I received a call today from someone who identified himself as David Hernandez with "Processing and Summons Division" of my county. He said I or my attorney must immediately call Providence Legal Department about three pending fraud charges against me and to call 855-732-9198 x 312 and gave me a file number that included the last four digits of my SSN. He was very nasty and said he would not answer any questions about this alleged fraud. When I asked for his phone number, he told me that wasn't part of the file. I pushed him on it and said I needed his phone number when I called the district attorney's office. He then said he would report to the "Plaintiff" (Providence) that I was committing fraud, just like they said I was and hung up on me. The number is called from showed "000000" on my cell phone. First, I don't have any past due debts, I've have no bounced checks, I've never been in legal trouble and a legitimate creditor isn't going to tell you they're charging you with fraud. Even if you were being charged, they would not be doing it - you would be contacted by law enforcement or actual court personnel. They cannot sue you without advising you of a debt (again, I don't have anything out there unless someone has committed identity theft on me) so this is completely without merit. However, all that being said, after receiving the call I was scared - even knowing I have committed no wrongdoing and this was a scam, the man was so aggressive and hateful that I can see why people would panic and pay. But don't do it - like others have advised, report them to the authorities. I called our local District Attorney's office and she confirmed it's a scam and suggested I don't call the number he gave me. I haven't.

got a call yesterday saying they going to drop off papers at my work...also called my work to tell them the same thing...number comes up private and they tell me to call them back at 8662535404
say they have a case number and when i call the number the recording says providence legal department or something like that...legit or scam???

I got a call about same from a Mathew Hicks stated he was with Providence legal and had Summons papers to file in my county in district court for contract breach and intent to defraud. What a bunch of BS do these people think everyone is stupid? Don't fall for it it's a scam to get money from you.

Someone named Bill Davis called my phone saying the same thing! Also, I get some lady named Sasha Johnson contacting me about being summoned if I dont call her.

Do not give this company ANYTHING. IT IS A SCAM. The company is called Providence Legal.  I received a similar call about a process server with some documents. After blocking my phone number, I called them. That's how I found out what company it is . There is a lot of information on this website alone about providence legal being a scam.

Received a call today, 1/11/12 about a summons, and that i would be arrested today, if i did not call back and make arrangements to pay.

Very rude, Mathew something or other...i did call back and talk to a Sasha Johnson, who explained somewhat of the process. They were asking for a credit card number to secure payment of costs...? who are these people..i am calling the state attorney general to ask about this outfit..

has anyone got a called from this number, hey called my job harrasing me telling me that i have a summons and that they are coming to served me with court orders for me to appear in court tomorrow she left me a file number 135-698B she sayd her name was jamie loan very rude and very disrespectfull voice mail.  please let me know if anyone has heard about this number they didnt left a company name. they only left avoice maail and the number they call is unknown. please help
