Sounds like your daughter passes worthless checks and likes to steal from people. Real nice that you would help her do that. You raised a real upstanding member of society.

DO NOT repond to this idiot (Craig Hawkins) - it is a SCAM!!!!!  First, although statutes differ from state to state, for checks under $1,500 in Texas, it only constitutes a misdemeanor and  has a statute of limitation of two years from the date of the commission of the offense.  Apparently, every person who works in this "call center" is named Craig Hawkins.  This A-hole called my daughter, her brother-in-law, and accidentally (BIG MISTAKE for him!) called my phone, because when I first moved out of my house and my daughter moved in, she used my number for a while and he thought it was still hers - I think he's getting info off of Facebook, because that is the only place I know of where she ever put that number.  He keeps telling her the check is from 2005 and is on an account from Chase; however, her account at that time was with WAMU, and Chase didn't purchase WAMU until SEVERAL years after 2005!  They also refused to send a copy of the check, and are abusive, screaming IDIOTS!  This is a TOTAL scam and any money you send them will be money down the drain.  When I told him that he had BETTER not call my phone again, since I have told him she doesn't live here, and he said he would call when he wants -  that's when I told him that if he does, I will make it my LIFE'S MISSION to find SOME law he is breaking and have HIM prosecuted!

Chris Hawkins ... said I was black because of my voice .. mindful im NOT black ... he called me a welfare recipient ... tried to make a payment he kept saying card was declined which was impossible considering  I had just made a deposit ... VERY RUDE

It is a scam!!! He called me and said he was from Franklin Newhoff and some one has open an account with my daughters ss# and wrote bad checks. He wouldn't tell me the ss# so i told him to charger her cause she is 8. They wanted me to give the ss# to them to verify. Don't give them your personnel info cause it is a scam!!!

Bad checks aren't for bankruptcy because they are considered a crime.Hope this helps.

He has called me several times and claims he is a paralegal that is trying to collect on a bad check that was written to KFC (for $22!), back in 2006! I explained to him that I lost my husband a yr ago and filed bankruptcy, but he said that there's no way this would've gone into the bankruptcy because it has nothing to do with credit issued.
I went on to explain that it would've been followed up with a collection letter which THEN would've made it go into a category of collections- which WOULD HAVE gone into the bankruptcy.
Does anyone have any advice on this?? I've contacted my lawyer and am waiting on a response from him.
