I received a letter from "Telecheck" stating I wrote a check in July 3, 2013 to Tractor Supply.  I do not shop there.  It says please call to correct this error.  Call 888-263-4935 upon receipt of this letter so that we may verify your banking information.  I called my bank and they said they had enough in the account at that time.  This is letter is fraud.

Telecheck is a legit company, but this is not them. My grandmother got this and I'm certain it is a scam. Here's a few reasons why:

According to their website, the headquarters is in Houston, the letter said City of Industry California
888 numbers are rarely good news
The numbers on the telecheck website are 800 numbeprs (including the one mentioned by an above poster
I called one of the numbers on the website. I was taken through the phone robot maze from hell. For twenty minutes I tried everything to get to a person, even the law enforcement only line. Probably they were closed. When I called the 888 number I initially heard the same recording (have this and that info ready, be aware our menu options have changed) but the audio quality was much poorer. Also I never was taken to the menu, there was hold music and then a person answered, at which point I hung up.

They did have my grandmother's full name and license number.

Ijust got the same thing. Business check for same amount, cleared bank, but sent to home address and my name!   Makes you wonder how secure sam's and check checking is???

Scam letter wanting me to pay them $166.42 or give my bank info to their 888 number.

I got a letter from Telecheck, looked real, had my exact transaction amount and item number but said failed transaction.  It cleared my bank, was written to Sams club.  When I called the number was not a telecheck number, and I certainly would not give them any information over the phone as they requested in the letter.  The part that got me was it was a corporate check on my corporate Sams club account yet the letter went to my home address.

I RECEIVED A LETTER WITH THIS NUMBER, THE LETTER EVEN LOOKS FAKE...

received a letter saying that ther was a transaction error with my check at wal-mart 1254 (which happens to be more than 8 hours from where I live).

Called this number after receiving a letter.  Told the CSR that the letter was fraudulent and that it would be reported.  She said, "Good job!  Have a nice day."  That's not any customer service I've ever heard of!  The letter looked very fake.

I received a letter. I checked with my bank they suggested not to call.

Oh my God.... I received 2 letters yesterday saying a check at Wal Mart did not clear.  I called Walmart and the store numbers are not even numbers for the stores here where I live.  Walmart said this is a scam.  One letter was asking for $309.89 and the other was 56.00 on the same day but at different locations.  I called the local police station and they said DO NOT GIVE these people any information.  It is a scam.  I also work for attorneys and they said they same thing.  I was told my the police to completely disregard the letters and to shred them.  I am going to file them away though in case something else comes up.  Do not call these people.  The corporate office states it is in Houston but they want you to send the money to California.  According to the atoorney's, do not respond in anyway to the letter and DO NOT give them your banking info.

TeleCheck is a legitimate company that handles electronic checking for companies such as Wal-Mart or J.C. Penny's. I received a notification that a check in the amount of $138.08 was unable to clear. Called Wal-Mart to verify legitimacy of TeleCheck Services, Inc. Turns out to be a real company. Then called TeleCheck at the number provided by Spencer with Wal-Mart. They were indeed trying to collect a dept from a check that did not clear, from a city I have never been to.

If you received this notice, it is in all likelihood a collection placed against you in regards to a fraudulent or forged check. Contact TeleCheck Services at 1-800-710-9898 Mon-Thu before 7p.m. CST or Fri before 7p.m. CST. If you don't clear it up, it will show up as a collection on your credit report.

oh my god i just recieved this same letter to day that i had made two differant transaction at two diffrant walmarts in killien tx ..i have never been.. This is so crazy... i am driving to the houston ,tx office tomorrow instead of phone calls...i talked to someone tonight from the website and the person on the line was very determined for mE to give him all my personal info and i said hell no!!!

There was a letter received from Telecheck company about a cheque that was written at a "Walmart" just as above.

It was supposedly written on a bank that I do not bank with and the cheque was written at a Walmart in a city (Conroe, Texas) which i have never visited.

I called them to see if i could clear this up, when all was said an done, not cleared up by any means, but its obviously a scam, anyways... The following occurred:

1. They were not able to produce this "Cheque."
2. They emailed an affidavit that wanted all your deep personal information with a tag line reading "Do not send Affidavit to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) or any other government agency."

Fishy activity to say the least... to all those wondering about this:
IT IS A SCAM, PLAIN AND CLEAR, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION WHAT SO EVER.

I recieved the letter,asking me detach bottom porting and return with payment,total Amount Due $339.91 I have never written a check at walmart for that amount. the letter had a Address in houston,Tx,Industry,Ca,and Glendale Hts,IL.it claim the check was written December 31,2008.I call my bank,and ask about check no. the check was back in 2006.this is a scam.

I recieved a letter stating that this is the Telecheck company.
The letter suggests that i have a failed transaction with Walmart.
As i don't shop at Walmart, i believe this is a scam.
