NO, AARON, WE PAY OUR DEBTS, BUT SOME OF YOUR COMPANIES GO UNDER AND THE PAPERWORK IS NOT TRANSFERRED PROPERLY DURING THE SALE OF LOANS...CASE IN POINT..I HAVE INDELIABLE PROOF THAT A STUDENT LOAN WAS COMPLETELY PAID OFF...AND YET BECAUSE OF THE ONE COMPANY THAT WENT OUT OF BUSINESS BEING SOLD TO COLLECTORS TO GATHER THE OLD COMPANY'S DEBTS...(THEY SOLD EVERYTHING) AND MASS SCAM ON THE FIRST COMPANY'S PART TO OVER STATE THEIR WORTH TO MAKE MORE MONEY FROM THE SALE, I WAS ON THAT 'BAD DEBT" LIST..THEN, ALL DEBT WAS SOLD TO A THIRD COMPANY...WHO BEGUN DUNNING ME...ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS CALL IRS..THEY HAD MY PERMISSION...WAAAY TO LAZY FOR THAT, WANTED TO FORCE ME TO PAY SOMETHING THAT NO LONGER EXISTED..NOW A FORTH HAS MYSTERIOUSLY CONTACTED ME THIS YEAR..STATING THE SAME THING..I NOW OWE THEM 6000.00 THEY SAY...BUT THEY ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO DO DUE DILIGENCE...ANSWER IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM...AND YESS...BY LAW THEY MUST SEND ME THE DOCUMENT FROM THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR ... FAILURE TO DO SO VIOLATES THE LAW. NEEDLESS TO SAY, SINCE THE ORIGINAL COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND SOLD THINGS THAT WEREN'T EVEN TRUE...THERE IS NO RECORD OR ABILITY TO OBTAIN ANY RECORD...ORIGINAL FROM THEM...AGAIN, BY LAW THEY MUST PRESENT TO ME OR ANYONE ELSE WHO ASKS, THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT OR COPY OF FROM ORIGINAL LENDER. IF THEY CANNOT DO THAT, THEN THE DEBT DOES NOT EXIST

http://www.kentwoodlawgroup.com/#!  seems to me as her license is in California, she must contact licensed attorneys in YOUR state to pursue any collection effort. AND...The Judgement/Document/filing must be done in the County in which you reside..although A/X has found a way around this by having it's corp in many states, there again it would be up to the Judge to decide if those corp were legitimately allowed to operate in your prospective state. They, Kenwood, know this, so they have to find an attorney to do the filing for them. Otherwise they are just burning their wheels...old recycled debt needs to be taken care of in exactly the manner outlined by one of the commenter here...and the BURDEN OF PROOF THAT THE DEBT THEY ARE TRYING TO COLLECT IS ON THEM.  THEY MUST PROVIDE EVIDENCE THAT THE ACCOUNT BELONGS TO YOU AND HAVE EVERY REQUIREMENT TO SEND YOU THE ORIGINAL INVOICE FROM THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR.  Really want to piss 'em off...go in and BLOCK THAT NUMBER THRU YOUR PHONE COMPANY.

I, disagree with the above comment. If there's people like him then, I welcome collector's to do their job.
Kentwood Law Group is a garbage of a company. They aren't compliant.
This Group still has a few collectors violating different states laws. I suggest you record yourconversations.
I want everyone to know that if you settle an account you'll take a big hit on your
credit report and at the end of the year you'll get a 1099 form. They aren't here to help, but to get your money. Collector's bonus, when your able to pay a lum sum. My suggestion is pay your bill if you can.
If this group was to shut down their bogus business, do you really think these collector's would pay their due bills?

NO! -
We will NOT be courteous, polite or in any way helpful to your corrupt industry.
Only one incorrectly placed call is Using Corrupted Information. You have Files of Compromised Personal Data in your system, and there?s no Law declaring a Consumer, Citizen, or Immigrant must help you with your problem. Whether you use robos or not, there?s no Law requiring a Consumer to call you back, to be interrogated about anything, let alone someone else?s debt.  Past experience with your industry makes any conversation possible evidence, since here is no Law requiring Consumers to clean up a new phone number, just to reasonably use.

Please be advise the following information is true. If you want collectors to stop calling you answer the phone find out the reason for the call then tell the collector your disputing the account, and you dont want to be contact ever again by phone or mail. This law firm is in California that means they can only sue in their state. They only sue accounts that have assets example; job or house.
If the group doesn't know your place of employment you'll not be garnish, but dont show up to court. This group has cases where consumer has been served and the group has won, because consumer didn't show up, but as of today this group hasn't collected a dime from those consumers.

Its against the law for a collector to assume you'll get sued. This group has at least 7 months to attempt to collect this account. If your able to pay your account, great! If not use those steps.

Kentwood Law Group is a small firm that is hungry to grow, but the
people behind the scenes are idiots. This company doesn't know, what they
want they blame collectors for not recovering money, and when that
occurs they send you home. They don't have parking for employees. They
pay a ridiculous payrate. The bonus structure sucks. They like firing new people
then hire new people again.

