Hi, if they are being used by government to collect "debts". does that mean that these debts are legit? that we are obligated to pay them or else? and my other question is, I don't even have a recollection how I got the debt and the person trying to collect cannot give me the information I am asking for. So how will I know if I actually owe this money?

Someone from 888-310-2006 - "Performance" called my 82 year old mother, told her she owed the government $2,000.00.  They knew her social security number and date of birth so she wound up giving them her bank account # and giving them permission to draft $75.00 out of her account until it's 'paid in full'.  Of course this was bogus but I didn't know until she called me at work, crying, and told me what happened.  I called them back, was routed to a "supervisor" named Pam Holland; got her voice mail with a very lengthy message.  You bet I left her one and my call-back number.  This smells to high heaven!  Wanted to pass this on - forewarned is forearmed!

A woman Liola Costa is calling my husband saying that he own money. I tried to get information about what it is about and she said she can not give me any details.
She is calling from this number 888-310-2006 her extension is 3799. She says that the company's name is PERFORMER.
We will not call her. This is a scam.

Received a phone call from a Tiffany Garcia looking for my son James Curtis.  Said she was from Performance and could not give me any information regarding what the call was for.  The number she called from was a "private" local number 615-340-6009.  The number she left as a return call was 1-888-310-2006 Ext. 3916.  I did not give her any information.

We received a call by this number from a so called company called "Performance" by a Candace....She wanted to know my husbands social security number so "she could look up his account"....It's a scam...BEWARE~

SCAM.  DO NOT RETURN THESE CALLS OR PICK UP.  Govt debt is public information and that is where they are getting the names - but trust me, the gov't knows where to find you on there own.  SCAM.  We got a call from a Maureen Camper - would tell us NOTHING.  I work at a public library and know how to DIG DEEP and find information and this is a scam of the worst kind.

When I called back the number went directly to him without dialing the extension. Then he told me he could not disclose any information regarding what the company does or why he was calling but that he was looking for my brother and wanted a phone number for him. Since he refused to give me any information, I declined to give him any.

Got a message from Maria Alvarez on 9-12-13 (888-310-2006 x3639), telling me to call her.
No way that's going to happen!  These fools are scammers.

Got a cal from 888-310-2006, EXT3952 for a Gina Cardello who had asked for me to contact her. I have called several times and even left a message. Then called and asked the operator what was this call for and got no reply as to why they needed my Social Security Number and Account Number. So after seeing the many posts on here it is definitely an issue of either attempts at phishing.

When called back I get the name Performance is the company's name. The voicemail that was left states TRI.

Received a message to call Stephanie Frazier who had some "business information" for me.  I returned this call, and became suspicious that the woman who answered (not Stephanie) immediately asked for my social security number.  I refused to provide it without knowing the nature of the "business" or the true identitiy of the individual who left this message, and was directed to "Stephanie's" voicemail.  
It appears to be some sort of identity theft scam.

I recieved several calls from a lady at this number saying her name was Elizabeth Bergen and her extension was 3746.  She was trying to reach my husband, and when I let her talk to him, she said she was from PRI, a collection agency relating to an OSHA violation that occurred July 19th, 2011, she was saying it was with his previous company that was closed in 2005 and there was no way she could be right about her information.  She wanted over $18000.00 and started blurting out false information pertaining to this.  I am sure this is a scam and feel NO ONE should pay these guys without seeking further advice.  She advised my husband not to get an attorney, and stated it would cost him too much.  That is wrong!  These people need to be stopped!

Company called  P R I tried to get info from relatives about me and left this number. (888)310-2006 ext 3535 representative Chris Short. Called the number and operator tried to obtain my SSN# and then asked for my account number. I  was on hold for 5 minutes and at that point the operator came back on asking for my account number or my SSN #. I told her to connect me with ext# 3535 , Chris Short. A supposed recording came on in a mans voice stating that this call would be recorded and then a beep, with no disconnect, the same mans voice identied himself as Chris SHort. He asked for my account number, I stated I hdidnt have one and then he asked for my SSN #. I told him I dont give out SSN#'s over the telephone and that if he needed to deal with me to sent it in a letter marked with with companys letter head and I would read over what it was they wanted. I asked him what P R I stood for and he refused to say stating it would violate the privacy policy.

Can you believe this rectal orifice called Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and today? They were very rude, and using threatening language, said they were going to garnish my wages.  You can't do that in Texas.  I do not owe anybody any money, and I do not know the person they are looking for.  As for as I am concerned, this is a debt collecting scam.

