This number is for Taft Services.  I guess you could call them a "Debt Collector".  They called and said I owe Golds Gym money and add all of these additional service charges.  I haven't had a membership with them in two years.  When I told the rep, my contract doesn't have anything regarding service charges she told me it the gyms policy.  I told her again I didn't sign off on it and I would contact the gym.  She kept talking and being rude so I hung up in her face.

I don't have a num come up but I know its my husband calling. I was accepting his calls before but now, when je calls I  get you have received a call from a prepaid and then hangs up. This is happening every time he calls now. Why???? Please help

my husband called and he had 10.00 dollar left on his calls and when call me back the next day it said 2.00 dollars.. it just took his min;s that i paid for...

PCS Inmate Phone Services is a BIG Scam. There are several reputible prepaid inmate phone services. They aren't cheap. But they all have one thing in common, you have to register the phone # your going to be calling and you can't call any other number.

What that means is he is trying to call and for you to accept the call you will have to set up an account to be able to recieve calls from there it is very expensive i think i get 20 mins for like $7.00

I have an account with this pcs  I went prepaid for 10 moths now that I want them to take it off they have refussed.  They said that once you go to the prepaid that you are signed up for lift  What is up with that.  My inmate goes to
tdcJ next week they use a different system.  PCS cahrges you to prepay and will not return any money that you may have on your prepaid account.  If you wish to hear from an inmate then send him money to buy a prepaid card in unit  This is cheaper and no rip offs

Hello my Family just got a phone call, telling them, that he was my friend and will send a car in the few days, my family call me and ask me if I knew about it, I told them I didn't give to no one there number, so please stop this person.

i went out and spent over100 bucks getting a prepaid card so i could put money on my cell phone and none of this was put on the phone my girl cant call and i get a b***s*** reording. its a con its a scam please lets put a stopp to this. all of us getting robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't want any more calls from   1-888-288-9879.  It is nothing but a money grabing scam . I tried to work with the automatic recording and set up an account.  but every time that they would call me back it would go to a busy signal. If they are going to have a program they need to learn how to operate it correctly.

Geese people....have common sense.  1.  you should not accept a call like this to begin with unless  You set up the account yourself and its a friend or family member in jail.  2.  there are many many facilities that use this service for inmate calls.  3.  just because you block your number from a certain inmate 's id. number number doesn't mean another inmate won't call you for that person you blocked already.  
I know how it works as i am a California correctional officer.   and to the people who wonder why they r getting these calls and then realize its their loved one or friend who has been MIA for some time...really?  common sense...ok?

So for all of you out there that think PCS or Public Communication Services is a Scam. They are not I know this because i work for them. I want you all out there to know that we are not a scam i have seen some people who do understand that we do not set the rates the Facilities do that. Yes there is a message saying that you need a prepaid acct to recieve calls but you can recieve collect call and debit (calls paid for by inmates) however all you have to do is simply accept the call dont agree to the prepaid call system and you can continue to get those collect calls we also will not allow you use more than $150 per month i know seem high but when you think about it if your rates are high it dont take long to get there i have had people tell me they used to pay over $15 per call so thats ten calls a month if you want to limit the amount you spend that is what the prepaid acct is for it also allows you to spend as much as you want i have a few friends who are in prison and i use the system myself. So for those of you out there just running your mouth like your smart you really arent, for those of you complaining about rates maybe you should just have some smarter friends and family members, as for those who recieve calls stating that they are recieving calls from someone in a DOC simply call the number and ask to put a secure block on your phone and they will help you with that. To get a live agent keep hitting 5 after you enter you Zip and the system will say that is an invalid response, but keep doing it and you will get an agent sorry for all the problems. Also if you get one from 18554662832 it is PCS but for the MI DOC and that does not include the county jails only the prison system... Peace

PCS is phone service for prisoners in state and local jails/prisons.

I got one of these a day for 3-4 days till I had enough.

Call 888-288-9879 on the phone you want blocked, wait thru the prompts, confirm the phone,  say no toa dding money to your account ot getting a balance. They will transfer you to a person after a while. They will confirm account ( your phone number again). Explain that your  being harrassed and what the calls stopped. They will ask what state or facility. They assume you have a relationship with some  person in prison and that's why the person in prison has your number. I had to explain that I didn't know anyone in prison, however I was in X state. They said they would block calls to my number from  county prison in X.  I asked if I could ALL prisons blocked, and they said sure. (It's my work phone, if my friends and family call from prison, it will be on personal cell phone anyway.)

Got the call from this number at 10:43 pm on my cellphone and saying someone in the jail want to talk. I don't know anybody in jail. So i hang up. About 1 hour later they called again, of course i hang up again. Then i called everybody i know, nobody in jail. I wonder how they got mu cellphone number.

Got a call from this number at 2AM Wednesday morning!!! Asked me if I wanted to set up or fund a correctional facility account. I do not know anyone in jail or prison. Now me, my husband and my 2 year old are all awake!!!!

Don't know anyone in jail both kids are safe & sound.  Really annoying

Got a call from the number, but no message.  Called the number back from a different/unlisted number, and an automated menu for "PCS" answered.  I have no clue what "PCS" is.

I received a telephone call from 888 288 9879 Sunday, May 1, 2010...I was asked to punch 0 key to talk...there was to be no charge to my telephone....I asked the man if there would be a charge and he stated it was debit call he was using...his name was said to be George Silva or Silver...he was asking for information regarding a relative who is incarcerated and wanted to know if this relative of mine had been released....I told him no....he said they 'needed to finalize their plans' for whatever that means!  I have been unsuccessful in obtaining information regarding any such person.

I received this call today from this number and I am glad I answered.  My son was in JAIL and it is a legit number.  It was a complimentary phone call from the jail that lasted 2 minutes.  But im glad i answered because I wouldnt know that my  brother was in jail

This isn't exactly a jail. They tell you where the call is from and who is calling you. The operator prompts you in the beginning with all the information. I got calls from Willacy Detention Center in Texas from someone I knew. So your best bet is to pick up.

I got this call yesterday, but unlike other people here reporting, the prerecorded message I recieved when answering the phone only said " To accept, press 1, to reject, press 2 and hang up" Afraid it was a collect call, I pressed 2, but the same message repeated. I called the number up and now it was saying it was PCS telling me MY # and asked if I wanted to check my account balance. By then I was really wondering, so I called the phone company repair #. They didn't even have this much info as I have read about here.

got the same call a few times but it said it was from richmond county jail. the person never said a name he just said a phone number

I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER, USUALLY LATE AT NIGHT.  THE MESSAGE IS "YOU ARE NOW ABLE TO SET UP ACCOUNTS BY EITHER USING MY PHONE KEYPAD OR BY STAYING ON THE LINE.  IT ALSO ANSWERS SOMETHING IN A LATINO VOICE WHICH I CANNOT UNDERSTAND.

DURING ONE MESSAGE, IT MENTIONED THAT IS WAS FROM THE FRANKLIN COUNTY CORRECTION CENTER OF SOME SORT.
