Beware, this is a big NO. The number left something on my voicemail. However, it doesn't sound right, for real Fido would be leaving a voicemail in more of a computerized voice. This seemed more like a person than a computer.

However, don't know how they knew my name...

why do you think it's a scam?  if it's really fido's collections department, just hang up and wait for them to call you again.  (if you have an outstanding bill, i'm sure they will.)

i don't like tele-pests either, but i don't see any point in yelling at anybody for this.

Got this phone call a few times now. I called Fido directly 611 from my phone instead of calling them because feeling like it's a scam. Fido answers CCS said the 888 number does not belong to Fido.

I did not call the number back to test it out. But will totally ignoring this phone call.

It's fido calling, But nobody is ever at the end of the line. It's dead air. I am 2 days late and owed them $45.00

They must be desperate for the cash and on the verge of bankruptcy if they spend time, money, and effort, calling me for $77 when the bill might only be about 10 days late???  Piss on the grave of Ted Rogers.

Regs change province to province not all the same. Far as I know Sunday's are pretty much taboo all round. But, it's Fido, it's all relative but their not bad if u talk to them.

Just call the number back or the number you know as fido and ask them about it...

I had a Fido account years ago, and when I cancelled it I was told all fees were paid. 3 YEARS later I get a call saying I owe them 2000! So I called Fido and asked them to send me a bill in the mail and have yet to see this bill. That was almost 6 months ago.

They have called 3 times in the last three hours and when I pick up, no one speaks. Just an automated message telling me to call them. And when I do, there no one speaks with me. Just a very long wait time. I hung up.

Keep getting called from this number. They keep asking for "Ping". I believe it is from Fido. They've left an automated voice message saying they're from Fido. I've told them I am not Ping, but they keep calling. Argh.

I would get calls from fido all day everyday! They would leave automated messages. Today it came from a different number saying that they needed to talk to me about my account. I don't even have a fido account! I usually screen numbers like that.

Hey I got a call from this company and they left voice messages on my cell phone.  When I called I became suspicious so I hung up.  I went to my  last bill and the net and found that fido had a different contact number 1-888-481-3436.

When I got to an agent I asked them if the 888-288-2106 was a legitimate Fido number. The agent took two to three minutes and then came back to tell me that it was not.

This number has been calling my business line relentlessly for over a week.

Before I started blocking it, it would leave a message to call them back regarding my account. I am not a Fido customer.

I called Fido back and they said they'd remove me which hasn't happened. Remove me from what I wonder? Their spam list? What about the chance my land line is tied to a defunt account of theirs?

Tried calling back twice more to complain, but they leave you on hold forever. As a last resort, send them a threatening email and am blocking them once again.

Is this even Fido? The number is legit but I suppose it could be a phishing scam with a spoofed number?

Arthas, you obsolutely right!  I had Fido service for six years.  In the last four months, they keep on charge extras stuff that I didn't use, like texting, video, picture, internet, download game.  I have requested to have all of these features blocked along time ago, but still these charge apeared, when you call to dispute, everyone who answer the phone is a morons.  Simply they can not access my account to look up these information - needless to say they don't have a problem when call them for other issue other than dispute what on the invoice.  Finally I cancel it.

Oh I understand harrasment perfectly well. I have a fido account. I am 1 week late in making my 60.00 payment. I will pay the bill on payday. In the mean time they call my cell and then my home phone twice per day and hang up. I will use their phone till my contract is up and them I will tell them why I will not renew with them. I will also make it my hobby to tell everyone that I know about their harrasing policy. And then I will get on facebook and twitter and tell all of my firends, friends and they will tell their friends and you know what? Fido will have a very hard time getting anyone to take their service. This is Canada and I can fight back legally. This is goin to be fun. Would any one like to join me?

Anybody a little smart can choose a number like - 1-888-288-2106 to show in the display . As a fact the Canadian tax man-CCRA-use it to try to catch some people they do not like.....naughty boys.
It can also be used by fake company as well trying to get your credit card number. Labour is cheap in India and China but very rewarding
The fact is when you call back you actually end-up at Fido when the actual caller was not Fido.
Do a search for "Caller ID spoofing" and you will understand.

it is a error, and i just called, i had been factured for 16 $ of non local phone ( = 46 mins)

just so annoying the number of times these people call in one day from early morning to late into the night --- even more annoying when they wake up you AFTER you've gone to bed
The caller ID is Name Unknown and my cell is a Fido cell - what's with that? And, what is worse I have paid my bill and just into a 3 year contract.

If this is a Fido number I would understand why they would be calling me IF I didn't pay my bill.  But, my bill is fully paid.  How on earth do you get them to stop calling when all your bills are paid??????

Really is it Fido? F***, they call every friggin hour...even after i told them the person they are looking for wont be home until after 5! WTH don't they understand. Their waking up the family for no god damn reason! SOBs!

Hi everyone, I use to work for a Fido outsourcing customer service company and I'm having my cell phone with them.  I also received a call from them with that number.  There was nothing on the other end.  I can assure you it is a Fido call, most probably account receivable trying to get money for a late payment.  So yes, it is arrassment from them.  By the way folks, Fido doesn't outsource in India, it's all in Canada and they are doing business with many companies but for collection, it's all in Montreal at there office directly.  I you get them, ask them what is the cut off date for the suspension and tell them to go f*** them self and stop calling.