Received a message from Chris Short at 888-310-2006 ext. 3535.  He stated he was from Performance. I had no idea what that was.  I did a reverse phone check and the number was suppose to belong to Verizon Phone.  I called the number back and operator asked for my acct. number of SS#. I advised I didn't have an account number and did not give out my SS#. She never said a work just rang me to Chris Short's ext.  He was out and asked I leave a message. I just hung up.  Our local news, Channe 4, is doing an in depth expose on calls like this.  They are bogus. A collector called him while he was working the story. They tried to explain that there could be 35 or so persons with the same name and they were calling trying to see if they could  get money for an old debt out of them.  He said to tell them you were taping the call and any further contact would lead to legal action.  I don't plan on speaking with them.  I can always hang up if they get through!

I got a call from this # and told that I MUST send them $248,325 (the amount due on our shrt sale) or make substantial payments OR the US Treasury  will seize all assets.  BEWARE

Rec'd two calls in Central TX from a cell phone number Caller ID's as 512-651-9087 (local area code); called and switched to Cameron who gave toll free number 888-310-2006 x 3690; physical location of DCS, Inc seems to be in the Fresno, CA neighborhood.  As an old bill collector, I know skip-tracing when I hear it.  They were looking  for a relative; I sent them down the rabbit hole.  Thx for alerting me that there is some kinda scam here.  Watch out for the cell phone tricks in your neighborhood.

This company actually kepted my income tax due to a home foreclosure and they call me everyday saying they are going to garnish my wages!!  Its driving me nuts im 23 yrs old dont know much about my rights what to do who to call ????

Any advise would be appropriated..they say they are with the US Treasury's office when I looked up their number it was Linebarger, Goggan Blair & Sampson a collection agency!!

I got a call today stating the company I work for owed $181,390.41 to US treasury and needed to pay the money by 3/30/12 or they will send a levy. Her name was Jacqueline and her ext was 3627.  She was so rude asking me for my name and title trying to make me feel uncomfortable...This is a total scam!  How US treasury will hire a collection agency? US treasury will go straight to your bank account or will get your taxes or garnish your check just like they do to everybody else. Don't believe this is real.......it's a total scam!

My husband received a phone call from DCS stating he owed $8,000+ in taxes to Virginia from 2000 and 2002. The DCS guy tricked me into giving him my husband?s contact information and the name of his work. I was very angry. He demanded immediate payment and threatened to garnish his wages. Thankfully I am not that naive. I am a paralegal and am familiar with the Fair Credit and Trade Act. Further, involved my employer. We put DSC on notice that their actions would be monitored by the North Carolina Department of Insurance and we would require proof of any alleged debt. Their proof was a printout of the computer screen noting my husbands name and listing his supposed debt (bogus debt) to Virginia. My employer sent them a letter stating there was insufficient proof of any debt. He also told him he had done his research and was aware of their egregious behavior. North Carolina does not allow its citizens to be harrassed. They will not allow 100% garnishment of anyone?s wages. They will not collect another state?s debts either.

DCS is dangerous. They have given nearly half a million dollars to politicians and were involved in that Tom Dellay scandal. They are definitely evil. I have contacted an attorney who specializes in litigation against collection agencies to see if he can provide more informaation.

Do not allow DCS to rule your life.

I received a call today requesting if I knew a person who lived across the street from me. Asked if I knew how many people lived in the house. I could give no information. Asked me to contact Chris Short at 888=310-2006, ext. 3535, if I found any information. I checked the caller ID after hanging up and found the number to be from Dayton, 937-396-6023. The male stated that when I called back the answerer would say I was calling "DCS", Of course, I am not going to call this number or report anything.

THIS SAME PERSON SENT MY EX-HUSBAND AND i A LETTER SAYIN WE OWED EIGHT THOUSAND WITH INTEREST TEN THOUSAND TOTAL I RETAINED A LAWYER FOR US AND HAVE YET TO RECIVE THE GARNISHMENT OR WITHHOLD OUR TAX REFUND THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE DOING  mICHEL AND THE OTHER LADY WERE BOTH RUDE.

I received a call from 1888-310-2006 and spoke with Michelle Diaz they said I owed the federal government over 30,000. they had all my information and proceeded in another phonecall with questions to complete a financial statement. they gave me 2 days to call back with a method to make these payments. She was very short and rude and it seemed fishy that this was the first time they contacted me after i have already signed up with a legitimate not-for-profut debt management program.

has anyone given money to this DCS company? I called the military number on t his link and there is no record of a debt. I think this is a scam. No one answers the phone at DCS. And they have access to phone numbers and information that should not be available to them.
