that's funny, my mother got that same number for a company called American Standard who also does scams on people trying to find forclosed houses. She were told that After they got the $199 (for title look-up fees) they would send an email listing of all the houses in our area at 2 pm. I came over to help her out with the net since she's not as well versed as i am on using it.I asked her about her conversation with them and found 2 things wrong with their story,
1. She failed to ask what company to be looking for in her Email for but they never elected to share ther at with her either.
2. having to give them the money first being the first clue.
waited until 2:30 then proceeded to call this number 1-888-269-8989 where we finally learned the name of the "company" because i needed to know so i could find it for her.
After finding out that name i did a search for American Standard forclosed homes and found multiple sites stating it was a scam then alerted her to call the bank and have a block done to her account. Her husband later called from his job stating that someone from that company called him and said for her to call yet another number because her account number was not right, to where she told him she never gave them his number so they shouldn't have never called him to begin with so why and how they got that is yet another question they need to answer, Ofcourse you can learn alot of info from someone's account number, it all depends on how stong secured companies that you do buissness are with your info and that company will need to also be dealt with accordingly. they probally planned on calling him anyways, probally trying to get a second bank account number from him also to double their take.
you can find their 1-888-269-9192 plastered all over the u.s. in multiple classified ad's in many news papers. as for this number it goes to show they are into more than just one scam.
I urge you to never call these people and to spread the word to any paper that has classifieds containing their number to stop circulation and have it removed so no others; the elderly and those with special needs especially, won't be taken by these people.

I just hung up with them. The very nice agent Erika told me that this was my last call to take advantage of this GREAT DEAL, but I told her I have to talk to my husband. I was buying time to keep on reading your comments. They went from $398 to 298. The last guy I spoke to on the original phone call have the nerve of telling me that this offer was offered to me two months ago. I told him "I am sorry that this was not a priority on my agenda" He actually told me this will be the last call and hung up.
I called back just to see if they will answer the phone and Erika picked up and tried again. I told her that I knew this was going to end up on a presentation at both hotels she told me it will only be a tour. More people keep coming to the phone every time I would ask a question that showed some interest. I was up to 4 people after Erika telling me “I understand you have a question how I can help you?” Then they went on to change or add to my extended vacation.
Finally, I told them that I just want to try the free cruise to see if I like it, because I own a timeshare and work for a big hotel change. I don’t need the extended vacation, and I don’t want to stay at those hotels on the extended vacation. The lady told me to hold for my free cruise - I was on hold for a few minutes - I didn't want to hold anymore because I didn't think no one was coming to talk to me again and I just hung up. I think that if they can't get you to buy into the extended vacation they don't want to give you the FREE cruise. The goal is to get you to the hotels to listen to the time share presentations. If you don’t book the extended vacation they don't care about the $118.00 for the cruise port charges from your FREE cruise.

These people are a-holes.(I say with a laugh)
One named Jock was a complete jerk to my wife so I called the manager Jim (another real DB) to let him know. He then told me my wife was "not telling me the whole story." Pretty much that my wife was lying to me.
They also questioned my wife's intelligence.
HA HA HA...
We said we didn't even have enough money in our account right now, and they said, "The money you'll save will be enough to pay for your overdraft fees."
WHAT? That is the worst policy ever. And the manager defended this. I imagine this is how they train them to sell. HARD HARD HARD.
You know... these are some quality people(sarcasm). Making 9 dollars an hour. Being complete jack-offs to the rest of the world.
Don't listen to these losers. Its a scam with tons of extra fees and hidden charges.

they sell millions to the bahamas each year, and out of the few complaints on this site (like 20 right? ha!) it just doesn't really matter. mostly because you sound like very ridiculous people and thats probably why you didnt get the trip. get over yourselves one day and you might have fun. and besides, you're not even important enough to listen to. thats why you chose this small site to say the tings that nobody in your personal lives has time to hear. ha ha ha...

Duh! It is pretty obviously they are after your credit card # if they insist on your paying before ending the call!

And by the way, their website.......
http://www.caribbeancl.com/index-3.html.
says they were just voted ""2010 BEST BAHAMAS CRUISE GETAWAY" by Porthole Magazine.
Checking Porthole Magazines "Best of" ratings..........they DO have a catagory for Best Bahamas Cruise Getaway 2010."

