These people are illegal fraudulent scammers.  Ask them to SEND VIA USPS MAIL PROOF OF OWING THIS DEBT. This is federal law, they will refuse because they have NOTHING TO SEND. They are just another illegal low life scam.

So I get a call from someone named Mike Roberts from 281-853-9084 and was told the call back number was 888 255 2901. I was told that there was an outstanding load from a payday loan business in my mother's name and it needed to be paid before a judgement was sought. I stupidly gave them my home number before realizing that this could be a scam. When I call back the number, it goes directly to Mike Roberts, I asked for something in writing showing where and when this supposed loan took place, he said he couldn't do that and that a judgement would be sent out instead. Well I guess he didn't get what he was expecting. And we're not paying any craziness either.

Received a call from 602-325-8236, saying that my credit/debit card on file had declined, so they need a call back to 888-255-2901, so that I don't incur any overdraft fees on my checking account.  The "robo message" spelled out Ace Cash Express as my account, & gave a reference # as well.  As stated in previous comments, payday loans are illegal to grant in this state, & have been since 2010.  The area code of the call is Phoenix, but that doesn't mean anything - they mask their # to anything these days.  Not giving them any info!

say they are pressing charges because of my failure to pay a payday loan from oct 2009 for 905.00 but if I give them 100.00 today all charges will be dropped and debt will be paid off.  I never had a payday loan this is second time this year this same scam has been tried on me.

They have been calling me too! They said i got a payday loan in like 2006 and krpt asking me for my info. i told the lady i wasnt telling her s*** because i didnt know who she was. she verifed my address and said i had an account at a bank that i've never had an account at! They actually reached me once and said they were going to send the police to my house and have me arrested. I told the lady to go right ahead and guess what? No Police at my door yet and now I have the recording calling me! Idiots! And I googled the name of the company and tere is no such company and all of the numbers and the 888 number is unfound and the 773 number they called me from is a VOIP number whatever that is! Try again losers!

Same thing happened to me as happened to down with scams above. It was a ROBO call and I could hardly understand the message. They said the SAME THING about overdraft charges on my checking account. This has SCAM all over it.. Do not give them anything. I don't even return these kinds of calls.

Typical ILLEGAL scam. Their "voicemail" acts as if they are calling you because your debit card or credit card payment did not get authorized and to "prevent" overdraft charges, call them back. OBVIOUS scam to start, so I called to have a bit of fun.  After they "verified" who I was (I gave them my phone number and MADE UP a SS#!) they told me I had a payday loan that I defaulted on.  I asked them about their ILLEGAL voice mail which was obviously false and they refused to answer that question. I told them it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to have an outstanding payday loan because (1)Payday loans are ILLEGAL to GIVE in my State (2) collection agencies attempting to collect on ANYTHING MUST be LICENSED in the State I live in.  I said whatever you "claim" to have, send it in the mail.  They refused because they are a SCAM.  I asked for their address they refused to give that too.  OBVIOUS scam.  People beware of these scammers!
