If it's Officer Murphy, they must be watching a lot of Robocop. Tomorrow they might show up as Judge Judy.

THIS IS AN EXTORTION SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and may be using bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort money or personal info for fictitious crimes.

This is why people should never ever pay attention to their lies or threats. Naturally when people are faced with a threat they'll react without focus and believe that the scammer is right. The best thing to do is ignore them, block them and report them.

UNLESS????? Thats how these people work. You owe it because they say you do. They have no evidence to back it up thats why they resort to intimidation.

Did you get a letter of verification? Without verification, whats the point of getting hit with a summons UNLESS you are b***s***ting?

work for them Jillian?? IF they are legitimate then they should follow protocol set up by the FTC. They clearly do not. When you dont know what youre talking about silence is generally the better option

These people are not a scam, I hung up on the man who had called me several times, I was served with a summons about a week later, and brought down to court later that day. I wish that I would have taken advantage of just paying the stupid thing off, now I'm in a world of hurt..

Goy the same kind of call. I told them I was entitled by law to all original documents of the "debt". They got very short and rude telling me they were sending sheriif to arrest me. When I told them it was illegal for them to threaten to have someone arrested they hung up. The next day they started calling family member and my workplace. Any legitimate law enforcement would give you a badge number or office loaction not a 1 886 number. I have also filed a complaint

Call from a man who said he was a lead investigator from the State Department of Fraud and he was going to put a summons through to have me appear immediately in court! He called me at work - well several times and was very mean and tried to scare me. I know they are a scam because I don't even have a loan with the place he said. I filed a complaint against him and this number.
