If you're ready and available to help, then maybe you could help me. I signed up for your "healthcare," and a week later decided I didn't want it. Since Tennessee has a 15 day looking period, I was legally able to cancel, but after I tried calling more than a dozen times, only to wait and wait and wait and wait, and get put on hold and connected but never talking to people, I still have not been able to cancel, and it has exceeded the number of days. I also was to receive a letter that I was in turn to sign and send back before coverage began, and failure to do so would result in me receiving the initial payment back and a cessation to future coverage and payments and a cancellation of the account. I did NOT sign this paper and send it back in. And yesterday I was billed again, this being the second month. That's illegal. And if I don't get the customer service I need, then I will have to go to greater measures, including contacting my lawyer and getting everything straightened out. Please extend the great customer service you have spoken of to me.

This is really poor insurance.I had to go to hospital for blocked arteries in my leg. I went in at 7am had the surgery and was released at 1pm the next day. I thought I had insurance to cover this procedure. I almost had a heart attack when I got a bill from the hospital for over $55,203.05. The "insurance" paid $2,428.00. When I called to find out why, I was told that my operation was considered outpatient and was not covered. Any surgery that you are in hospital for 72 hours or less is "out patient" Now I am in debt for all this money and I still need to have more surgery. Take advice from me, pay the higher premiums for a reputable insurance company like Blue Cross Blue Shield. You pay each month to be free of a shocker like I got. The difference in mpremiums is not that much more, for me was $100.

It's to bad that your customer service personnel cannot answer or return calls or you would probably retain more of your members.  After 48 hours with no return calls I finally cancelled my credit card to keep you from steeling more of my money while i sent a cancellation to the president of HCCUA.   Guess what!  She does not return calls or respond to emails either.  My only regret is that I paid a lot of money for nothing.  I will file my complaint with the Florida Insurance commisioners office to see if they can do anything about these ripoffs.

HCCUA does NOT cover pre existing conditions for the first year and in my case denied claims for no good reason after the year.  In my opinion it is one of the biggest RIPOFFS I have ever seen.  They do not return calls but are very timely taking your money.  After a year and a half and $5,400 I wised up and cancelled.

I just cancelled my membership in your organization. I had it for about 3 years since I felt like it was better than no insurance at all. I was wrong. When I actually needed the services, I called your company and they told me that Dr. Dent in Florence, SC was in the network. I called him to make an appointment and was told that they did not honor the service. Several weeks previous to that I had spoken with Lisa Simone about her offer to obtain a necessary brand name drug for me, and my doctor had faxed the paperwork to have it approved. I made several phone calls to her,weeks later, when I need the drug, to obtain the status of this.She never returned my phone calls.A whiney effeminate man I spoke to in customer service about the issue got angry and hung up on me when i called regarding my problems this morning. I still have membership in your company until the 30 of this month, and the least you can do is to emaill me regarding the status of my drug application with Lisa Simona. I have been with HCCUA for over 1 year now. Tho there have been a few "blips" they have done a better job then the Blue Cross plan I was with before. It covers myself and my 3 children, one of whom is a newborn. I had a $700+ bill from my kids doctor and after all the PALIC fees were paid, my balance was $300. Still a bit our of pocket, but better then the original bill. They also paid for my daughters MRI, and my own outpatient surgery. Just like any other insurance, you have to make sure your doctor gets verification BEFORE you have any expensive procedures, etc. Just like any other health plan. I get EOB's in the mail all the time from them like any other other normal health insurance. I had a great experience with Leanne in customer service when the hospital I had to deal with were jerks. Thank God for her!

I do not work for any of these companies, I'm just a satisfied customer that wanted to voice her opinion. There will always be people that it does not work for, but it DOES work for our family.

I work in a dr's office and do not have the time to be on the phone for so long.......you either need extra help or get a better way of answering the providers phone calls....the patient will be made aware of this situation and she will not be very happy with your company.........PLEASE fix this problem..............mama

I am a member, and I have had trouble with claims since obtaining the insurance over a year ago- I wish someone from the company would explain to me why, approximately 3 months after every office visit/test they send me a form to fill out wanting MORE info in order to process the claim...Should that info come from more qualified people like the doctors office? I called and talked to cs, and was told if I didn't fill out the form, the claim wouldn;t be paid. I was also told to copy all of those forms because they are routinely LOST, and I would need those as proof. I would honestly just like to continue my coverage, since they took the chance to insure me, but if things don't improve, I don't think this is worth it. I also cannot log into the member section of the website no matter what I do

Also am intimately knowledgable about this company.

If they know who you are after you have either quit or are fired, and you put your real name here, they WILL sue the ex-employee.

This company is a scam.  They try to fool the consumer with fancy wording, but literally they stall and don't refund and payout almost nothing in benefits.

Just do not even call them.  Don't try it out and try to get a refund.

You will only get heartache.

I called and asked about this insurance company (HHCCUA.org - 1.800.850.8869) and the gentleman I talked to was rude when I told him that all I wanted was some information and that MY information was not important - At this point in the conversation.   He refused to tell me anything and said "go look at the website."  (All the OTHER legitimate insurance companies I called told me what I needed over the phone)

So here is my question:  This company HHCCUA; has several RIP-OFF reports posted on the web plus there are several disgruntled comments on posted here.  There can be no dispute that with this many negative comments - There is something NOT RIGHT HERE and consumers are being RIPPED OFF by this company.  Companies like this and everyone who works for them NEEDS TO GO TO BE FINED AND THEN GO TO JAIL !!!!   I AM TIRED OF CROOKS !!!

I have been reading the posts..i to have falling to the bogus cancelation of the "cancel@huccua.org" e-mail!! I have since contacted the State Attorney General, Better Business Bureau and the State Fraud Dept. Complaint forms will be sent if i do not receive my credit by the end of this month. If any of you "huccuas" are reading this post...credit me. Or all necesary and legal complaint forms will be filed through our attorneys office.

I am surprised and confused by your comment.  We have no law suits pending and no unresolved issues with any state agency or department of insurance that I am aware of, and I assure you that I would know! SO -what "court" are you referring to? (I fear that it is the "court" of misinformation.)

Blogs like this offer a wonderful way for people who would normally not get a chance to know one another to share information and ideas. The one concern that I have with blogs is that any individual can post/assert anything they want with no process for accountability as to the accuracy of what they are saying. This can be very misleading to those who are reading it and assuming that what folks are saying is true.
