Got a call from "Michael Bond" from 20/20 Financial looking for the owner of the business, re: a State of New York Tax issue. Left the callback number 844-872-3864 (extension 143). This didn't match the number on the website for the company of that name, and the situation he described didn't reflect actual events at the business.

Called said that it was regarding a tax lein that was against my company as of last week.  I called my accountant and they called our contact at the IRS and advised me that it was a scam and that they were just trying to get my tax id # and info.
They also call from 720 974 9244

A guy named Ben called for me at my inlaws house & said that he was looking for me in regards to a tax matter & to call them back

This is a criminal scam that keeps changing their number so you do not find information on sites such as this one. They also call from 720 974 9244.  The usual spiel is "I have good news on your tax matter."  I have no tax problems and have not consulted any outside help on my taxes. I passed an audit about ten years ago with flying colors and always have a net credit with the federal and state tax authorities.

Michael Bond kept trying and left a few messages. I finally answered and told him he could stop calling.  His response was something about a lien filed against my company.  I told him he could talk to my accounting department, and he hung up.  Hopefully that was the last call I have to deal with from him.

Received a call exactly like everyone here describes, including the same callback and the extension of 143 for Michael Bond.  He left a message saying he was trying to reach the owners of my company, but he got our incorporation name completely wrong (first giveaway).  Then, he said he was calling in regards to a state tax issue we had.

Someone from 2020 financial services has no business calling me with the wrong company name to talk about anything related to my taxes.  No way I'm calling back.

Mike Bond called my business too with a lien from taxes issue.  1-888-262-4451 ext. 143.  Never calledback after reading these posts.

Received a call from this number at my business. The caller identified himself as Michael Bond and asked to speak to the owner regarding a state tax issue.

Received a call picked up from our answering service.  Gave their name as "Michael Bond" calling from 20 20 Financial regarding a state tax matter.  Gotta love it.  I wonder if he has a brother named "James".   Very certain we have no state tax issues.

After reading the above, definitely a scam.

Thanks for the info everyone. I am getting calls like this every day and "Lauren Garnet" has called me THREE times this week (and it's only thursday) asking for "the owners". If you don't know their names, you don't need to reach them. If it's a state tax matter, the STATE will send a letter, not call without a company name or anything.

She told me it's "good news regarding state tax".

Received the same message from "Amber" from 2020 at 720-974-9241 on three occasions now, saying she had good news about my company's state tax issues.  My company doesn't have state tax issues.  My company doesn't even exist anymore.  I just never shut down the Google phone number.  Clearly some sort of scam.

Had a message on my work phone from Kristen Craft at 2020 asking to speak with "Bruce", that she had some good news regarding a tax matter for (company name). I returned the call to her at 888-262-4451 ext 134.  I asked how she reached me because Bruce doesn't work in this building. She asked me to provide another # so she could reach him directly. Told her I couldn't give that out. The caller id # came up 2020
720-974-9241.

I just got a call at work asking to speak to the owner.  Dean Bueche at extension 133 He told me that the call was related to a recent lien filed against the Corporation and mentioned the IRS.

My taxes were filed and paid in full on time and I still get this call on my CELLULAR PHONE....and he wanted to argue with me that I owe back taxes!  Are you kidding me?

Caller (Sherry Birkshire) leaves messgage for owner or personal who handles taxes. Says they are calling with good news regarding a tax matter.

Caller ID says 2020 - did not answer - they left message with this 1 888 # and extension.

Said they are calling for the owner (no name given) and calling about tax matter????