Kentwood likes to torture their employees. Most of these people work part-time
earning 9 dollars an hour your sent home everytime you can't collect. Fair?

Their excuse its a Production Environment. All BS, Production is when you have the proper tools to produce. This company has been sued by former employees. They got upset they had all current employees sign a waiver for them not to sue the company for any reason.

Collectors, "stay away" from this Shady collection company.

I can't believe how this company is still in business. They say their top producers
make $5000.00 a month, well its a lie. These people buy recycle debt. In other
words hard to collect debt. If you want to bonus, go somewhere else, they
like to make it hard for you to bonus. Before, I forget they like force current
employees to quit, so they wont ask for unemployment, and if they let you go, they tell
you their downsizing, but the next day they are hiring new people on craiglist, indeed and careerbuilder.

Kentwood Law Group are Scam artists. They violate the law everytime they
initiate a call. This company is collecting money by increasing their threats of lawsuit.

They continue to leave several messages on the same number, and on the same day.
I say, we report them to Federal Trade Commission, and report them
to their Parent company Square Two.

Mr. or Mrs. Bob "Getting Mad" Polus:

Try putting away the talking points handbook. Much as you preach otherwise, the term "debtor" is not a dirty word. Raising disputes with creditors and collectors is not a crime. It's smart money management, that habit your kind insists is lacking in every person accused of owing a balance.

Try reading with your eyes. I've already described FDCPA prosecution as a loss leader and not a cash cow. It's a task of necessity for the greater good, like cleaning toilets and taking out the trash. Had the outdated statutory award cap been linked to the Consumer Price Index, as recently suggested by expert observers, it would rise from $1K to about $4400. You lot violate all year long at bargain prices and you know it.

Try not to mistake my attention to your fetid effluent for anger. Dispatching your petulant remarks is another necessary task. You're a crashing bore with nothing new to add to the idle threat canon of illiterate knuckle-dragging industry shills. When my rights are violated, for sure I get angry. Then I get satisfaction. You want to get upset because I stay ready to convert your scofflaw peers into my debtors, that's your hangup.

Anyway, what do you care? My real name isn't on any of your junk papers. I know that's so because none of my draft documents show your real name printed next to "Defendant".

Mr. or Mrs. Bob S. B. A. J. T. J. G. J. C. Polus belched:

"In a few words [sic] you ran up credit cards. You then wait for a colletion [sic]
agencies [sic] to call you then you harrass [sic] the collector. collector [sic] then put [sic] you in your place.
You hire a filty [sic] attorney who wants to get as much money as he can for you and him [sic] right?
Is this what you do for a living [sic] Debtor?"

I'm sure your intestines are bound in knots because you think I've been sketching an unrealistic picture of the Kentwood-Blush operation, so you figure broadstroking an assumption of my motivations makes some kind of payback. Regrettably you have me confused with another of your industry's storybook characters, the conniving lazy debtor. This ultimate "deadbeat" is pictured as sleeping late each day in a double-wide, living an early retirement on "stolen" credit, and spending all his copious free time baiting hapless debt collectors into lucrative violations.

"In a few words" apiece, I will correct your assumptions:

* My credit problems are in the past and not your concern.
* My current billers are all paid in full. One has been paid two months ahead.
* Most of the agencies calling me in the past few years were skip tracing people I've never met and whom they could easily find themselves.
* All but one skip tracer has relied on badgering tactics and mixed signals and tended to fudge what the FDCPA requires of them.
* The careless fools I tanned in federal court needed no urging from me to repeatedly violate laws many times over several weeks, both before and after our first conversation.
* My defendants called here several dozen times. I'd sent one letter and spoken with maybe three of their script-reading obstructionist reps, who recited their talkoffs rather than listen to my problem with them.
* At each encounter I was never less than polite and direct. My defendants were constantly misleading, confusing, and unhelpful. They ignored written orders regarding when and where to make contact. They offered only intrusion and anxiety during the worst known family crisis of my life.
* I prosecuted my case all alone. No attorney at any standard of hygiene held my hand.
* No attorney wanted my case since it was too complex to be closed out in a cheap settlement within two phone calls.
* Comparing my damage award to my case labor hours, I would make better money as a beginner line cook or in a textile mill and be far less traumatized.

No plaintiff who seriously takes on lawbreaking collectors in court considers it a great career move. It can be an arduous, vexing, and exhausting pursuit with little or no profit margin for the labor. It's not done to score a jackpot but because there is a job to be done, mainly to earn back some dignity when rights are denied.

As usual, you crybaby collectors and corporate cheerleaders stand upside-down on who is the harasser and who is more entitled to relief. You've broken laws for so long that you're insulted by the suggestion that you could do your jobs a different way. In hanging a price tag on that suggestion, I have done precisely what Congress and the FTC *wanted me to do* when the FDCPA became law 35 years ago.

Here's what "filty" means, from the Urban Dictionary, http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=filty :

"1.     Filty
A word used mostly by freshmen. A feeble attempt to mean the same as the word 'filthy'. Ultimately, it doesn't mean anything. Use this word when you are trying to sound cool but just can't seem to make it work."
