Your "mediator" is a lying lowlife scammer.

A mediator is a neutral third party that assists the two parties to a dispute settle their differences in a structured framework so as to avoid litigation.  They don't "try to receive payment" on payday loans, ask "how are you going to take care of it," or send your case to an attorney to file a lawsuit against you.  And you have a right to know who the mediator is because, among other things, they can incur legal liability to you for some types of actions (perhaps including the ones you described).  It would be nice to know the identity of the mediator in case you have to sue him!

EVERYONE-  These people are fraudulent scammers.  DO NOT give them ANY information.  ALWAYS tell them that you want WRITTEN proof of the debt they CLAIM  you owe (p.s. you do not owe these scammers anything).  They will refuse to give you anything in writing USPS mail that is.  Why you ask?  Simply because IF they send you via mail a FAKE debt validation letter, that becomes a FEDERAL OFFENSE because they are now using the postal service as a means to extort money.  Tell them you are recording the phone call, they will HANG UP on you- does that sound legitimate????  Oh, also, process servers DO NOT call you before hand to tell you that you are being served!!!  A process server gets PAID ONCE THEY SERVE you court documents.  Why would they warn you that you are going to be served... that just would give you ADVANCED NOTICE to NOT BE HOME OR AT WORK.  A court case CANNOT move forward in civil court if you are not properly served... THEY DO NOT CALL AHEAD to tell you they are on their way!

Do what I do, I have the feature with my phone provider to forward certain callers to certain numbers. When I get one of these calls, I have that number now forwarded to the my attorney general's office!

These people are illegal scammers.  After they call you with an ILLEGAL voice mail, call them back. Ask them for their mailing address, they will REFUSE to give it to you.  Ask them how you can you send certified mail to them, they say you cant.  These people are illegal scam artists.

Got a call yesterday. Said I owed 2065.89 for a payday loan. I wanted proof but they would not provide. Call local attorney they said if I can not get proof don't pay. They are scammers. Thank you Lord for being there. They may have tried to take more than that.

I have a lady by the name of Tammy Johnson calling my cell phone with a case number.  She says she is a mediator and trying to receive payment for an outstanding payday loan before I am summons to court.  
She said I owe 755.19.  How am I going to take care of it she says.  When I ask her vital information so I know I am paying for someone legitmate she become defensive.  Today she was very defensive and said she is not going through my entire file to tell me nothing.  She said she is writing my file off to go to the Attorney to file a lawsuit against me.

NOBODY but the IRS can put you in jail for a debt. Nobody! Laugh at them and tell them to do it.

These people tried harassing me today. Said I cosigned a loan and owed them $2500 or they were going to sue me. I used to be a legitimate collector. I asked them why they didn't notify me of rights under FCRA and said I disputed debt and wanted their address to dispute it in writing. Refused to give me any info including their name. They even called my mother in law, but that info could of been obtained from student loan data. I told them that I dare them to try and sue me. The snotty bi*** hung up on me.

I have been receiving calls from a man identifing himself as Mr. Davis from Burke and Myers (called from 704-612-5265) Stating that he has papers to serve me as well.  He has also called my family and my employer.  Wants me to fax him a copy of the reciept where I paid a pay day loan over 2 years ago.  He gave the following fax number 888-669-3708

Yes they are a collection company.  I dealt with them today

I received a call from them today they told me I needed to pay by Friday 450.00 to stop the suing part and they were going to put me on a plan 108.00 a week.. I had to pay service fees of 8.00 everytime I pay on this payday loan.. They asked me if I was ever in jail because that's where I am going if I don't pay. They called all my aunt and other family members to track me down.. So embrassed I cannot believe how stupid they are.. I spoke to two women and they told me they were going to put a lien on my license and my car.. They were going to garnish my wages too.. I told them I don't work so what are they going to garnish?? They also said only by credit card u can pay no accounts.. I was told to take my school loans and put it towards this collection item instead of using it for school I explained to get that I did not have any students loans to take money against to pay this debit.. Tried calling back got a busy signal I have to call on Friday to a 301 number to make payments that's in Maryland. I checked it out...

James Carter called and said he was serving me papers for pay day loan. The date given I didn't receive anything. SCAMMERS they also chane their phone numbers to contact you.

3685 Harlem rd. Buffalo, NY 14206.  716-748-6269  is good numeber to reach the owner. They go by B.S.A,, Bernstein Seigal & Associates. They also like to use Burk & Meyers. They are nothing but a collection agency. They will not sue you. I know a person that works there. They get a bonus check if they collect enough money. They also use an internet phone system so it looks like they are in different states. Other numbers they use are:
213-995-6219, 302-380-7512, 804-420-4845, 877-617-8222. They have several others. I called the 213 area code then the 804 area code and the same girl answered bothe lines. Pretty good she can be in Virginia & California at the same time! Do not give them a dime! The owner has been in prison, you would have to be crazy to give them any thing other than a ceist & desist letter.

Also: call their landlord and let him know what kind of business is being done from his building: 716-542-9771.  I'm sure he will get sick of the complaints. He doesnt even know that they are a collection agency.

James Carter calls from 855-861-2242 and then 2 days later 203-610-6460.  Call the 203 XXX number spoke with a Tammy Johnson and supposively its Burke & Myers Information Center. WTH? are these people trying to prove. They give me a Fax # 888-669-3708 to show proof a payday loan was paid off from 2010. the problem My date on my loan and the date they are trying to collect on are totally different months. SCAMMERS these people are. Calling my State Police dept. Payday loans are illegal in my state.

I recieved a call from Jonathan Reed claiming he was with Burke and Myers telling me I was going to be served today, that they were filing a warrant for my arrest on 2 charges. Said to call  302-380-7512 in order to work things out with the complaintant. This is the 2nd call.

I have received 3 phone calls from "Jones and Myers".  A guy named James Carter has left threatening voice mail messages saying they want to serve me with papers to go to court for a civil complaint (breach of contract & malicious intent to defraud etc.).  They say I owe $550.00 to Global Group Holdings LLC from December 2009.  The number left is (888) 768-3843, but the last call came in on (888) 291-5232.  Does anyone know about these people?  I did take out pay day loans, but these have been paid.  I'd appreciate any feedback or help.  This is kind of scaring me which I know is their intention.

Just received a telephone call at work, and they stated they wanted to speak with the person in charge. They wanted to know the procedure in serving someone at my work.  I told them to serve them at their residence. He said that he did, but she is ducking from us.  He definitely should not be telling a third party that a debtor is ducking from them. And, there is no civil complaint filed with the courthouse.  What bull crap.

Called and left no message.

Threatening to serve me papers and take me to court on a civil complaint that has been filed, but I ahve no clue as to the company.

I just received the same type of call the number it came from was 267-801-0896 and told me to call 888-291-5232.  She said she was Victoria Arnold and received a fax to servce me a summons regarding a civil suit to appear at my local magistrate.

I don't know what it's about.

i received the same phone call. they said they went to my house (my old address) and described it perfectly...which they could've found this information on google maps. I have checked the clerk's office to see if there are any records for me to receive a summons, and they did not.

stating that they have a summond fopr me and they want to bring to my job to serve me.Will not give me the name of the company that they claim they are reprensenting. No company is going to call yo if they are going to serve you a summon.
