You know grayson is right.  Just do your best at making payments!  I have gotten the same debt relief paper too and after reading all your posts it just doesn't seem like a good plan!!  In the past, I have paid things off and this is how. I took the largest cards and just kept up with the minimum payment.  Then I took the smallest card and paid extra over the minimum and paid it off first...then worked my way to the larger amount cards and then began to put extra towards those.  Just do what you can do and in time you can be debt free.  You know it sounds good  to get help, but like so many have said, if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't all it's cracked up to be!!  Hang in there friends....we can do this by just plugging along!!!

They  will sue for the debt we put 10 accounts with Kazlow & Tucker about one year ago and already have 6 lawsuits. It is difficult to negotiate a lower settlement once you go to court. Kazlow did nothing to help us through this process but take our money.  Do not get involved with them or if you are GET out

Kazlow & Tucker took my monthly payments and did nothing to help me resolve the debt with creditors, they did not communicate with them at all. We are now involved in lawsuits with creditors. We have involved the attorney general's fraud division in our state.

Call you state AGeneral office and they can recommend a reputable company to help relieve the debt.  We are thousands more in debt with these credit card companies and most have gone to court so it will be more difficult to negotiate a lower settlement. We contacted a non-profit company clearpoint solutions to assist us with getting out of debt. we could be indanger of losing our home becauuse Kazlow did nothing the said in their web cite.

And had the Better Business Bureau Logo under that.  When I clicked on the logo it took me to this site:

He spoofed the BBB logo from a legitimate business.

Beware - he really got into "Hard Sell" mode towards the end of the call when I said I wanted time to think about his offer.

Look at the past due notice on this site you have here. If you pay the BBB you get a better rating! Now that's a scam! The BBB is the Banks best friend!!!!!!! The Debt settlement program really works. Have you received a letter from one of your old creditors that you have owed for awhile stating that they would accepted a 70% discount off your past debt if you send in money now? Make sure if you do go with a Debt Settlement Co that they are a member of TASC.

All complaints are not listed.  I know I have sent one to the bbb and waiting for response.  K & T take the first 3 full months you pay and 2/3 of the next 3 months and a smaller amount each month after that.  I have canc. they did nothing for me.  I am being sued by 4 creditors in just 8 months and they would not neg.with any of them even though I have paid almost $7,000. all but 1300 went to them.  The $1300 is all they returned even thou they did nothing but tell me how to handle it myself.

I got the same mailing in the mail yesterday. Just sounds to good to be true. I tried dealing with credit one, a company I saw on TV and it was a very big rip off. First they said I had to become completely deliquent on all my credit cards then they would talk to them. There was no guarentee that those such companies would even deal with them. And they said their fees were figured into my payment that would take from my checking or saving account each month. Right then I didn't trust them.
I went on Facebook and I was warned by a bunch of people not to do it so I didn't.  I am in debt alot. But I think I would rather deal with the companies myself then turn it over to a company that I just don't trust.

A little more in this discussion.  If you are contacted by a creditor and you know the debt is invalid because of your state's Statute of Limitations (SOL), DO NOT ADMIT THAT YOU OWE THE DEBT!  DO NOT SEND A PENNY TO THEM! Otherwise, the clock starts running again on the SOL.  Just send the creeps a letter stating that the debt is invalid because of the SOL.  There are plenty of sites on the web that provide sample letters to handle the vultures in many situations.  Just type on Google, "sample letters collecters" or something of that nature.  I'm using a few right now.

Before getting concerned about the debt collector suing, check your state's Statute of Limitations (SOL)on credit card debt.  For example, I have a vulture group of attorneys, known as Collection Attorneys (CA) and truely the bottom-feeders of all collectors, just recently one is trying to collect debts from me that were charged off by Capital One.  In my state, the SOL is 3 years for "open", "revolving" credit card debts.  The debts they are trying to collect are 3 and 1/2 years old.

Also, if by any chance you are an unemployed retiree (Federal retirement can't be garnished)and rceiving only a pension and/or Social security (also can't be garnished) or are simply broke with no real assets, you may be "judgement-proof".  If you can honestly detail the fact, the vultures will not sue, but fly on to another ravaged being.

Try www.nfcc.org

They are a legitimate credit counseling organization, I found them in an AARP supplement.

I received a mailing from this National Debt Relief Initiative, whatever. There is a disclaimer at the bottom. Read it carefully.

Forget about consolidating!!  Just do the best you can with your payments.  When a card or bill with interest and fees gets a balance that you cannot ever realistically pay off(doesn't matter whose fault it is) then stop paying them!!  They've probably already sold the debt to a collection agency.  Don't ever talk to the collection agency.  Let time go by.  Pay who you can when you can, and generally try to maintain the cards etc. with balances that you can actually pay all the way off.  Try to get your balances to about one-third of your limits.  Totally ignore those $7000 etc. cards that you can't get a good grip on.  Convince yourself that those debts don't even exist, because after awhile they won't exist due to your state's statute of limitations.  So what if your credit rating goes down.  It will.  After enough time goes by you'll either have a couple of cards etc. that you can manage, or you won't have any credit at all.  If the latter case comes true then you convert to cash only money order only.  I guaruntee you that after enough years go by the same ignorant companys will offer to help you rebuild your credit with a $200 card.  Then everything starts all over again.  Never panic or declare bankruptsy.  It just isn't necessary.

I speak from experience!

there are always going to be people who do sales/marketing disguising themselves as something else. they just subscribe to a major group trying to see how much business they can do, if any at all. the old, throuw it up see what sticks.
unfortunately, while many of these may be good, they fail to start out honestly. you should already know by now that if looks too good, sounds too good, keep looking since it may smell funny.
if your credit is good, cash flow fair, you can find many valid organiztion that will help you and guide you to legitimate centers right where you live.
alot of times, we are trouble because we dont have this, dont make your situation worse. you can call up creditors yourself, to reduce payment/interest, but most cases after that, your account will be closed anyway. if the problem is no money, no job, no credit, then unfortunately, take care of yourself, your family and continue to look to better your life, these people certainly will not be able too, and you'll save yourself some money. the old saying, it is what it is, is very applicable at time. there are no majic cures!!! God bless

I received a letter from Consumer Debt Relief Program which references HR5140 Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 and looks like an official government mailing.  In the fine print it states, however, that it is not a government document.

I'd like to know who these people are and what they want.  They have assigned a Personal ID number to me as if I have done business with them but their reference number does not match up with any accounts which I have.

Their contact information is 866-721-6646, they have a Washington DC address and an Ohio post mark on the letter.
