I got a call from this number and they tried to sell me some drugs.

Upon returning the call to this number, it is Cox Collections. However, since this number is new to me, they said the call was most likely meant for a previous owner of this number. They made the correction and said I shouldn't be bothered again.

I got a call from this number and they were selling sex.

They are calling to collect past due amount.  I received a call from them.  They sent my bill to the wrong address.  An address I had never had service at and had never given them.  Yet, they wanted to collect a past due amount.  What was interesting is I had gone to the office to inquire about why I wasn't receiving a bill and paid the past due amount.  They even waived the late fees since they saw that it was their err.  Yet somehow it remained as a past due payment and made my entire bill look past due.  Crazy.  It was easy to fix.  They are actually pretty reasonable.

I received a call from this number at 10am this morning, but being my day off, I slept through it. Upon listening to my voicemail, I heard two minutes of piano-playing. I was very confused for a while. Now that I'm reading all of this about Cox, perhaps they had me on hold or something.

I guess I should go see if I owe them anything today.

Cox communications billing number.  I was late on my last month and they called from this number to settle the difference.

If this number is for Cox Communications, why are they showing just "TOLL FREE CALL" on the callerid?   Usually they will have their name with their number showing up.    

I'm to the point if the callerid shows "TOLL FREE CALL" I just turn on the radio and let them listen to commercials (assuming that there's a real person on the other end some where).

It is Cox Comm. They call my cell all the time. I do not nor have I ever had Cox services. Evidently someone used my # or Cox has it entered into their system incorrectly. They said they would change it but they are still calling me.

Yes, It's cox communications.  I did have a bill with them but paid it off during tax time.  And today they called again.  And I too said Hello 2-4 times. I even stopped to see if I could hear anything in the background.  Nothing.  Last week I even had a cox guy come to the door and ask if I had services I was like yes I even paid the bill. He was ther to disconnect my services.  I called cox back and they were like yes were behind on disconnects.  I was like that was in December and it's now late April.  Her comment was people are struggling to pay there bills.

I had this call coming in and telling me it is MCI World Com and stating that I owed a bill of over a hundred dollars, do I accept the call and the bill.

I told them I owe no such call from MCI. The call has come in twice today and the second time they hung up. It was a woman.

My phone rang at 3:10 a.m. I did not answer it. After finding this site I decided to call the number back. It is indeed Cox Communications. I was asked my name and then if that was the name on my account. I told the CSR that I do not have an account not thinking my mother resides with me and does have a Cox account. However the phone here is not in her name. I told the CSR, "I do not have an account, I just want to know why I received a call at 3:00 a.m. this morning from this number. At this point she said she apologized. There was a glitch in their system that called 5700 customers and she would remove my number from records.

They called at 11:12pm, I didnt answer. I called back and it rang once then stopped, but it never hung up?

I answer, say hello 2-4 times, no talk...called back hear baby crying back ground, tell them I received a prank call from this number and wondered who the heck it was.  They tell me to stop cursing.  They then argue with me about heck being a curse word and I don't need to use that kind of language.  They never tell me who they or their company is.
