Hey all!

Just a quick update.  I guess (Legal 1/ Legal One, or whatever name they're calling themselves these days) added yet another shady tactic to their borderline illegal harassment.  I find this extremely scary that they are sometimes impersonating law enforcement officials, and stating that they will come and get you if you didn't pay the full amount (some large amount of money, today, or go to jail.  Most daring, is them saying that they will go to your work looking for you if didn't pay them in full immmediately,  in which I could've read It wrong but I'm 99%sure.

They have been calling from blocked numbers now.  That is amazing!  Why, you ask?  Because at my house we ignore all blocked calls, and we even do it on our cell phones.  Go ahead "Mr. Agent Debt Collector"  give me a ring.  You hear that?  Hmmm,  me either!  Because we blocked your blocked call!  Mr. Shady Deputy Agent Doofus.  On that note please stop calling yourself an Agent.  You make yourself sound like an idiot.  You totally undermine the true professional law enforcement government agents out there.  

Here is a tid bit of my message with the typical bs and the many different scare tactics they use.  What's scary is the bullying they use scares enough people that they actually get their money and pretty good money too.  Soo much for the anti-bullying campaign going on.  I guess it's just focusd on the kids.    Rant over here's some of the nonsense:
 "now sir failure to comply in a timely manner, it will result in an immediate processing of your paperwork and resubmission, resulting in myself accompanied by a uniformed official heading out to all addresses on file including your place of employment to assure that you are served.   Good luck with your case sir we will be seeing you soon".  

Hahahaha dear lord help us all.  

I actually talked to them once and am more mad that I can't get those 5 minutes of my life that I wasted back.  

These are the most uneducated, unprofessional people that I have ever spoken to.  By far the worst people skills of anyone I have ever spoken with over the phone, that claims to be as structured and serious as they claim.  

Not gonna lie, at first, it really scared me and I cryed like a little girl because it sounded so serious and intense at first.  Also I've never been in trouble so I didn't know what it would sound like if something or someone official called me for something I did wrong.

Well they found the right guy or maybe not.  Because this has gotten fun.

I got the same call. They called me block number. I usually don't answer how I knew it was an scam she called me by an name I haven't gone by in 18 years and said it was from 2011.

Got a call from a guy who identified himself as Kevin Micheals talking about some papers he has on his desk with my name and social. He proceeded to say that papers will be served at my residence and or place of employment on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Furthermore he said I needed to call (888) 257-3308 with some case number he gave to get this resolved. This is a scam. NO ONE CALLS before time to serve.

They threaten with serving papers to your home, and work.  

I have very good friends in law enforcement, as well as lawyers.  Trust me it's a scam 100%.  It's a new tactic to scare people and unfortunately it scares everyone into paying them.  

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY, OR ANY INFO. ABOUT YOURSELF.

Legal 1 and associates phone number that left on my message was 1-888-257-3291 to call them.  The phone number that they called me says (Restricted-no number).

Legal 1 and associates called on a restricted line and left message they are going to serve me papers. They give me a case number, and said that I would be served from 12-5pm the following day, but they did not confirm my residence, the person's name was Kelly.  Checked the county records online and found nothing involving me, which I knew I had a clean record.  Found out online the this is a scam company trying to scare people to give them money.  

just got a call from some guy saying i was going to have papers served if i didnt call this number. no idea how they got my home number, i have one unpaid debt from 2007? and I've lived appx 5 places since then.
im guessing it is the 2007 debt because it's coming up on the 7 years thing.
i asked how they would find me and he was like national registry and we'll go to your place employment. interesting.
it was creepy that he knew my last 4 of my social.

This is nothing but a scam. I never got the "fyi" call about being served before time, ever. Just ignore the calls like that.

They won't show up.  They are scammers.  Anyway, NO ONE gets a heads up they'll be served a court summons (or arrested) - that would give the intended recipient of the court summons (or warrant) an opportunity not to be there!  Please do report your callers to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.  NEVER pay any caller who refuses to MAIL  a debt validation letter showing you owe a debt and that your caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  BTW, refusal to mail this documentation is another violation of the FDCPA.

did they ever show up? i've been getting the same calls telling me there going to be at my house tomorrow at 7am

the same guy just called me yesterday and left the same message....who are these people..they need to be reported

They called me yesterday stating that they have paper for me be serve...do anyone who these people are. I called the number and it went straight to a voice mail....Didnt even say what company whats it.

If you're gonna get served they don't give you a "courtesy" call, as he mentioned. I hate these scams and am tired of all the harassment.

He then went on to say I need to call (888) 257-3308 then he gave a case number to get this resolved. I'm so sick & tired of being harassed by scammers. Something needs to be done about them

I know!! no one calls to say "I am from legal 1 I am here to inform you that I have court orders to serve you today. Unless you called 888-257-3308 to stop the proceedings." Seriously!!, nice try debt collectors. :0)

Got a call at my job from Cash Yes for a loan that was taken out in 2011.  The caller Renee Scott advised they had been sending correspondence (she provided my current) with no response.  She claimed I had an amnt due of $182.50, but with court fees etc. the total would be $472.48 if I didn't settle out of court.  Otherwise, my account was in prep for me to be served paperwork for a court hearing. So, I requested she forward me an accounting of my account.

They said they are going to Serve me in 30 minutes. Who calls someone to say they are going to served?

No one calls ahead of time to let you know you'll be served.  The court process server just shows up.  Sounds like typical shady collectors or scammers who want to scare you into paying some bogus debt (or a debt that's already been paid).  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI, the Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.
