Same story with me.  They're calling my Mother!  Freaked her out.  Despicable lecherous buzzards.

I have had a similar experience, they don't leave voicemails and when I have answered the phone they get really aggressive with me when I refuse to give them personal info.  They're not even calling the right person, I've told them they have the wrong number but they keep calling. Whoever said they will add this number to the do not call registry, you add your own personal number to the list, you can not add their number to the list. You can file a complaint, but that's about it. The do not call list is for people to list their personal number so you do not get scam calls, but unfortunately I don't think you can protect yourself from debt collectors.

I called them back and they answered. Ask me to verify my social. I asked them to name the last four and I would confirm. Of course they didn't have it right so they hung up. Haven't heard from them yet!

I have no student loans and don't owe anyone anything.

Called at 8:14am ... Call every couple of days.  I NEVER answer these calls because I refuse to deal with solicitors.  But if everything I've read from the other posts is true, then I'm even more annoyed because I have no student loans and don't owe anyone anything.  However, my husband has some sleazy ex-step-children who very well might have given out our phone number.  We were hounded by collectors for a while for unpaid bills by one of these 'gems!'  Just don't answer the phone -- the calls will stop eventually.

You need to get their address and send them a Cease & Desist letter, you can find templates online for free for that.  Keep a CC for yourself. Once they are told to stop, then they have to comply with the TCPA laws.

Some neighbors put me down as a contact on their student loan.  Now I keep getting calls.  I have no idea where they moved to and I am sure as hell not going to pay someone else's loan simply because they put my phone number as a reference on an application.  I wish they would stop calling.

I have 2friends that workd for Van Ru,they r horrible people. I told them,aftr they mis-reprsntd themselves as Dept.ofEducation,that my loan was paid 12ytd ago & I am now disabled. They said they would remove compltly from credit report(which is difficult 4stident loans)&they wantd my SS#,dob,etc. I told them if they were(D.o.E)they have info already,so the idiot told me my SS#, over the phone& askd do not repeat#over phone(bcuz)overseas cell phone(how got cell# in Italy is beyond me)but he repeatd again threatnd 2sue over Violating"FairCredit Protection Act),hung up on me then mail receivd from them statinv removal of loan & formal apoligz,i still Reportd them.

They call every day at my work place and leave empty voice messages. So freaking annoying.

This company calls my number repeatedly at all hours.  When I pick up to answer, no one says anything.  When I call back, it is some credit agency Van Rue Credit Corp trying to collect on a student loan.  I have no bills to include student loans. The number they call is a newly assigned number given to me when I moved three months ago. I have told them this TWICE and they have continued to call even though they said they would remove this number with no problem.

I have a friend that used to work for a company like this, and he told me that if you request a company to put you on the do not call list and they still call you, keep track of the dates and times because they could potentially owe you money....just fyi. I'm not sure to whom you need to report this to, but it's good info to have.

They call every day including Saturday in the 8am hour. When you pick up, you hear it click as they hang up. I would love to get to the root of these low life's.

I am replying to my original complaint. I noticed that my first complaint for this number was in July. Even thought added to "Do Not Call Registry" they have begun to call again as of today. This time they called my number at 8:15 a.m. I did not answer like I said in original complaint I do not answer calls I do not know. I will again put them again on Registry and see how long it will be before they start the harassment again.

8:30 in the morning on Saturday - answered and it was a hang up.  I called the number back because I was not happy they call that early then hang up!  They wanted a social security number.

I have received two calls in the last two days from this number, the second one so early that I was still in bed.  They're looking for a person with the same last name, but I've never heard of this person and told them so.  I told them to take my phone number off their databases for future contact.

I got the same thing, I didn't know who the heck they were, and when I demanded correspondence, he got extremely rude. I added this number to my phone and checked "all calls to voicemail" Good luck buddy. I've had like 4 calls and they are all completely rude.

I don't answer unknown calls either.  They certainly sound sleazy, but you're seriously uninformed about the DNC registry.  People put their own numbers on it, not those that call them. Also, this entity seems to be a debt collector, and as such, is not covered by the DNC list.

I never answer numbers I don't know. But went online to see if it popped up and it did with various complaints against them. As the other stated even though you've straighten out the problems, they continue to call. Will be putting them on "Do Not Call Registry!"

These people would not say who they were or what they wanted or what type of company they were unless I provided detailed personal data (think "identity thieves"), which I refused until I knew who they were. Then he misrepresented himself as the Dept of Education, which I knew to be bogus. When I stated I would reply in writing to anything they could send by ground mail, the guy blew up; called me names, threatened to call my boss and cause me to lose my job, threatened garnishment, basically did everything but threaten to come to my home and kick my dog. When I repeated I would answer any ground mail, the guy finallly just hung up. I found out who they are online. What they are? Scum

I never got any notices for my student loans. Updated my address every time I moved with them. Big screw up, guess they didn't get my new addresses, long story short, apparently I'm late paying back my loans. Contacted Student Loan services and straightened it out. These guys called my parents and demanded that my parents give them my social security number!!! They were horrible to my mother and they demanded that I pay them back or else. They are rude and still call me even though I've straightened everything out with my Student Loan adviser. Do not give them any of your information. Go to who ever you owe money to, don't go through these guys.

had 3 missed calls from 8am to noon in same day...at 1210pm i answered and lady wanted my ss#,/dob before she would tell me what see wanted...I hung up...I don't give out personal info over the phone

Whoever this number is, they are rude.  They never tell me where they are calling from and only say it's a personal business matter.  They don't even leave a voicemail if I don't answer.  I figure it can't be that important.
