I too got a 49.99 Payment One charge on my AT&T bill. I called AT&T and they said the charge was in dispute and i only need pay my regular pnone bill payment but will that extra $49.99 be on my bill again next month???? I'm betting it will.

me too.  They charged $49.99 on my Qwest phone bill (it's labeled "MthyFee" so I'm sure I'll get charged again if I don't stop them), billed on behalf of "Environmental Impact", which I'm pretty sure is an alias for the "Online Green Directory", who called a few weeks ago (like an idiot I agreed to a "free" listing in their search engine, but only after REPEATED assurances that there would be no charge - yeah, right.)

Why doesn't somebody file a class action lawsuit against these creeps?

There have been charges on our phone bill from various 3rd parties.  This one was for Payment One who says they do billing for other companies.  The company that put the charges on our account was Precision Communications with a phone number of 866-315-5925 or 866-932-5001.  Precision Communications claimed that they had authorization to provide their "services".  This is not true.  They called as a telemarketer and spoke with a girl in the office and that is how they got her name to say that she authorized this.  The person at Precision Communications kept insisting that they had authorization and that they would take off prorated charges.  I said this was unacceptable and that all charges were fraudulent and needed to be removed or I would be filing a complaint with the FCC and the BBB.  After a 5 minute heated conversation, she told me that their calls were recorded.  I asked to hear the recorded call.  I was told that it would take up to 48 hours.  In the meantime, I have called AT&T and they reversed the charges and put us on a 3rd party blocking list.  Hopefully this will not happen again as I don't have tome to deal with this!!

Wow this is seriously bull.. I was also charged like 40$ in the city of Glendale. AT&T employees don't even have the power to block these companies such as "paymentone corp" from charging us for f'ing nothing. They are SERIOUSLY WORKING THE SYSTEM and the only way they can be stopped is through the law/government. That way is the only way so unless we all come together and make some stand on this matter, people will continue to get charged every month regardless of where they live.

I am pretty sure I am going to have to call every month to reimburse these payments from various scam fraud companies. I did it last month, and now this month, and most likely the month after next and into the future. FOR ALL YOU PEOPLE, GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!

Funny, I work for a small non-profit and just received a $37.05 charge from PaymentOne who is supposedly providing payment services for a company called Ameritel. The charge is for webservice, which I never authorized.  I called to complain and they said they would remove the payment....your posts helped me confirm that this was, indeed, a scam of some sorts. Thanks!

Our gym just got hit on our most recent bill for Payment One for $87.09. I tried to call AT&T and they are "experiencing higher that usual call volume and to please call back later", HA! I wonder why.  Next up are the dead beats that supposedly put this through in the first place.

I am one of victim, too.  PaymentOne pretend ATT called us if we want to have long distance service at home.  It sounds like to verify the service we currently have.  Then we were charged by ATT $19.95 each month which we have already have same service with ATT.  Our payment is direct debit from our bank account, by the time I realized, it has been 8 months.
When I call ATT, they direct me to call PaymentOne, I explain to customer service why they duplicate charge me for same service.  She says she can only refund 3 months.

After I hang up the phone with PaymentOne, I will say ATT is responsible for the scam, because we do not authorize ATT to charge any other party to our bank account nor to the phone bill.  ATT has no right to share our payment channel with any other party besides ATT.

Besides ATT authorize someone else to stealing business from them and collect money for them illegally.

I was told we should report to California Public Utility commission.

PaymentOne Corp processes third party telephone billing (a scam called "cramming") on behalf of other con artists.

Directory Services Group LLC is just one of those.  877-303-8904 or 877-888-0371.  www.directorysgll.com

Directory Services Group also calls itself BizRectory.  877-888-0371.  www.bizrectory.com

Both websites are hosted by The Planet, a web hosting company that has thus far failed to act on our reports of fraudulent activity on their systems.

PaymentOne Corp makes its living by enabling telephone bill cramming scams.  They work with many scam operations and take a cut of every scam they enable.  One group of losers they work with is "Directory Services Group LLC".  They call up businesses, ask them to confirm simple facts (business name, address, phone number) for a "free directory listing".  They then take that feedback as "authorization" for initiating a free trial website.  The so-called "website" is nothing more than a crappy template with the details they just took from you over the phone.  They then claim that because you didn't cancel the free trial, they billed your for their service.  And of course PaymentOne refused to do anything to help me and instead referred me to this other group of losers, yet they are just as responsible for these scams.

BOTTOM LINE: Check every phone bill for third party charges because these scammers are always out there and especially during bad economic times.  You are NOT required to pay for any charges you did not authorize, so NEVER agreed to pay these losers anything.  The phone company CANNOT turn off your service for refusing to pay these bogus charges.

I received a charge on my bill for 14.95, did not know what it was so I called the number under it.  After getting hung up on 3 times, I find out it was supposedly for some fraud alert company that I never signed up for.  The sad part is, how much money these companies are making off of the people who just pay their bills without reading their statements first.  You think you are safe as long as you don't give a credit card number, apparently not any more!!  The company did end up canceling it and refunding my money, but the guy was extremely unprofessional.

This is a scam. I have been on the phone for hour and half trying to reverse these charges and found out about the company and how I signed up. It wat Att. I called 3 times in this time. ATT said I should call the company. The company said that they had no record of this phone number. I called att and they stayed on the line while I used my cell phone to verify again. and Again this company had no record. This time the Att supervisor was notified that I was have a bad time with the operator. Then the supervisor was texting att operator saying it was being done but I don't what was being done. Then she came back and said he would call me back. A few mintues no phone call. I looked up this number and got this website. I call att and told them what was going on and they immediately got on the phone with this company and they suddenly reverse the charges and cancelled my account. Every other word was scam out of my mouth so I was actually heard this time. SCAM SCAM SCAM AND MORE SCAM WITH ATT
