Welcome to the Corona Scam.

They make up fake "debts", often from pulling your own credit reports, finding an old account, and pretending you "owe" it to them.  Then they call and threaten you, either directly or through fake "process server" calls to relatives, pretending they have "sued", or that you will be "prosecuted".

They operate under more than 60 names out of Corona CA, and keep adding new front names and numbers as too many complaints pile up against the old names.  You can find complaints against them all over 800notes, whocallsme, and similar sites, against all their names and numbers.  The MO is always the same, as described above.  It is basically a fake "debt" extortion racket, involving wire fraud and illegal access to credit reports.

There are reports they are under investigation.  Contact FTC.

I have already engaged a lawyer.  Filed a report with the FTC, the internet crimes reporting agency and the Better Business Bureau.  They have to be shut down..NOW!

I recieved a phone call from James Howlett on January 7th. He was absolutley the RUDEST person I have ever dealt with in my life!! I had posted on Facebook that I was getting ready to pack he told me that I needed to cancel my trip so I could pay my debt. I asked him what trip I was taking and he told me that ERS had hired an investigator to find out all of my information. My husband ended up making a payment of $352 on his credit card. I am supposed to pay the remainder of 348 today but not sure if I should or not...

James Howlett called me. He did not believe my name. He also was very derogate to me when i said i have no idea who he was talking about. Apparently, A lady was using her old ph # Which is ours. He questioned my honest and was the RUDEST person I have ever talked to! He questioned our address. He thought we were hiding this lady. He thought I was her and lying!  I kept him on the phone to find out more info. !st he was John Howlett then he was James.  I threatened to report them ... And he said to whom? Well, I have called the CA consumer board and the FTC and the Atty general in CA. I am not done yet. Many places were closed when I called. i will start a new in the morning. My husband was in collections for 25yrs. NO ONE can or should be SO rude!!!!!!! Report them!!!!!

Eagle Recovery called me today using 951-547-3696 as unavailable on my caller ID at 12:54 pm looking for my ex husband of 1986.
Why would I have any information on this person now 24 years past tense  I have been remarried now for 20 years. I told the gentleman that I have no contact with him and told them to have him arrested for using me and my personal information on any debt that he incurred, and hung up.
at 1:pm the same man calls back using now 951-547-3693 now caller ID shows Eagle Recovery same person now asks for my current husband Jeffery and starts asking me personal questions about my daughter. My daughter has no contact with her father either for over 15 years. we do not know where he is or care where he is, I am fuming out my ears now.
How dare people assume that Larry would live here call here and harrase me for no reason. If I say I have no information for them, I have no information.

Granted this has happened before, apparently my deadbeat ex husband still runs up debt and runs, moves out of state or what ever not my fault nor my current husband or my daughter. Instead of pushing buttons perhaps someone should actually look for the person, He gives false addresses, phone numbers and lists me and his daughter as next of kin or that I am still his wife. My ex is insane,
habitual liar, possessive, obsessive and the farther away he is the better.

I have been receiving calls either from Marlene with ERS or a recording telling me to call 888-306-9953. What is really irritating is that they call my work and talk to anybody that answers the phone. This is embarrasing. I have no idea what the debt is for as they will not send me any information. I see an address on these posts so I will be sending the cease and desist letters and verification request letters asap. I have requested Marlene to send me information and to stop contacting me at work but no action on their part. The only action they show is to call my work and tell me that if I don't give them my bank information to pay this debt they will be sending paperwork to my employer. They are bullies and do not adhere to the laws of any state. I live in Oregon. They need to be shut down.

I was contacted today by James Howlett from ERS, he informed me that I have not paid a loan from 2008. He made several mistakes and I did report him but wonder what else I can do, this seems to be some type of scam and I am very worried that this is some shakedown scam and they are trying to steal my information. James Howlett would not let me talk to his superior, he claims he is the manager, but the information clearly shows that he is not. I checked into Virginia laws and they made several mistakes like the following.

