OMG HE JUST CALLED ME!!! saying the same thing. Saying that back in 2000 I had an associates card and now Chase bought it out.  When he looked online he saw that it was not on my credit report.  I have a lock on my reports.  He gave me all his contacts and said he would get back to me... SO scary!!!

No calls are coming from this number, but from 585-507-4772.  However, this is the number in their correspondence I demanded they send me (note: they only sent it via email because they said I only had until Friday to resolve it and to mail it I wouldn't get it in time).  They are calling about a payday loan that I previously paid in November 2009 through a different collection agency, from which I have a paid in full letter.  This new company has emailed me a letter with an offer (saying I owe $1,160.67 but will accept $660.67), an affidavit and a copy of the original bill of sale of the note from January 2009. However, since I paid in November 2009, who knows if they still owned the note then.  I recently applied for a loan, and it seems like every time I've done that, someone calls trying to collect on this same old debt (hence, why I keep this paid in full letter handy).  As a matter of fact, the woman on the phone also referred back to my conversation with them from back in March 2010 when I told them I had already paid this and got this letter to prove it.  Still, over 2 years later, they are calling.  But nothing has come in writing to me.  I find that interesting. All over the phone.  Surprised I got an email.

I received a voicemail from a Tim Jenkel today concerning pending litigation. The callback number was 585-507-4773. I never answer or return these calls - they're a joke.

This # 888 294 4740 keep calling my mother telling her that I need to contact them immediately regarding a possible litigation against me, direct line 585 286 3012.  I haven't called back yet but I hate that they call and scare my mother.  I always tell this type of callers if this is legal serve me.

Received voice mail message that I need to call 888-294-4740, concerning a legal matter, with my SS#. I-am 72 years old, and I do not owe anybody any money, and haven't owed anyone for the past 20 years. They want a lot of information from me, but will not give me any information about them.

I just received a phone call form a woman name Cindy about a matter she stated but didn't say was the matter was about. I am going to submit a complaint to the Attorney General's Office because I have received phone calls before, but they have now changed the name of the company to Energy Assets, they are stupid, unprofessional and ignorant. Who do they think we are?

Zombie Debt collectors. A few weeks ago, they leave a voicemail saying they are an investigator calling to talk to me about fraud occurring under my ssn. Today they called four times in a row and left a voicemail saying they are with the "Office of Energy Assets" attempting to reach you in regards to information obtained under your name and driver's license identification."

Seriously, these people are jokes. I'd be surprised if they could collect their thoughts, much less zombie debt.

Check out your rights in your state - in many states it IS legal to record calls, especially ones like this!  Do it with your cell phone and state up front, this call is being recorded for my protection!  Bet they hang up VERY quickly...maybe forever!  If not, repeat it next time and if they STILL continue to call, just don't answer.  These are scummy debt collectors, for the most part trying to collect on old debt WAY past the SOL.

I received a strange pone call from these phone number: 1-888-294-4740  & 585-507-4780.  There, on the phone,  a person was telling me that they were calling from Miami Dade County, because  someone, who I don't know,  had given my name and phone number as a reference for something that they never told me, they also had my BOD..first, the name of the alleged person about they were talking about was one,  then another..., as we say in my homeland they were "throwing stones"of course I told them not to bother me again...It was three hours ago, so, let's see what happens in the next few days...

To JT-were you really served with a summons, if so how was the summons delivered to you?  What was the process that you had to go thru, what was involved in court, how much were the court costs.  What payday loan did you have that you did not pay back?

I have been receiving calls from 888-294-4740 (Kevin Carter) with alleged TPR & Associates. Said that as of now I owe $1400 and more to an online payday loan company. Said they have had my file for over a year and they have documentation notorized and ready for litigation??? They have my name and SSN, which bothers me. They have my old address and I refused to give any new info. I have message like "Hi this is Kevin Carter calling from TPR & Associates, I have a file on my desk pending for so and so with her SSN, call me back immediately and blah blah blah. They want me to fax to 716-691-3720 with case #264250. Good to know that I am not the only one.

They called our house again lart night; the same thing, threating to turn it over to the sheriff - they did the same thing a year and a half ago; looking for the same person, same threats.  I think when ever they hire a new person they give hime the old, old files to try to strong arm youu and scare you.

Called just about everyone in my family.  Said there was a "complaint" about me.  Threatened legal action (which they can't actually do because they buy debts that are passed the statute of limitations)  Made my mom cry.  Told her she didn't raise me properly.  Told her she should stop making excuses for me.  Kevin Carter is his name (or fake name).  I called and spoke with his supervisor.  I have tried to call him back again and he is "in a meeting".  These people are ignorant.  I still don't know what or who I "owe" this money to since they can't produce original documentation.  Pretty lame.

Two men called my work today from the above number looking for Michael Cowart. I explained this was my work but that Michael was my son and could I help them.  The first guy said he had a legal complaint against my son and his company.  I stated I knew nothing about what ever he was talking about and would try to relay a message asap.  The man said that I needed to hold a minute while he checked something and then second man got on.

is there a number where you can call and report these people?  they keep calling our unlisted number about a person that we do not know . now they called our neighbor and used our address to getour neighbor to get a message to our address!!  i called kevin carter 888-294-4740 and advised him for the "hundreth" time that this person "does not live at my address or phone number" and Not to call my neighbors--- he was VERY RUDE and pratically accused me of lying and then hung up on me.....real professiional!  I think this practice needs to be reported and am looking for a number to file a complaint against this company and this employee.

I called the number but there was no answer.

We have been receiving calls from this #.  The gentleman on the phone has hung up on me several times.  When I have asked as to what this reguards they are vague and will not answer any questions but want a lot of information from me and my wife.  We have not given them any info but have asked them to communicate with us in writing.  They have not notified us in writing and have continued to call.  It has become somewhat fun for me and my wife when they call.  They believe by changing their tone or threats that we will reveal any info to them.  I suggest that anyone receiving calls from these people to do the same.  Ask them to communicate with you in writing and under no circumstances give them any old or new information.

They called me today but when I returned their phone call, I didn't get an answer.  Plus, they are using my maiden name...Don't know who these people are.

They cant call your place of business, that is against the law. Check out FDCPA and FCRA laws.

yes i got a call from them so i called them back it is a attorney's office for collections i had a passed do bill i refused to pay it so then they had me summonds to court and i was sued i should of took the settlement they gave me i would of saved lots of $ by settleing with this company

What this company is doing is trying to collect "zombie debt" they've bought for pennies on the dollar. They buy the debt, organize a high pressure and usually unlawful campaign to try and get people to pay. The first thing you need to know is that typically this is debt that the statute of limitations has run out on, meaning though you still legally owe it, you can't be sued for it at least.

The company will try to get you to make some kind of agreement or statement they can use to resurrect the debt and reset the clock on it. They will also threaten you with criminal charges which is unlawful, they will threaten to sue you which is ony legal if they do it once and then sue you instead of calling repeatedly with threats to sue you. If they call, tell them you deny owing the debt and will only deal with in writing, if they call again, file a complaint with your attorney general.

The bad news is, these clowns operate like telemarketers and they're always owned by lawyers who know every trick in the book to avoid prosecution.

these people are calling my job, leaving messages with my supervisor and other people saying they are transferring to my county courthouse.  I spoke with the Attorney General and they told me it was illegal.  If I had the address I could submit it to file a complaint.  How did you settle against them?????

They are a scam illegal collection agency using illegal tactics to collect debts.  Do not give them any information, listen to what they say. Take notes.  Record it if possible.  Call a FDCPA attorney to get a case going against them.  I have settled for thousands against these types of companies.  You can too.
