Right. Let me go ahead and pay you all the wads of extra money ($0) from the dream job (unemployment) I was promised in college (who coerced and forced the loans) that never materialized that I don't have. Fix the countries' economy, make decent paying jobs available for the educated, and stop trying to collect origination fess that are 400% the value of the loan, and stop threatening (illegally) and harassing (same) and literally screaming (f****ng retarded); then we can talk about repayment. Until then, kiss my a**.

Statue of limitations varies from state to state. Interest can not be charged to an account once it has been considered closed and if a person agrees to payment arrangement your company by law has to take it out of collections. Not to mention when a person challenges the validity of one of your claims, your company-BY LAW- must supply the defendent with proof of the debt owed.

To the readers out there, you can sue for harrassment by Windam Professionals and sue to have false charges made to your credit history. This company can not garnish wages. Also wage garnishment for a student loan is only $50 a month not a percentage of your profits.

Received a call this evening from 888-241-8262, Wyndham Professionals to verify information I previously provided regarding a past due educational loan.  The gentleman I spoke with was very professional and kind, not at all snarky.  He confirmed that I've made my past six payments on time and that in three more payments my loan would be rehabilitated and that my credit score would be improved.  Wyndham has been quite helpful getting my loans current and I'd advise anyone with delinquent student loans to talk to them...They will work out a payment plan that is realistic with your income and expenses.  You can't vacate student loan debt so you might as well work with companies like Wyndham to get yourself caught up...The longer you wait the worse it gets.

"but they can't take back an education (an incredible privilege to begin with)"
Really, how does it feel to be a sociopathic leech on society? Education is not a privilege.

Also by "Take care of it" you mean pay whatever I am told, even if that means I can't get a home to live in, or food. Or constantly live under threat by you people. By "Take care of it" you mean that the exorbitant fees that are automatically charged by Sallie Mae to bloat the principal perpetually making the loan permanent for life at the same monthly payment of more than half of most income.

Yeah, you have no idea what the hell you really represent there. You are just like the rest of those other ignorant scumbags who honestly think their crap don't stink, but in fact, overlook the business model that these loans are built around and that is there is absolutely no intention of negotiation or incentive to ever have anyone pay. Keep them form doing so long enough, that when they do, they are in debt for life even if they pay it on time. Then a day late, call 30 times to their place of work in the hopes of getting them fired so more debt can be accrued.

You are a very sick person. Those who are in default of these loans are not the cause of our financial problems in this country. It is those of you who are in this industry that skirt the law, are abusive, and make impossible situations so that students stay in debt for life.

Really, you are lucky the plan works and you keep people so poor they can't even afford to do anything but kill themselves let alone acquire devices to make your job quite dangerous. With what you do, and who and what you represent, I am amazed that someone hasn't already done something.

Because you primarily target and attack people with morals and actual ethics, that may be why the plan works and why it isn't a dangerous job for you to be in. Most of us wont do something like that, but we certainly can get caught in an ethical bomb in our head and want to kill ourselves so we aren't a burden on others. That is the reality of your job and what it does to people. But all part of the plan. When dead, collect from tax payers. There is no "privilege" for education from the kindness of Sallie Mae involved.

Allen, it sounds like these are Federal loans through Sallie Mae and not Private loans. Private loans don't put liens on houses. Federal will. I have 1 year before I can dispute mine so that I can buy a home. I am going to do this knowing full well that 6 to 9 months later Sallie Mae will renew the charge on my credit report because they can. But they cannot put a lien on a home since my loans are private, not Federal.

But hey, you got a house. I am nearly homeless as a result of Sallie Mae. So good for you! Let it appreciate, the market is coming around. It has in the two years you have posted (albeit slowly) but you bought just after the bubble burst and started recovery so you should be locked in to a fairly good interest rate and paying off the home. Once you sell it, sure it will have to be 10-15 years before you aren't upside down with the lien, but come that time, you will be free and clear, plus probably still have a down-payment ready for another house.

I received a call from this number and they left no message. I called back and all I got was an answering machine. They left no name or reason for the call and they are probably a collection agency. I owe no money, and I am a retired cop. Once these rectal orifices get your number they call constantly. I had collection agencies calling me for over 2 1/2 years, looking for my ex wife of 15 years ago, dead relatives, people with the same surname, people who had this number, 2o  years ago. So I got an attorney and sued 29 collection agencies and we won every case in federal court, I am now $ 25,000 richer from this harassment and my attorney made a fortune in legal fees. I love when they call, I can use another $1000 settlement.

