These fools sent a email to a person with my name they found on facebook with my SSN and address on it. this person was nice enough to print the email out and send it to me. This is a debit I paid another company who bought it long before. Anyway I contacted FTC and my local AG's office who are very interested in this.

can't understand the caller, she mumbles and has a horrible accent. I had to play the msg. 5 times to try and minimally understand it. When I called them back to question why they were calling and asked for someone who spoke clearer to call us back, they ignored this request and had the same mumbled garbled voice call again

Yeh I also thought it was a fraud until last night. I don't know what possesed me to call them but I must have called after hours out of curiosity. A very nice man picked up and politely said the office was closed when I started to questioning him about the messages I received he looked up my account and explained everything to me, the debt I owed and what my options were I asked for his name and he identified himself as being Mr. Shum. We spoke for about 15 minutes and he went over my file with me in detail, gave me options and even gave me advise how I can deal with credit card debt and not use debt consolidation companies which I was planning to hire. I actually followed his advise and was able to negotiate with my credit cards after that i called his office and made arrangements for a payment plan. The guy I spoke with was great and he knew almost everything me and the lawyer discussed. The gave me a reduction and put me on a payment plan. Can't wait to be free of all the debt.

This is so retarded I just read all the coments and trust me we know who works for this fraudulent company.. Anyways just FYI true lawyers don't leave that much personal infomation on an answering machine that may or may not be the person they are trying to contact.. It's againt the law u idiots oh and if u truly had a case on us u wouldn't have to keep contacting us.. A real lawyer will try a couple of time and than go ahead with the law suit duh so stop trying to scare people u retards and get a real job

I got a message couple of weeks ago from lawyer Shum or one of his reps. Thought it was a wrong number they found me on my job. Spoke to the girl who was pretty cool. Explained my situation with child support and finances. They actually worked with me around my problems and put me on a payment plan and gave me a small break. No complaints dont need this nonsence on my report cause I didnt pay. So its done.

Sandy 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
Boy, are you angry at them!
Geraldo 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
I am Puerto-Rican and I find it offensive that you refer to these people by their ethnicity. It seems that you are just angry at them personally. This forum should not allow anyone to be a racist! You call this lawyer's firm "run by a bunch of Russians" because you want people to think that they are bad just because they are Russian. You are a BIGOT!
Kelly 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
Richard Shum is an entertainment lawyer and the are nothing more than a garbage Bill collection agency, The are owned by a bunch of Russians out of an office in Staten Island N.Y...Don't get suckered in to paying them out of fear. Yes you can be sued for a pay day loan but the will not and have not ever sued anyone....There are law firms that handle these claims but this one is a fraud. If yo want to pay it because morally you feel you have to but don't pay it out of fear of them

He/She is write ,you should question your friends first ,if they 've been giving away your private tel.number
SMS 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
If someone knows your phone number ,maybe you shoud question your friends if they gave your phone number away

I have two lines one of which the number only is given out to certain people. For two weeks I received calls from unknown first to the dedicated line and then right to my cell. When I told them I wasn't the person, they stopped calling. Now I am getting calls from a Roman from Shum's office. He left a message that there are "two potential complaints against my name and my social security number."
What debt and/or lawyer calls and leaves messages like the above mentioning your social security number. Also he called from a Massachusetts number.
If you do more searching on this guy and/or company, it seems that they are also doing the same in the NYC area. The same time as every one above.
Also the people calling from the unknown number and this number all speak with a very heavy accent.
Ben 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
I agree with Brian! Shum's office was very professional. I also settled with them!
Brian 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
I also received a call from this firm. To be honest, I couldn't even remember that I took out that payday loan like 2 years ago. Noone was contacting me for the longest time, so I thought I'd get away with it. The person from attorney Shum's office was actually quite nice. I settled for 80% of my original balance, payable over two months' time. Hey, at least I am not being sued :)
Anotha Caller 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
Yea, I just got the same call for a friend. I asked how he (Allen Flynn, it what he said) got my number and he said my friend used me as a reference. It just so happened i watched this movie called MAXED OUT all about creditors, debt collectors, their invasive practices, and the reasons why America and Americans will probably never get out of debt and I knew something was funny about this guy.
A debt collector buys your debt from whomever you really owe money to. I understand that now they want their money back, but who told you guys to do that?? I'm not passing on any messages to my friends or family for you.
jennifer 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
No I do not work for them. Why, because i'm not complaining? i owed the money I don't care if they said the were aliens from Mars, I paid it because the woman was very nice and professional and besides are you one of those "expert people"? that knows every way to not have to pay what you owe? i got cash up front and used it, I should have to pay it back. I don't pay those idiots who threaten you with everything under the sun, Julie was realistic and fair so I paid the money back, is that wrong?
Steve 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
Law offices don't call people regarding debt! Debt collectors masquerading as law offices do.
Do you work for the company Jennifer?
Jennifer 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
Got a call from someone from a law office. They helped me straighten out my finances. I owed to a payday company for a long time and couldn't figure out how to find my creditor as my debt was resold a bunch of times. I think that girl's name was Julie. She was very nice. Worked out a payment plan for me. I was able to get a "Paid in full" letter, so I am now able tor estore my credit history. Lots of collectors are very rude, but this girl from law office of Richard Shun was actually very nice and professional!
SMS 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
Got the same thing today, from Jason Glass and his boss Mr. Shun is going to sue me for thousands.
Krys 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
these calls come in intermittantly for my brother saying i'm trying to help him not get sued when i called the number myself it was a personal cell phone message says this is jason glass
RWebster 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
says he's from a law office, no record of Richard Shun.
Ben 2011-06-06 21:05:24 Unknown
Calls all the time. Does not leave any message.

Nephew answered phone, "Janice" said she was "an officer" and would bring me a summons in half an hour if i didn't call back. I called back, said "Nice try, no dice" and they said they would send paperwork tomorrow.
