Unwanted calls.  no answer, no response.  and i pay for "do not call list."

Just got Brighthouse installed last Saturday!  The 888-289-8988 started on Monday!

Its Brighthouse calling to ask you how your install went. Answer the F****ng phone. Its not the person that you owe money too. You dirty call screeners.

Mr. Number (Android App) has an automatic "pickup and hangup" function that I recommend to block Blight House. Good luck and wish me luck that Verizon will come along and install Fiber Optic direct to my apartment in the near future.

This may be BrighHouse sales or tech, and I AM a BrightHouse customer, but they have called every single day at dinnertime for five consecutive days, and never once left a message, identified themselves, and Caller ID says only "800 Service." So whoever they are, they've earned themselves at least six months on my blocked number list, ironically, administered via the BrightHouse website, LOL...

if you call this number back, it is NOT bright house....it's Wells Fargo Bank.

It is crazy that this number has been spamming since 2007! Incredible!

Repeated calls at least once daily. Hope this glitch is soon remedied.

i had been receiving these calls for months. called brighthouse - confirmed this is a telemarketing call. Asked to be removed from the list and they happily complied.

I got this call for the past month every day at the same time, mostly at night.
very annoying.

I recieved one call April 10 2013 at approximately 1745 hours EST. No voice mail was left. I have not returned the call but suspect an error in their (Brighthouse's) VoIP system. If it happens multiple times I plan to pursue with BH, but one stray phone call is not the end of the world.

this is the second time in 2 days they call me...i do not answer..

The number 888-289-8988 is Bright House Tampa Bay customer service.  I do subscribe to their service.  I called back to find out why they are calling and they had no information.  Probably a sales pitch.  They said they would discontinue the calls, we'll see.

I don't know why Bright House keeps randomly calling my cell.  I only gave them the number for the one day they came out for a repair service.  I don't need them calling me intermittently after the fact!

This number keeps calling 2 or 3 times a day.
No one ever answers or leaves a message.
What's up and if it is Bright House why in the world can't they fix this problem.
I'm going to report them to FCC.

BrightHouse calling to see if my installation is working smoothly.

I get calls from this number.  A individual will call me by my name and want to sell/talk to me and I will indicate that I am not interested in what he wants to sell/talk or whatever.  I hang up and he will call me right back.  I have gotten profane with him and it doesn't bother him at all.  He keeps calling.  I've had to let him call and then I will just hit the answer button and then lay the phone down.  He finally will hang up.

dont know these people and do not want them to call again

Follow-up to my post on 10/1/2012.  After viewing the other comments from people receiving calls from the 888-289-8988, of which, is Brighthouse's Customer Service Number, I decided I needed to go a step further.  

The many posts shown here shows these calls have been ongoing for years, and mine as recent as 10/1/12, so clearly Brighthouse has not done much in the way of investigating these calls.

I filed a complaint with my Attorney General, Federal Trades Commission and Federal Communication Commission (FCC).  The FCC must be contacted to assure that these calls coming through the phone lines are addressed and looked into in depth.

In my case, when the person called me from 888-289-8988, there message was that a "formal complaint" was being filed against me, and left the 877-628-7409 to call, of which, is United Legal Services.  This company has been harrassing people for some time know and no one is stopping them.

Hopefully contacting the State Attorney General, FTC and FCC will get us all some resolution.

Brighthouse called from 888 289-8988 and left a message on my cellphone & my home phone claiming there is a formal complaint filed against me and they needed my place of employment and address.  They said I could call the person that is filing the complaint at 877 628-7409 and use docket number xxxxxx. I called the number and they answered United.

I asked the person what is this company and she sort of laughed. I told her about the message and the name she used is not my name. She asked for the docket number, of which I gave it to her, and she asked me for my name. I would not give her my name, so she said "then I can't help you".

The name she used was my former married name from back in the 60's. No clue how she even got that name.

I called the 888 289-8988, by selecting the number and pressed dial, of which, is Brighthouse. Brighthouse tells me my account is up-to-date and verifies my name and claims they never called me.  I told them, well your number is on my caller ID and I selected the number on my phone and pressed redial, and it went to Brighthouse.

I had a 20 minute run-around with Brighthouse with them telling me they didn't call me, and I am telling them but you did, because your number is on my caller ID and when I press the number to call it, it goes right to Brighthouse.

I asked Brighthouse to call the 877- 628-7409 because this is the number they left on my voice mail, but they wouldn't do it.

I asked for a Supervisor and held on another 20 minutes (now 40 minutes), of which, they told me a Supervisor will call me back.  It is now nearly 1/2 hour and still no call from Brighthouse.

I refuse to be pacified by Brighthouse and they need to fix this and fix it QUICK!

Brighthouse finally called and I went through the whole thing again. It is a Brighthouse number (customer service) 888-289-8988, however, they did not leave the message to call 877 628-7409 and gave docket number xxxxxx.  I asked Brighthouse to call the number, and they did, and the company answered United Legal Systems.  They asked the Brighthouse caller if she was the name on the docket and she said no, but received the message.  United gave her a couple of digits from a phone number of 458, of which, is nowhere near my home phone or cell phone or any phone number I have ever had in my lifetime.

Brighthouse will inform their Security about this scam, as I told them, more than likely more Brighthouse customers are going to be getting this phone call, scary the hell out of their  customers.

Get about two calls a day while at work. I just signed up for brightouse. I have never picked up, but I assume its them from reading above. Ill pick up one day and see what they say.

It's just Brighthouse doing a customer care follow-up to grade the installer.  Took just a few seconds.  The momentary silence was merely due to calls being placed by a dialer.

Repeatedly calls and hangs up. Routing yet another brighthouse phone number directly to voicemail. I win brighthouse. :)

I can't believe this problem has been going on for over 4 years and Brighthouse hasn't fixed it.  The CSR could only say they would put me on the DNC list for their telemarketing group.  I told them, the problem wasn't being called by telemarketers.  The problem was being called several times a day and only getting a "click" disconnect sound.  She was unresponsive and just said she would put me on the DNC list.  PROBLEM STILL NOT FIXED!  Can kicked down the road!  Fixed the symptom...not the problem.  Just on more reason to change providers.