He contacted my ex-wife and discussed the account (unlawful in the state of Virginia)
He contacted my new wife and discussed the account (unlawful in the state of Virginia)
You can only discuss the account with the account holder

I checked with the creditor that I was accused of defaulting on and they have no record of me ever having a loan or credit card with me or anyone with my last name.

They had my wrong address that would have been used to open any accounts in 2008 including wrong state, he did have my correct SSN which worries me but none of the other information was correct.

This guy also slandered me and made threats, he had a bad attitude and has been reported and hopefully they will be looked into, they also had my occupation from 15 years ago, I am trying to put together where they got the information and what type of idenity theft could be going on.

Dave, you are either misinformed or perhaps you are an employee of ERS and are trying to bully the poster into stop telling the truth. The fact is they are violating multiple laws, both state and federal and they are on the verge of a class action law suit. It is nothing slanderous in what the poster said, the poster simply outlined the violations that this firm is committing. Additionally with multiple people reporting the same behavior it shows a pattern of violation. One thing that ERS needs to consider is that since their behavior has crossed state lines and they have made statements (recorded statements) that are in violation of federal law they can be shut down by virtue of the Rico law. For whatever reason that someone is in collections there is never a cause to violate the law or the consumers rights in the collection process. There are legal means to collect what is due. However you cannot imply legal action. You can only notify that legal action is being taken (currently in process) and it must be taken once the consumer has been notified.  Stop bullying posters and don?t speak unless you know what you are talking about. In your own words stop whining (yes I spelt it correctly too bad you couldn?t).

Also received a call from Marlena telling me to call back before she files paperwork. This is an implication of legal action and is a violation of the FDCPA. As of yet I have not received anything in the mail which they are required by law to also do within 5 business days. Let the violations begin. This is a new company formed on 11/09 which is why there is not much information about it. They call from a different phone number at (951) 547-3695. Here is some information on them from the California Secretary of State. It also includes their registered agent's name and address should you wish to file suit against them.

Marlene from Eagle Recovery Services (ERS) continues to call my place of employment, even after I have sent them cease and desist letters and nicely reminded them they are in violation of the FDCPA.  Not only has she continued to harass me at work, she also uses illegal threats by saying she is sending paperwork about my debt to my employer.  This is illegal, even the threat to do so is illegal.  Only by court order can wages be garnished.  I don't have any idea who the original creditor is, or what this alleged debt is.  I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission, my State atty general's office and the Better Business Bureau.  The messages she left about sending paperwork to my employer were recorded so I have that as ammo in my case against them.  Oh, they have also failed to send me written validation of the debt.

Turn these crooks into the law enforcement and have them put in prison , I recieved a  call from them in reference to my exwife we were divorced in 1974  GET A LIFE DON'T THEY KNOW ABOUT STATUTE OR ELIMITATION  DAH !!!

I have gotten several calls from this Eagle Recovery or "ERS" for short. They keep saying that they are going to delivery papers to my place of business. I dont know what they are talking about. They also use 951-547-3696.

Just received a call from Eagle Recovery claiming I owe money to First Bank of Delaware.   I told them that was comical since I currently have a loan with them and I am in good standing and if I had an outstanding debt they would not have made a new loan to me.   I requested a validation letter and then I called the bank.   They informed me they do their own collections and do not sell their bad debts for collection.   I hope he calls me back so I can personally tell him they are going to lose their California license.  They also use the number 951-547-3693.  Do not deal with them on the phone make sure you request a validation letter and if they do tell you the name of the supposed creditor make sure you call the creditor directly.

this eagle recovery group at 888-306-9953 keeps calling my job to attempt to do a collection however i have asked them including my manager not to deal with this personal stuff at my place of business. they keep calling and acknowledge that they arent suppose to call but do anyways

I just got 2 phone calls from 8663069953. I answered the second time and waited but their automated answering service states that the offices are closed. They say they are from somewhere called Eagle Recovery Services. I have no clue! I wish they would stop calling
