I received a pop-up message on my computer at about 12:30 pm (CST) stating that my computer had been
infected by Spyware and that I should call 1-888-297-8734 to get the problem.
I have a couple of programs on my computer just for those and other purposes.
I don't know who or what these peoples intentions are, but I can guarantee that
none of it is, of a positive nature.
You can learn a lot with just a little research.
P.S. This company didn't literally call me, it just appeared as a pop-up. web page address was
allonlinemedia.com

I'm thinking like you are thinking
I just got the message about Spyware being on my computer and to call that 888 number too, about
15 minutes ago. This has never happened. I clean my computer everyday and, yes, of course it
has spyware.
Anyway, I had t reply when you said that about "Barack". It certainly wouldn't surprise me.
I do believe they are tracking us via the web, and if or, or if you aren't a supporter of "Barack", I
do think they are aware of it.
Oh well, if that's the case then I'm REALLY in trouble. But, I still have my first amendment right ( (I think :) so I will continue to give my opinion when asked.
I'm touching that message that popped up with a 10 foot pole. Hope others realize it is just a scam.

This happened on my iPhone I meant wtf?!
JennyB 2013-05-03 22:15:41 Telemarketer
Don't call this number back! It's warning you of spyware because it was generated by spyware, and there's a good chance that if you call it, they are farming your phone number for future telemarketing / spam.

Same message on my laptop. Ran full scans from numerous internet security companies including Microsoft. No viruses or spyware found. Obvious attempt to do something malicious on my computer. Will not visit the website that spawned that pop up again. I wish my Norton security would have warned me when the spawning website loaded.

I got the pop-up warning window on my cell phone 2 times today when I opened my browser. Moto Droid Razor Max
Jen 2013-04-30 19:44:03 Unknown
Same as above-just wanted to see what everyone else was saying :)

1-888-297-8734 message. I found the origin website, and reported it as a phishing malicious website to microsoft.

This number pops up telling me my computer is infested with multiple viruses. I ignored it/closed the program then ran my anti-virus software.....no virus detected. Just a scam to get their software.
TheWalking Rob 2013-04-25 23:20:19 Unknown

I was also trolling on e-bay when this number popped up, I called and ask how in the hell they could know if I had spyware without scaning my computer frist. And I could not get a answer so all beware

Got the same message -- am tired of this type of marketing strategy by low life thugs. Pull their business license and make them pay us for trying to intimidate us into becoming one of their customers.
Katherine 2013-04-23 13:35:25 Unknown
same as above posts - rcvd pop-up. investigating via google search: there are a couple made up companies that are "rating" allonlinemedia as if it is a valid company; but further investigation shows this domain name was only registered in Jan 2013 and is set to expire Jan 2014 - so it is a "quick" bogus setup to do exactly what they are doing - attempting to hack in to computers. Don't open any of their pop-ups!
What I do is print the text(s) in pdf and then forward them to Microsoft to alert what is going on - believing if enough people do this, Microsoft will realize the largeness of the scam and has more capability to investigate/stop the hacking scam.

Don't listen to the adware, instead, run a virus scan otherwise if you don't and you call them and say yes, your computer will be hacked. So don't be the next victim. It is claimed to be Microsoft, if you think so, call Microsoft to see if the number is allied, otherwise, it is hackers.
Leo Lenaghan 2013-04-21 23:49:20 Unknown

Today I got the same message. Although I use Mac OS X the message read "Windows has identified...." I did all the stuff to close Safari without hitting "OK" button, I restarted my computer, I ran my Antivirus software, but whenever I opened Safari, the pop up message was there. Finally I hit the button and I was forwarded to a website saying basically the same about my computer being potentially invaded by a spyware. I also called the number but hung up after a while.

I got this message while I was streaming the Bill Maher show today on Korreport.com. My history library says it came from allonlinemedia.com

I was surfing when this popped up on my screen.I told me my computer was infected with spyware and i needed to call microsoft at this number (888)297-8734. Please catch these losers! I know it's a scam but how many out there would fall for it?

I just got a message on my HTC Incredible II to saying that windows detected spyware on my phone and call 888-297-8734 for support. I never trust anything that just pops up and I give no one access to my phone unless I physically bring it to my carrier's service centers. I logged into my laptop, went to my internet browser, looked up the toll free number and came across these posts. Thanks everyone!

I don't have an answer other than DON"T CLICK ON ANY OF THOSE SITES! I think that the first reaction is to do so because you don't want any of your information to be obtained by the hackers, but that is exactly how you get compromised. If you get any blinking ads on your computer, go to the very upper right corner of the ad and click (an x will appear so that you can get rid of it). We get so many calls, but don't answer UNLESS we recognize the number (if someone important wants to get ahold of you, they will leave a message , otherwise consider them a pest). Remember, you can always create your own language for a reponse if you answer by mistake. Just get your tongue on a roll .. you don't have to know what you are saying and I guarantee that they will hang up. Of course, you have answered the phone so they will know that it is an active number and no doubt will pass or sell it to someone else. I have created a booklet listing all the numbers starting from the lowest area code moving on up...... and at the end of the day, check my ID and with my list and it's the same ole same ole numbers. A waste of my time, but maybe someday I will be able to use this information. If there is ever a class action suit against these people, I am guessing that three quarters of the people in the country will be part of it. But don't hold your breath!

Got the message on my computer today. Got a phone call yesterday from someone claiming to be Microsoft support. Seems to me to be an improbable coincidence. How they managed to get my phone number and my computer screen suggests they have some backdoor in my system. Anyway, it has me concerned. I am sure they are working a scam.

I got the same massage on April 19 2013 @ 1:00 pm. I also have good security program. What am I to do if anything? I think these people should be held responsable for this. How can we catch them? I will sue them if I can. I intend to get to the bottom of this. I got ALL day, I'm retired and my wife is hooked on the Jodi trial and have had enough of that. Please respond and give me any ideas you may have. Thank you.
