This number has been calling me and my parents about bad checks with a bank before i was married. well yesterday it was 8 years. they told me i had to pay 200.00 a month. i said i would try but it would be cutting us real short. they said they needed that money that day which of course didn't have. they stopped for a while and started again calling today i talked to guy and said i needed to pay 1,275 or be summoned for fraud same with my parents. my parents were references they weren't on the account. which nothing will happen to them which i was threatened that they would be charged for it also. he wanted me to call my mom for her credit card number which i didn't get because i called an attorney at that time. she said if they summons you. you go to court explaining your money situation and the judge will lower your monthly payment. for them to say they will charge you for fraud and you'll go to jail is harassment. if people went to jail for bad checks alot of people will be in jail. being harassed is enough by these guys but when you know your parents that are in bad shape in the money department being called and harassed by these guys everyday for what i did over 8 years ago makes me angry and sad that these people are like this. if they really want their money so bad why can't they work around what you can afford w/o starving and their kids starving and not living out on the streets

I have been getting these calls consistently from different companies with unheard of claims since the beginning of the year.  Frankly, I got damn sick and tired of being threatened and having my work called so I hired an attorney and paralegal to sort this all out.  The phone calls have gotten less and less. However, I received a message left at my work claiming that I have a bad check and that due to receiving this AUTOMATED message I can consider myself served.... WOW?.

I called and spoke with a nameless female who was very rude and told me to have my lawyer call after I informed her I was a client of a law firm to handle this and they needed to direct their calls to them.  She was rude until she hung up, after I informed her that attempting to serve someone by automated message was asinine.  

I handed their information to my paralegal but really....?

Since when can you serve someone by automated message and why the hell didn't someone tell me it was so easy?!   I must run out and buy one of these machines immediately and proceed in leaving automated messages to anyone and everyone that annoys me.

got a recorded message threatening to serve me with papers fo a bad check.  i haven't written paper checks in years.  these types of people worry me, even though i haven't done anything wrong.  i would like to know exactly what to say to them when they call............if they call and will let me answer.  i am guessing that they just leave messages.

Yes, Linda Richardson, is the name on the recording for the so-called bad check that was written. The recording also  requests to set up a time to meet and talk. It threatens to serve you with papers at your residence or place of work. They are full of crap. We had a person call us from another number, and then provided us with an "attorney's number" and a "case number," but they were debt collectors. From what I know, debt collectors are not allowed to provide false information on who they are, or what they are calling for. The ACS Group (this is the name they use, but Ican't find their company name in Google) uses this same method (they call from
877-349-5001, and give the "attorney's office" number as 866-599-5783).

Who are these people.  I had the same experience as CAT.  Not only did "Sally" call my home they also called my in-laws.  This can't be legal, I'm not an attorney but may find one just to find out.  Unbelievable.

I just received a message from 602-374-8146 which is a Arizona landline for a Linda Richardson who left a call back number of 888-315-4970.....an automated system stating the same thing that they have a legal file pending in their office for a bad check that I supposedly wrote and that I have been officially notified and since I cannot be reached they will serve me legal docs at my employers office or home. This is the 2nd call
The other call was 2 weeks ago from a 877-405-4615 and this automated system left a message about an investigation for check fraud. All my checks have cleared and I don't have any checks written that were not paid.

I just received a message from 602-374-8146 but left the call back number as 888-315-4970. The message was also from a  Linda Richardson... Also stating they would be trying to serve me with documents at my place of employment or my residence and this was my last chance to settle the problem.  First I have heard of it...

I received the same message. I have not written a check in years. so I no this is not legit.

I received a message from this number earlier today.  They left the same message Cat received, mine too was from Linda Richardson.  The automated message said they are trying to serve my summons at either home or work.  If I do not call to set up an appointment they will continue to try to serve me.  I have never written a bad check and will not be calling her back.

This number called with a similar message to another I have received from a Rick Douglas only now it is Linda Richardson and it is about a bad check I apparently wrote and legal documents they want to serve me I know this is a scam because I KNOW I have not written a bad check and I was pretty certain that it is Illegal to disclose that information in a message of any type.