I think I may be the only one that has ha a positive experience with Wyndham who is processing loans for NYSHSE system.  I initiated contact with them when Sallie Mae sold my loan to them.  My loan payments at were on time.  The only reason I noticed that something happened was my normal payment didn't come out of my account.

Sallie Mae didn't have any information for me so I had to call NYSHSE and found out the loan had been sold.  Now I get a call that I request every month in addition to my statement as verification that my payment was received and processed.  So far it's been good accept they didn't leave a message and called from this 888 number today.

If you have a concern about any collection agency that you feel is wrongfully contacting you contact the BBB for third party assistance in resolution and demand a copy of the original certificate of debt. By law it must e provided within 30 days.

If they fail to provide it you can dispute the debt with the major credit bureaus and the are not able to go after you for the debt.  Keep in mind if you challenger a debt and it is in your name and social and they produce a certificate of debt you have bigger problems, like identity theft.

Good luck.

Obey the laws that regulate your business and you won't have to worry about paying out settlements when informed consumers sue you into the ground.

See how that works both ways?

You're an idiot.. I looked into this and it is a complete scam! I don't owe anyone money and found out they are using old online payday loans which were DENIED! That's how you got all my information.. Yes you can call asking us to pay a REAL debt on our home and work phones.. However, you are NOT allowed by law to threaten us with prosecutions, jail, etc.. Under federal law that is illegal.  So acting like you know what you are doing and yes everyone THIS IS A SCAM!

As for me, I've paid my student loans over and again by5 times and these ppl are still harassing me. Yes, I got behind in the beginning, but instead of actually working with me as they said they were by lowering my monthly bill, they sold it to several different places while I was still paying with out telling me, so after paying one off another would pop up and start attempting to get more money from me stating that there were absolutely no records I had ever paid a dime on it period, when I provide info they just used it to help themselves to my work place for harassment. Now I'm on disability and no one knows who actually owns the rights to the actual account, but every month my check comes in it's 15 percent less than what it should be and they still call bugging as if they aren't stealing enough from me, oh and btw my balance is still not getting smaller, even though they have been paid and are still being paid. Seems like a tier scam to me.

You are incorrect on ALL your assesment.
1.  Student Loans from PRIVATE lenders can be included in bankrupcy proceedings if you show that you tried to settle and get in to an agreement with the entity.
2.  Student loans from STATE/GOVERMENT CAN'T be included in bankrrupcy proceedings.
3.  Collection companies buy the debt at a minimum amount and they can charge you as much as they want.  For example a debt that someone owed in the amount of $30,000 is bought for $5,000 and then the collection company bills you $80,000 for "unpaid interest" during the term of your default.
4.  Contact an attorney for bankrupcy proceedings and when the collection company calls you inform them you are filing to never contact you again, and the HAVE TO OBEY this request.  They may ask you for the court's information, you can provide it if you wish.
5.  Collectors are extremely rude and they will call your family members, past employers, pull your credit report (all your history) if they have the information.  SO BE AWARE.
6.  It is true they can garnish your wages without court's approval if YOUR STATE allows this practice.
7.  If you have a small amount to payoff offer that to the collector to settle your debt.
I hope these things help.
And good luck the majority of people that are late, are actually responsible people who in some way or other are struggling to go by.  Please if you know people going to school, share your stories so they do not suffer what you have been through.

Couldn't agree more Jeff. The contract definitely didn't state that these low-life people would harass me continuously while at my job which is a violation of the law after they've been told they can not contact me at work. If they had better manners and were actually semi-human they might get a little further.

Not everyone isa deadbeat in these cases. Student Loans in many cases are sold in pieces. $5000 of mine was sold to 3 different companies and nobody told me until it went into default. I was still paying my original lender. I never missed a payment with the original company, and yet now I am still in default on this money until it is paid off. I did nothing wrong, and yet there is nothing that can be done about it, because lawmakers won't get involved with people in these situations.

If these stupid losers call me again at work they won't have to worry about collecting money from me because I won't have a job for them to collect a penny!! I've told them twice now that they CAN NOT call me at work. Them continuing to do so is now in violation of the law. I gave them an alternate contact number which is in service and working just fine. Yes Mr. Brooks I got your damn message, but thanks I'm at work where my job is NOT to harass people. You left a message, I will return the call and tell you to f*** off personally when I am available. You have the patience of a dead animal you loser, get a real job.
