They called private.  They left a message on my voicemail saying there was a civil suit taking place this afternoon and that I needed to contact jacobs and klein at 888-282-5313 to try and stop suit.

Jose and John need to make up their own statements instead of using each others. These guys are working for this debt collector.

Wow, so many haters and these guys are legit. I pulled my credit after I got a scam message telling me to call Jacobs and Klein, said she was with some processing department. The credit report said I owed some company Paystar Intl for a HSBC debt I had. When I called Jacobs and Klein they told me the same thing. Their client is Paystar Intl. I owed it so I paid it. Now 2 months later  its gone. Its been removed from my credit report completely. I owed like 10K, and settled for $3,600. I wish they had all my debt, Id play lets make a deal.

A man named Steven Randolph called my ex-stepmothers house and scared her (i haven't lived there in over a decade)and claimed to be with Jacobs and Klein Lawfirm and told my mother there is a summons for me. A clear VIOLATION of the privacy act. They know your address and phone number but would rather seek your family members.why? Because they want your family memebers to get involved. DON'T let them.So I called them to find out what the case was pertaining to and there secretary asked what my case number was (script reading) obviously to scare me and I said I didn't know.We then proceeded on and Susan klein said that I would be summoned to court tommorow (what happened to element of surprise?)if I didn't pay by the end of today. They're trying to force you to make an irrational decision by giving you a timeline ex 2-5 hrs and have your family members pay on your behalf.DO NOT let them.The funny thing is the debts' last activity was over 6 yrs ago. Talk about Statue of limitation Violation which is 4 yrs for my state. I ended the call and filed a complaint with both the BBB and FTC and the Attorney General. They have violated many Federal Fair Debt collections act and have violated the Statue of Limitations for my state.You can check the Statue of limitation for the debt collection by looking on  (http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/20040116b2.asp#ca. A credit card debt is an open ended account. If they have done the same to you I HIGHLY recommend you do the same and contact the BBB, the FTC, and the ATTORNEY GENERAL for your state.Their company is a subsidiary to PayStar Intl LLC. website is(www.paystarintl.com). They are a  do***ebag operation......Have any of you actually been served?...some people hear that  nonsense and fall prey to their tactics and cough up money.  They have been threatening me for over a year and nothing happens.....they insinuate that I will get sued for an ancient debt that legally cannot be collected because the statute of limitations has passed...so don't buy their b***s***, that's all it is.

Obviously, someone from Jacobs & Klein has seen these negative postings and is trying to legitimize their pirate tactics.

Someone called me to verify my address so I can get served. He gave me a case number. I recently had credit so I know who I owe money so this sounds suspicious. I was told to call the number above before 7PM. I called right away, but the call "could not be completely as dial".This is definitely a scam.

Someone had called my husband yesterday in 11/19/08 and said to have me call 888-282-5313...so I did. Needless to say they ARE NOT LIGIT. I talked to the receptionist she Would Not give me her name and when she asked for my case # I asked her who I had called, she replied "A Law Firm" very rudely. I asked which one she agian replied rudely "Jacobs and Klein." I did not hear the last name she had said so I asked again. she said "Honey I need your case number I have phones ringing" I told her when you tell me I will tell you. she spelled it for me "K-L-E-I-N." I gave her my number and she transfered me to Scott. He knew all my info and even told me I was young and asked if my mom could put it on her credit card.... as if he had already known she had one. He went on to tell me he needed me to call back with a solution by 11am it was only 8:45am I already received a summonds to court from them wait till they find out I am counter sueing for harrassment and emotional stress they've caused. They even contacted my mother claiming they will put me in jail.  This is not the first time they've harrassed me when I find the name and number of the previous name and info I will be sure to post it.

My daughter received a call saying I had listed her as my contact information. These people told her A summons was being delivered that day to me. I was a little concerned when the county was a different one than the one I live in.  Anyway I called the 1=888-282-5313 number and was told I owed Providian 10,000 and more dollars. I told the lady whose name was Jennifer Colon that I was not employed and I had no way to pay this and the amount was far more than I ever owed. She said she would call Providian and see if they would settle for less.  First of all she was not gone long enough to actually talk to these people but came back on the phone and said that Providian would settle for less and I had to pay $500.00 that day and pay the rest within 7 days. I did pay the $500.00 which was my house payment. I was ready to pay the rest which My daughter was going to put on a credit card for me. I decided to call this Jacobs and Kline back to let them know. Some man answered the phone. He said nothing about Jacobs and Kline. I asked for the extension number this Jennifer had given me and he in turn asked for the case # and said someone would be right with me. I waited for a couple of minutes and hung up. I had a bad feeling about this all along. Plus I was under the impression that Providian Bank was bought by Washington Mutual. Something else to look into.

How do you know that these scumbuckets are connected to the numbers you provided?

Harrassing phone call to my mother about a debt that is beyond the statute of limitations.  It is sad to see a company built on deception and fraud.  The caller said he was from "Jacobs & Klein."

My mother called me at work this morning (she lives in FL and I am in NC) from this company giving details about my personal account with Bank One Visa - advising I must call today before noon or I would be supeonded (sorry about spelling) - giving her details of my balance and history on the account - this is all private information - Said I would have my wages docked and leins placed against me. This is unethical and I was not comfortable calling them before looking into it via google - I am glad I did - I was able to reassure her that I was fine and not to worry - that this company is not authenitc and unethical. Its a terrible scare tactic and I don't know how people can sleep at night with these types of practices. I am also concerned as to how THEY got my infromation...this is concerning...Thinking of looking into it legally.

The caller ID says 631-753-3088, United Processing. They called my mother 2 days ago saying there is a summons for me to appear in court that very day, and if I call 888-282-5313, Jacobs and Klein or Kline??, I can stop the proceedings. They also called my ex-wife's aunt in Florida(I live in Ga.). I have seen their # on my caller ID for a few days, but tonight I got a VM from them saying "there is legal action being sent taken down through XXXX County for you referencing something about a vehicle. If you want to stop the proceedings call the firm of Jacobs and Kline." Never said law firm. Mentioned the name of my county of residence, but never said anything about a courthouse or hearing.

I just got a call from them too-- It was very similar. I actually paid some of the money and now I'm thinking it was a scam. What else did you find out? I'm talking to them tomorrow again to try to get some answers.

We received a call from 888-282-5313 today nov 10th.....Saying that we had to respond immediately regarding a lawsuit to 2p today against our son....they are associated with Providian.....said that they are trying to serve us today and gave us a case number.....they said they were Jacobs and Klein law firm in New York....you can not find anything on that firm in NY....they had my wife and i on a 3 way call,a third party violatio of the fair debt collions act...the phone person was rude, called us idiots, and slandered, harassed us...
we are looking into taking civil action against them, and providian,,,

I too have received calls from this same number. I ended up calling them back because the call made no mention of a suit. I told them to f*** off and they will not stop calling. The matter was concerning a debt that is more than 7 years old.

The company seems to be based out of an Equipment rental company in Arizona. The company name is Red Rock Equipment Rentals.

These guys are crafty and I'm talking to my lawyer about suing them for harassment and mental anguish. Time to stick it to the scam artists. All of this started after I answered a legit job post on craigslist.com :(
