THIS COMPANY IS ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT 197.93 FOR A PEOPLES MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION THAT WE HAVE ALREADY PAID TO PEOPLES MAGAZINE, WE PAID A INSTALLMENT PAYMENT OF 89,97 AND THEY INVOICED ME FOR AN ADDITIONAL 89.97. WE HAD ALREADY PAID PEOPLES MAGAZINE 113.00 PRIOR TO THIS INVOICE FROM PPS. WE CONTACTED PPS AND THEY TOLD US THEY WOULD REFUND ALL BUT $20.00. OF THE 89.98. I have been receiving "renewal notices" of and on from Publishers Periodical Service for a magazine which I have subscribed to for many years. Their latest offer was $10,00 more for a two year sub than the publisher's rate. I know they are a scam the "notices" just don't look like what comes from the Publisher of my periodical.

They now use a 707-266-6673 number.  Submitted a USPO complaint just in case they can help.  Maybe they can pull their PO Box

This is the number of a 'Publisher's Billing Association', which goes behind the magazines' back to get your money. They have scammed me before and were reported to the BBB which caused them to refund my money. The keep changing their address and the style of envelope which they also send out, which is made to look like a bill that is owed, even though there is a NOT A BILL statement at the very bottom of the form in SMALL PRINT. DO NOT SEND THIS COMPANY (OR ANY THAT USE THIS SERVICE, ANY OF YOUR MONEY. YOU WON'T GET ANY MAGAZINES. Also the magazine that they represented said they are not associated with them in any way and did not ask them to contact me and definitely did not get any notice of renewal nor money from them.

This company is engaging in criminal fraud. I have a valid one-year subscription to Vegetarian Times. My full title has MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) at the end, because I use the magazine in my waiting room. This criminal enterprise masquerading as a legitimate company has been sending fake "invoices". Their latest attempt was for a "second payment" for a three-year subscription, which I did not order. I am sure some folks forget if they have paid a magazine bill, and will send these criminals money, and others, like myself, are busy professionals who have office staff handle everything, and would not blink an eye to pay the "second payment" of a longer-term subscription. However, machines are stupid. Their computer-generated list substitutes 'MFT" for my last name and that was the givaway to me. I just tear up their attempts to defraud me. Others might not be so lucky, and yes,  I am sure their phone number is worthless, don't bother with it.

Event Reminder
I received a notice to renew/order a magazine that I had not ordered. I too called and received a message that they were closed and to call back between 9-3 Pacific time. Thanks for letting me know this is a scam. I was calling to cancel the order anyway.

I've tried for several days, waisting minutes on my phone to reach this company to cancel something that I did not order. No one ever answers my calls, a recording come on and says all lines are busy. They also will not allow you to leave a message. Thanks for letting me know that it's a scam.

They didn't call - but we got a 'letter of renewal' in the mail from a company calling itself the 'Publishers Periodical Service' leaving the phone number that's listed above (888-301-3483).
They left this email (mdsinc1@charter.net) to 'contact' them and to make checks payable to PPS for renewals for magazines we don't even have.
Their address is 1350 E. Flamingo Rd. #749 Las Vegas, NV 89119. Just a heads up and to be aware of these scammers.
