Why do they call when I don't even have an account at Wells Fargo?

I wish they would leave message in English.

Call on my cell phone was from Wells Fargo Equity Assist.  She said that although we are paid current on our equity line (which was frozen in 2008), she was calling to be proactive to determine if we were anticipating having any trouble paying and to offer loan modifications options. I asked if these actions would affect the credit rating and she said "no". I was not at a place to discuss more details, so she gave me an extension to call back.

Called us just now on a Sunday night. We do not answer when the name is not provided.

Call was from Wells Fargo Equity Assist.  She said that although we are paid current, she was calling to be proactive to determine if we were anticipating having any trouble paying to look at options such as delaying payments, lowering interest rate, etc.  I asked if these actions would affect the credit rating and she said "no" as Wells repots a code od S for special.  I do not think she would know if this affects credit rating or not.  She said if interested to call 888-248-1405.

This number keeps calling me about once a day.  I do have a home loan with Wells Fargo, but nobody has ever picked up on the other end.  Good thing we have the internet to find out these types of things.

Answered phone and sat on hold while the recording stated that they were trying to connect me to a bank representative for over 2 minutes.  I did not wait for them to connect me.  Never said what bank I was holding for.

We got a call from this number as well.  Called it back and it was Wells Fargo Home Equity.They were very helpfull .

spoke with them as they called my unlisted private cell phone....... And asked them how they had my number. They did not ask for my SSN but there were very pushy in the amount of info they did ask for.

calls me three times on tuesday, i answered on wednesday only to hear faint music (as if someone was holding a phone to the radio)it was the only call that day, then it called me three times AGAIN today

they are Wells Fargo Home Equity.

I called them back, they verified some things (no they didnt ask for my full SSN).  My account was in good standing, they just wanted to make sure I was doing OK in today's tough economy.  I think banks are trying to be more proactive in finding customers who are having problems paying, instead of waiting for foreclosures.

ID as "Out of Area"  We don't answer incoming unidentified phone numbers.  Checked this one out by typing it into Google and up came the message, "Access Denied."  
Good one to avoid answering.
