This number called me but nobody was on the line.  It would seem from the comments that it's a call center calling about delivery of phone books.  If so--It most surely is legit.  I delivered them one year and they do have a call center call a random sampling of people on each delivery persons delivery route to confirm those delivery person are doing their job correctly!  They want to verify your name, address and if you received the phone book and most likely if it was in good condition and perhaps if it was placed at your door as they instructed the delivery person to do.  If the delivery person went down the road and just threw them in the ditch in front of your house they want to know that and the delivery person will suffer consequences like having to redo the job, not receiving bonuses, or no pay.

Pakistani man called and said something about phone books and I told him to F off and hung up.

If you`re receiving calls about the delivery of a phone book it "might" very well be a legit call of sorts. In the past 3 days I have received 2 phone books, one from Verizon and the other from L Local Edge, which I`ve never heard of before. I don`t answer unknown numbers so I can`t say for certain If these are just confirmation calls of delivery or not.

I received a call from this number 2 times in a row today. I have call blocking and they went directly to the company for reporting spam/harassing phone calls. I actually have a huge list of these type calls on my call blocking service. However, don't get so comfortable with the fact you are covered with call blocking! These people enjoy annoying others in their home, not taking into consideration that a home they are calling might have a terminally ill person with cancer living at that number, or a sick child or grandchild that might be sleeping. They could care less. They have a way to contact you with an "Out of Area" dummy number if they are unsuccessful in getting you to answer. Yes...immediately after I received the two 888 numbers, they called once more from an "Out of Area" (+19509). All I heard from the caller was, in an indian accent, "Yes, Mam, I was calling to see if you had possibly received your phone book?"...and I hung up the phone!Those were the only numbers the caller provided. If you see those numbers on caller ID or in any other sequence of numbers: DO NOT ANSWER! If you don't have caller ID, I would suggest in purchasing an air horn or whistle. It might not keep them from calling, but you will get some satisfaction once you use those.

I have call Control on My cell phone and have my home phone forwarded to my cell,that number that called just went to my blocked list lol.

It's a scam... If you have time pick up and f*** with them to waste their time.

IRISH.  This number called me twice today. ID as toll free svc. 888 300 7747  no message was left and I did not answer. No idea who it was.  Probably a scam!!

Caller id said it was James Duran.  I did not answer and they did not leave message.

CID indicated "TOLL FREE CALLER".  I did not answer and they left no message on the answering machine.

Do yourselves a favor folks and get a call blocker.  Sell a kidney and/or first-born if you must. :-)   I used money that I might have otherwise contributed to a political party or charity.  After the constant calls, I decided to put the money to better use.  The resulting absence of annoying calls is worth it.

these nasty smelly assed people that take a bath once a month or less like back in their home countries need to leave the people alone that freed them from their back home slavery. GO BACK HOME or get a normal job JERKS.

The indvidual that called me asked to many questions.  This alerted me this person was fisihing and trying to to get alot of information.  See this number come up do not answer.

some person called me from this  number today and I  am getting tired of  having to  keep my  answering  machine on all the time and having to  review all my calls  causer of  all this  spam callers  who  call me at all hours of  the night and day. I have to have my ringer off at night just to get some sleep and I hate to since I have family  who might need  me. why cant  any thing be done  to these  people who call all us?

A man with an accent (Indian or Asian?) asked if we had received delivery of some phone books.  I said, "No."  He said, "Are you sure?"  He then went on to give a description of the cover, which I wasn't really paying attention to.  Then he asked if I lived at such and such address (which was correct), but I lied and said he was mistaken.  I gave him a bogus address and then he thanked me for my time and hung up.

Lady with heavy Asian accent claimed to be from some company called Local Age. She was rude. I told her not to call again.

Ever since we LIFTED the BLOCK on our credit TEMPORARILY, receiving many UNWANTED phone calls and NO MESSAGES are being left...WE don't OWE anybody ANY MONEY, so it has to be $cammer$!  We don't KNOW the number so we DON"T pick up...JUST THAT SIMPLE!!!!
