Received three calls from 888-239-3672 today at work number.
When I pick up and state my name and state "how may I help you?" They hang up.
Annoying.

They call and hang up. It is probably Bank of American because I once had an account there but switched to a better bank because of illegal harassment by them when I was late in a single payment, after having been a customer for 15 years with them.
Everyone, please report such illegal harassment calls to the FTC or Do-Not-Call Registry (by phone or on line). If you are an innocent victim as I am, please try to contact a goivernment reprsentative about this. Of course you know not to give any personal bank information to crooks.
When I called that number, it seemed real, from "FIA Cardmember Services." But it still is likely to be an identity theft scam. I hung up rather than give persnal bank information to crooks.
The original call was illegal.

They've started calling every day for one of my employees, who doesn't work in the office. I ask for a number so I can give him the message, but they won't give me one, just keep calling me everyday. I will now start
hanging up on them.

LOOKING FOR-SOME ONE THAT DOES NOT LIVE AT THIS ADDRESS....
annoyed 2012-11-14 00:59:04 Unknown
So I picked up the call.
All I get is an automated message saying, "Thank you for waiting. Your call will be answered momentarily." BS.. I waited for it to say it like 4 times and just hung up.
I don't need BS calls like this to my place of business. If they call again, I will report them.

Can't be a collection call. I'm not behind or overdue on the one credit card I use. Payment is due on the 17th of the month and I've already entered it in their system. I've been doing this for years with this BoA credit card and have never had any issue.

All you need to do is accept the call one time. Listen to what they have to say and then ask them once and only once to I would like your company to stop calling me and stop sending any collection notices to me unless it is for a notice to appear in court. And then when they come back at you with questions. just ask them if they understood what you requested from them and then hang up.
This works until they send you to collections or the collection company changes. then just repeat the process. If you continue to receive calls and letters sending them a certified letter requesting exact same thing as above only this time ask them to provide you with proof a debt.

Sept 25, 2012 @ 8 p.m. PDT
Caller asked for business owner giving first and last name. There is no business, this is a residence, I acknowledged being that person and asked called to ID themselves. Person spoke with a heavy accent but what I understood was they had some business to do with Jane Doe and would I confirm my address. Once again I asked for ID of caller. Person then said she was calling for Bk of Amer about my mastercard account. I asked what about it? Caller gave me some gloom and doom response (something bad will happen if you don't speak with me). I explained it was bedtime and I do not do business after dark to please phone in daytime hours. Finally she did the gloom and doom line again and I told her she can phone in the day time hours with a proper ID and return calling number and I could address her problem then. I finally said good night and hung up as persons was telling me they can phone me 24/7. Checked my caller ID and find this number along with another in the 213 area code has been calling for a week. These are calls where when I answer a recorded male voice says "thank you for holding" and after a few seconds the same recorded voice calls again with same comment. I am represented by an attorney now so will be calling BofA myself in the morning and providing them info on counsel AGAIN. Did that a week ago by email. Do not know why some are calling this number an identity theft number and really don't care to learn what that is about. Good night. Jane D

I called BOA myself and asked them to pull up their notes from the call, then reported the jack*** to his supervisor. He was very rude and started asking for personsl info over the phone prior to identifying himself. My account has been UTD

Same keep getting calls in evening and day and no one on it... annoying !!
HarryWho 2012-05-24 01:31:26 Unknown
I don't answer phone calls with out a name. This number has been calling me repeatedly. If it is BoA, I have never done business with them.
Now they are calling and letting the phone ring one time.
VERY irritating.

This is FIA card services; if they call your number, then your current telephone number is on a record of someone that is past due. If you have made an online payment on the day that your payment is due FIA will still call for up to 4 days after you have made the payment because of the time it takes for their computer system to become current. My due date was 5/7 I made an online payment on 5/7 on Bank of America's website and was called today. I immediately called the number right back and gave them the confirmation number I was given when I made my payment and the lady was very nice.

Encore recievable management in Olathe KS hired by bofa
blow joe 2012-03-23 03:58:53 Unknown
For real. Just call the number back, it is obviously a business. If you state it is not your number and politely ask for it to be removed the number will most likely be removed.... If it is Your number, THer are calling about something important!!!

I keep getting calls from this number. They do not leave a message. They have called twice today and it is Sunday it seems very suspicious and I just want them to stop calling.
patt 2012-02-11 19:51:58 Unknown
Received calls twice from this number. They asked me to verify my addresse, my mother's maiden name, and date of birth. They said something about my B of A card of which I am current in payment. I sure did not confirm any of the information they requested. I told them the bank had told be that they will never require me to give my private information over the phone. He called his supervisor. Well I told him same thing and hung up. Please beware.

I keep getting calls from this number. When I answer they hang up. Who the heck is this. They call several times a day. I don't owe anyone money. How do I get them to stop!!
bob 2011-11-25 13:22:26 Unknown
Its an identity thief attempt not bank of america. The first thing they want is personal information.
W L Johnson 2011-11-02 18:36:11 Unknown
You need to go to either your own state's attorney general website or bar association site. It is pretty clear you have a legal action available not only to permanently stop these calls, but to sue the company for violating federal laws on acceptable debt collector action. The first thing you need to do is secure a record of the calls to you, when and where. If you use a cell phone, it may be as simple as downloading your bill's call records within the 12 months, beyond which at least our cell company abandons the information. Block all private calls because that may be the tactic next.
The agency is simply barred by law from calling just anytime and most certainly from calling a thousand times. If the debt they are calling about is older than thee years since the last payment, they have even lost the opportunity to sue for collection. The statute of limitations on collection in my state is three years and that may also be a federal standard. If they don't sue you in that time, they can never do so without dismissal as long as you can prove that.
You could of course simply change you phone number to an unlisted number or even better get a new cell phone number and send it only to family and friends. You can also screen all of your calls with an answering machine or other service. But, if you have the patience to complete the process you can certainly sue in Court over harassment and make a few hundred dollars by proving they are violating the law governing collection agencies.
Often times collection agencies have no way to collect from you or your family anyway except by annoying you. That is especially true if your combined unsecured debt payments much exceed 25% of your monthly non-exempt income.

Get these calls from 6Am to 9:30PM. Don't own a credit card. Don't know the person they are calling for. Just got this number. They won't stop calling. I tell them I do not have a credit card at all nor do I know the person they are calling. Leave me alone.

I thought calling on Sunday was a big no no. I guess they don't think so. Oh well I guess it's not Sunday in India!
