I call chase direct using the # on the back of the card and they told me that they have not sent received or sent out any message to me that they don't see any suspicious activity. This # is a fake so be warned

It really is Chase Bank checking on one of my credit cards that was compromised.

Here it is December 2013 and this scam is still in effect. I fail to understand how these creeps can continue year after year and not get shut down.

This is NOT Fraud. This is Chase Bank. My wife had requested a new CC as the one she had was expired and Chase Bank never bothered to replace it - they called and left an automated message for me after my wife requested a replacement. So this is completely LIGIT.

Got a recorded message asking for me. I wasn't home and got the number to call back. Called them back and gave them a debit number by mistake. They asked for the whole number and I stupidly gave it to them. Theysaid that the card was not a credit card number (then they said they would transfer me). They also asked for the last four of my ssn. That is when I thought it was a hoax as well. Hung up and called Chase. They have NO RECORD of calling me but are issuing new credit and debit cards.

called and reported the number to chase fraud prevention. Let's see if they do anything.

That is inaccurate, those calls can be fruad related it is best to just call Chase to confirm at the number on the back of your card.

FRAUD!

I called the number on the back of my credit card and talked to a representative. She said that not only was there no request on my account for a new card but she then checked with her supervisor and the number (1-888-254-0911) is not one of their numbers.

I received a call at approx 7pm this evening telling me to call the fraud dept of Chase bank at the above number.  I was immediately suspicious since the last four numers of the acct they gave are not any of my accts.  The message certainly sounded official enough and I am sure would cause many folks to call right back or to go ahead with the call the machine made.

an automated voice stating it was calling from Chase Bank and someone has asked for a replacement
credit card.  If I did not authorize this, I was to call back the number.  I did not call this number but instead called the customer service number on the back of my card.  Chase had not called me and no one had asked for a  replacement card on my account.

This is not a fraud, it is not directly Chase but they are Chase-affliliated.  I had the same message and called the number and then called the Chase line directly to confirm.  Chase confirmed that it was legit.  As a tip, you do not ever have to give your full credit card number; if they are legit, they only need the last four digits.  If they can't pull up your account with the last four digits, then you should be concerned.

This is an absolute scam!!!! I called Chase after I gave the number 1888-254-0911 all of my info. by accident!!! It then clicked in my head that this could be a fraud. I called the Chase number on the back of my card and asked for the fraud division immediately. They had to completely shut down my account and open another.

This is NOT scam. I recieved a call. Called my bank card INSTEAD on the back of the card and they verified it was a legitimate call. The stupid thing is my card is expiring next month so I was going to get a new card. So... they sent that call automatically. I told them how terrible of a policy that was to scare people. But I suggest you do the same. Call the phone # on the back of your card and ask to be routed to the fraud section.

This number did not even say "Chase" or any other company name,  just left a message that I had requested a replacement credit card and to call back if this was not true.  It sure sounds like a scam to me - no way am I going to call back with such little information!!

Don't believe anyone on this site saying this is true. This is absolutely 100% a fraud phone call. I called my actual Chase credit card customer services and they have had NO contact with me about any cards. Please people do not believe this, listen to the voicemail it wont even say "Chase" it just says "Fraud Services" why wouldn't it indicate that it was Chase if it was a fraud? Please please please do not fall victim, as the economy worsens identity theft increases, take everything with a grain of salt and check and double check before giving your information out to ANYONE.

THIS IS 100% FRAUD!

DO NOT CALL 888-254-0911 !!!!!!!!!

Hey, Park, I had not requested a replacement card for the account they wanted information about, online or otherwise.  Bottom line:  people must never give information to anyone calling them.  There is a number on the back of your credit card which you can call to verify whether you received a legitimate call.  Chase denied that 888 254 0911 is used by them.   And why would they want my full credit card # ending in XXXX when they card is not a Chase card?

Well, here it is 3 years later, and this number is still in operation defrauding people.  I just got off the phone with Chase and learned they had not placed a call to me.  The interesting thing is:  they had the last four digits of one of my credit cards, which was not issued by Chase but by Citibank.   I called both credit card companies, talkjed with their security departments and urged them to track this fraudulent outfit down.

When I first called Citi and gave them the phone number the call came from, the customer service representative actually called the number, told me it was Chase bank and connected me to them.  I told them I was not convinced they were legitimate, and then I called Chase and confirmed they had not contacted me, then I called Citi again and told them thier customer service person had just aided and abetted the perps by connecting me with them and telling me they had confirmed it was a legit call from Chase.

Absolutely a fraud. This number is not associated with Chase in any way. When you call the number it prompts you to enter your credit card information. Then the rep gets on the phone with you to verify your info. I gave them all fake information and and called Chase to complain. Please do not give these people your information.