And Celebration Cruise Line was the Editor's Choice, NOT Caribbean Cruise Line.

Link to the corp address wasn't complete. Try this, just go to google maps....
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=s&utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-ha-na-us-bk-gm&utm_medium=ha&utm_term=google%20maps
Enter their alleged corporate address (direct from their own website under "Privacy Policy" at the bottom.)
Caribbean Cruise Line
531 SE 5th Court, Pompano Beach, FL 33060
And then click on the red balloon for the street view.
It's not even associated with the company as far as I can tell, so don't bother the victim who likely doesn't know their address being used.

@ Mr Smart GUY.......you're questioning why people are here, yet YOU'RE here defending a scam company filled with ignorant employees that work in a high pressure boiler room atmosphere trying to bait and switch a free 2 night cruise to the Caribbean and then hard sell you a longer, faux ugraded vacation package followed by a hard sell time share pitch? Did your overly aggressive, mercenary boss send you on here to defend the "company"? LOL.
This isn't the only link we researched after recieving their malodorous, insipid sales calls. (look up those big words, Mr Smart Guy.)
Many of the complaints sites are actually filled with warnings by either current or former employees afraid of repurcussions if they get caught warning anyone that this is an unethical scam.
By the manner in which you express yourself it seems likely you are one of their own sent on sites like this to try and debunk the scam info that most intelligent consumers quickly recognise and avoid. Your typing and spelling give you away. According to another employee, they only had to read a 5 minute scripted sales pitch, and anyone who did was hired on the spot.
So there are just 20 complaints here, huh? And you send MILLIONS to the Bahamas each year? With just 1 ship? ROFLMAO!
How about these complaints? Enjoy, Mr Smart Guy DBag.

I received a call from these people and I went along with them, stayed very polite and pretended to be interested (I went as far as asking them all the amenities and stuff, while pretending to write them all down). So of course, the man went through them all "paid cruise, paid meals, spending money for the cruise, 3 days 2 nights," etc. He kept going "Are you excited" and I kept going "Sure!"
Finally, I told them to get to the point, or the "catch" to the free cruise deal because I have a 10 month old boy who wants me off the phone...so they tell me "The only fee you will be charged is the government tax to leave and enter the country, which amounts to $59.00 per person, $118.00 total. That's not even a dent in your paycheck!" And they tell me that it has to be paid then to reserve our spot since others had applied for the "free cruise." So I tell them that I have to call my fiance, and that's when they scrambled and started getting a little aggressive telling me that I can't hang up because the offer will go to someone else. And very calmly I said "Ok, that's fine. I tried, but I would have to speak with my fiance." And they got more aggressive saying that it's a great deal and I should do what I can to get him on that line. So I lied and said I would have to hang up to call him, thanked the man for the offer and we hung up.
However, the story doesn't end there...because they still call every once in a while. Only when I pick up, there is SILENCE...but it doesn't hang up. And as I said before, I have a 10 month old boy..who happens to think it's hilarious when I pick up the phone. So today, I picked up and continually said "Hello" in different tones and voices (he was cracking up) and then I started SCREAMING it...and strange enough they hung up hahahaha....
So for all of you who have been harassed, if you have been trying to get them to stop calling you, just mess with their heads, don't take anything seriously and they will eventually stop!

Just so people know this is still going on since the last post was from last fall, I just got my second call.
The first time when I told the woman I wanted to talk it over with my boyfriend first she said it was an "exclusive one-time only offer" and that I had to decide during that phone call; she said they could only afford to call the winner once or else move on to someone else.
What a load.
student 2010-06-22 22:57:55 Unknown
I dont know who has been calling all of you... but the 3 people that have called me have all been hilarious... scam for sure, but still fun to talk to. One guy was telling me about the place in canada with the 10 000 lakes... I think he meant Thousand Islands.. but whatever. Also, claims that the gas is too high and... he's right.. it is. Taxes are too much and people apparently dont get healthcare out of it (which.. we actually totally have healthcare)... DUDE, are you even trying to sell me anything?!
Just have fun with them... they're dumb and easy to lead on. Turn the tables and tell them you work for a bank of some sort and they have won 15 000 dollars or something.. but that because of taxes, they owe you 4000 first. make them think you called them. They would not be hard to confuse.
And never give your credit card number over the phone. If you have won a trip from a big cruise line, you can pay at your nearest location.. if they're good, they're everywhere.

