I did receive too many calls too from this number, don't know how they get
since I am in the -no call list-...Could it be the same cel phone services
providing them with phone #'s? It is insane, a damn nuisance!

This is a Verizon customer service #. It's someone trying to get you to upgrade your plan. They don't leave messages because they know you won't call them back. If you're happy with your plan, either ignore it or answer it and tell them to stop calling.

I receive daily phone calls from this number and of course no one is ever on the other end.  I used my house phone to call this number back today because I am sick of the daily nuisance calls.  When I spoke to the gentleman on the other end he asked for my cell phone number, my name, the last four numbers of my social and my cell phone password.  I gave him my cell number and first name but told him that I refused to give him the last four numbers of my social and my password.  He said that he could no go any further in discussing my account.  I told him that my wish was that he/the company would quit making annoying phone calls to me on a daily basis.  He said that he would see what he could do about that and hung up!

I received a call from them tonight - at nearly 9pm. No message left for me either. If I don't know you, I'm not answering an unknown call that late in the evening - very late for a sales call if you ask me.

Ok, I was totally annoyed, this number would call me 4-5 times a day; here is how to fix it!!

Call 1-200-333-9956 and follow the prompts - I just did it and it should work.  I'll post back if I continue to get the calls.  Good luck.

I just went to my verizon online and selected the support tab.  Midway through the page (left side) it states email - so that is what I did.  I created an email as other - stating the request for them to stop calling me for this same issue - upgrade your phone.  What will happen is verizon sends you a confirmation emial of your question, they then have 24 -48 hours to respond; but the kicker is; you now have an email in writing asking them to stop calling.  

We will see what happens.

I was starting to wonder when I received calls from this number between 9:15AM and 9:30AM every day for 3 consecutive days with no messages (which is what led me to an online search and this site); I'm also on the do not call list and don't give out my cell phone number to many businesses. (I'd wondered if it was for a survey, since I believe the laws regarding researchers and cell phone numbers may have changed since some people only have cell phones nowadays.) This site was very enlightening, as I also have a Verizon cell phone. I don't have a text plan since I normally don't send or receive text messages, but recently at the airport I sent and received a fair number of texts when my flight was canceled. So I assume this is what triggered the marketing calls from Verizon. (Mind you, I still don't want a text plan and I knew I could contact Verizon myself if I did want to change my plan.) I then logged into my Verizon wireless account and found I could block up to 5 numbers (the block lasts for 3 months), so I put this one down to block. Hopefully that will immediately eliminate these nuisance calls!

I just received a call from this number, and of course there was no message. Decided to do a little Google number search and found this site. Very good to know Verizon is trying to wring more money out of its customers by false marketing practices. I've always been happy with my service, but I certainly don't hold up a phone company as a paragon of virtue and honesty.
I've received marketing texts from them in the past, too, and I really want to know: do they charge for those dang incoming marketing texts as they would for a text from anyone else?!

Got the call on my cell and I didn't pick it up.  No voice mail message left. So I called the number on my work phone and spoke to some guy.  

He asked for my cell number, and I gave it to him.  He then asked for my name, I didn't give it to him.  But he entered the phone number into his computer and got my name.

I asked him to discontinue calling my phone - he started talking about how the marketing people had probably called to talk about texting charges or something.  I asked that they refrain from doing so in the future.  He read me a prepared script stating that he had placed my request into the queue and that it may take up to 30 days to process - and that, therefore, I may still receive some calls during the interim.

The guy was pleasant, respectful and helpful the entire time....but it was definitely a slimy/scammy marketing operation.

I received a call from this number.  I called from another phone.  When they answered I told them I wouldn't give them any information because I can't verify who they are.  She said that she is from Verizon and without having my info, I was either called because I have no text messaging plan or I have been going over my text messaging limit and they want to help me with either of those problems.  I told them I wasn't interested and am happy the way my plan is (still not knowing whether they were with Verizon or not).  

As an FYI, if you are on a do-not-call list, if you have an existing contract with a business, they are not bound by that list. If you want off their list, you would have to contact them directly to be taken off.

Ok, here's something no one has mentioned yet. The day before I started receiving these calls, I got a txt message from Verizon saying "FREE VZW MSG: You are trending to incur high text msg charges or exceed the txt pkg allowance on your acct this month. Call 800-728-5815. Reply Q 2 optout"

Of course I checked my account and I've used 60/600 txt's (and the billing cycle is up in a few days!) So now I've been getting these phone calls at least once a day now.

It's all BS and I think they're just trying snake more money out of unsuspecting customers. Nice company you have there.
