It does indicate Century Link Telephone and there was a live person on the line when I answered the phone.  He wanted to me to confirm whether I got satellite or cable TV, DISH or DirectTV, bundled or separate.  Then wanted to know if I was under a current contract with DISH.  Finally said he was ready to work up a quote for me to show me how much $$ I could save by signing up with their new PRISM television system.  Told him no thanks and only got two "ya-buts" before I could disconnect.  He wasn't an overly persistent type.  Probably was real and not a prank or scam but I just don't give out info or sign up for stuff from cold-call companies.  I can always go in to the local Century Link office and talk to a live person in the sales office.  

I have been getting calls from this number all week. Caller ID says Centurylink.  Answered one tonight and it was some A-hole who said that "I did not complete my order" -  Clearly he wanted me to provide credit card details.  I told him I did not order anything and he actually got indignant and said that I had ordered phone services and I needed to complete the order.  (I did order some new services from Centurylink but those were paid for months ago.)   He sure was not a trained customer service representative, he could not articulate simple words and his speech pattern was that of a low life street hustler.  I continued to challenge him and he hung up. I hope he rots in the third world city that he calls home.  What a piece of trash..

I called Centurylink and advised them..They say he was not on of theirs!  

Calls received at all times of the day.  When I say Hello there is absolute silence.  Who is this?  If they have nothing to say why are they calling?

Correction, we got our phone service on December 26

We just moved and got a new phone number. We have gotten many telemarketer calls at this number since we moved in on
   the 26 of January. This number comes up on caller ID as  Centurylink Telephone which is the local phone company. Since we have their phone I figure they want to sell me Dish Satellite which they also sell.  With caller ID  I don't pick up the phone unless I recognize the number.

This number called me twice today for the first time. I have CenturyLink service and assumed they were trying to sell me a bundle package, which I do NOT want so didn't answer and came here to check. Since I'm not sure if they are spammers pretending to be CL or really are and will continue to keep calling until I speak to a live rep, I decided heck with that and blocked the number. Bye bye.

Forgot to add: the caller ID says the calls are from Santa Clarita, CA.

I get callsl from an 888 number numerous times during the day and evening. It's so annoying!

What used to be Embarq is now Century Link in my area.  This call was to get me to switch to their Prism Cable.  Must have got my name because I have their DSL service. I said not interested at this time and will call when I am (not ! )

caller id has centurylink on phone. caller calls all times of morning and evening. never leaves message. when we answer the phone there is no responce.

I just received a call from this number correctly stating the name of my internet/phone provider. I was then told there had been a leak in the system and had I received any bill yet, which this is new service and I have not, and they wanted to verify information. I told them I had to go, called my internet provider who told me not to give out the info, it was a bogus call.

According to Caller ID they are Century Link.  More than likely trying to get you sign up for their overpriced TV package.  I do not answer and will not as I have Directv and am very happy with it.

person from CenturyLink, Alissa, wanting to sell me tv services and was adamant about atleast giving me a quote, asked  how many tv's, are they HD and after I answered then I was told they do not offer the services in my area. Wondering if this was a setup or not?

I have been receiving constant call from the above-mentioned number.  When I call back the number is no longer in service, but it shows that it comes from CenturyLink.    I am on the no call registry.

I have received daily calls from 7-8 PM from this number (reverse directory: CenturyLink) since I ported my CenturyLink number to Vonage for cheaper, better phone service. Vonage is a CenturyLink competitor.

My 93 year old mother, [name removed], gets calls all the time from this number asking for someone else. She has had a stroke and cannot explain to them that the person(s) they are asking for do not live at that location.  I have tried to call them back and get no place.
This harassment needs to stop. They call my Mom at her home at [removed].

These people call numerous times a day and at nearly 9 p.m. at night!  Am not interested in "bundling my phone with computer".......

Contact the Public Service Commission.  The Chairman's last name is Graham.

If enough people do this and complain about this 888 number they will have to investigate and take action.

Call you local phone provider and ask for the address.

We the people still should have some power, I hope!  Pass the message on.

These are the people who regulate the phone companies in the state and if enough of us do this, they will investigate the calls and hopefully put a stop to them.

Interesting, I put a call identify on my phone and the minute I stopped the service, this 888 number started!

This number calls several times a day. When I answer, I'm disconnected. The most recent call was this evening at 7:30 EDT. I called back immediately and got Centurylink, my phone service provider. I dialed "0" to get an agent and got the message "Please call back during regular business hours." I'll be calling tomorrow to discuss this with a live person. Getting sick of these calls.

We receive calls at our business from this number almost every day. The caller ID shows "Centurylink." When we answer they hang up. When we don't answer they do not leave a message.

Did anyone switched their Internet service to Century Link (Embarq,etc) before the calls started. Our calls started after we switched our internet service to Century Link and the caller ID reads Century Link.

It is a telemarketer affiliated with Century Link. Call Century Link customer service and they will put you on a no solicitation list.

The person who called was supposedly our "account manager" for Qwest. What an a**hole. So rude, sounded just like a sales call. When I told him that we already had an account rep, he said he was it.  Liar.  

Then I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said he was the supervisor.  Seems like he doesn't even know who he is.