Monica 2010-06-07 14:14:57 Unknown
I just had a fight with them also. The guy started yelling at me and I told him my husband just had an aneurism and a stroke and he started yelling again that the cruise was good for 18 months and surely to God my husband would be better by then!!!! I am phone the BBB and reporting this company. This verges on Verbal Abuse and Harrassment. How dare this freakin guy talk to me like that, especially the things he said about my husband.

Oh yeah, you got a cruise, huh? That's funny. Are you sure you don't work for the 'company'? Hundreds of people feel it is a scam and you got a cruise and it is legit? Sure, tell us about it.
The people there have adult voices, but the mentality and smarts of a child. You are a liar- you did not get a legit cruise for two days for 59 dollars. Why not get a life and a real job?
Donna 2010-05-12 14:48:29 Unknown
I have read all the posts and I also recieved several calls from these people. However the funny thing is that I filled out the survey. I would not give out my credit card info becauise I agree thats dumb. I called lady back and yes she wanted me to pay taxes but I told her I couldnt with out talking with my husband. who by the way is an attorney and she said that if I didnt take the cruise now I couldnt have it at all, so I just hung up. They stopped calling for about 3 weeks and today I recieved a call. My husband and I both smell a rat.

These people are such D-Bags. Listen to this quote from them...
"The money you'll save will be enough to cover your over draft fees." HA HA HA. That was said in response to us saying we didn't have the money right now for the cruise.
The managers are just as thick headed as the high school drop outs they employ to make calls for them (btw the managers are more then likely failed loan officers or real estate agents who get aroused about managing a office full of Jr. High Educated losers).
Don't buy anything from these scammers. There is all sorts of hidden fees and charges. Oh yeah not to mention airfare.
Plus who would want to trust your vacation plans to people with the intellect of a 10 year old (sorry to 10 year olds out there because that probably offends you that I compared you with these people) and the customer service that makes the DOL look like Nordstroms.
I actually feel a little bad for these people. Their life must suck.

Ok, Im really upset with them now, Im a student, stressed out cant sleep, and again they called me at 4 in the F* morning!!! THank you so much!
I thought telemarketers couldn't call cellphones?
I have a few ideas for you folks if you would like to mess with them,
-For you risky people out there Give them a stolen card number.
-For those of you good with phone tech, pretend you work at the crtc and ask them lots of questions about their systems.
-Anyone looking to have fun, just talk, dont be productive, just have a laugh and mess with their heads, Im sure you can act insane enough.
-If youve got big nuckles, talk to them about jesus christ...(no offence)
-Call them back on another line, and pretend you work for the caribian cruse lines and they won a free trip to the bahamas. Dont forget to be a pushy stubborn talker. Make them want the trip!
-Call chuck, get him to round house kick em over the phone.
-USE YOUR HEAD! They want to mess with you, think of how to mess with them, you dont want them calling cuz they are unplesent and anoying, so why not give them the same feeling?
Good luck soldiers!

I recently got a call from 1-800-417-9257, and if you look the number up on this site, you can get the rundown of what happened.
Well, it's been four [calendar] days since then, and I've just received a call from 1-800-269-8989. The other line introduced himself, and mentioned that someone else had called on behalf of Caribbean Cruise Lines, and asked me if I remembered that call (it was four days ago... how could I forget?) and I said:
"Yes, and then she asked me for my credit card number, and I'm not down with giving it away to people. Have a lovely day."
As I went to hang up, the guy was saying something to the tune of "No, wait -- if you just-" And that's when I hung up.
The funny part is, they use the power of urgency that sales people like to use. "Act now, or forever miss out!!!!" It doesn't work with me. What's even funnier is that when I was on the phone with the first telemarketer, she told me that she couldn't call me back, and it was a one-time only opportunity... Well, if that's true, then why did the second number call me?
